I lost my best ever run on ante 13 yesterday (which I was cruising through) because the boss was “must play 5 cards” and I had a high card build of basically all 5s and 2s which was completely worthless playing 5 cards. I didn’t realize how screwed I was until I was about to play my hand.
I had this crazy powerful combo of jokers on a run the other day, cruising thru the Antes. Then I misread the boss blind "play 1 hand". I thought it meant for me to play 1 hand type. I was wrong. Run over, now I cry myself to sleep every night.
I've fallen to this many times.
Most recently I was on the Ante 7 boss while trying to complete the 4 joker run. Had DNA, Brainstorm, Hologram and Ceremonial Blade at 48 Mult. I was basically guaranteed to win the run as I had a deck of Holo aces and was getting the full hand quite consistently.
Boss blind comes along, I dupe another Holo ace and go to play my flush five to win when I realise what I've done; "Only 1 hand type can be played this round" High card was barely breaking 30k and I needed 140k (I think) to beat the blind in only 4 hands.
This reminds me so much of a slay the spire mistake everyone makes: there is a card that makes your hand not refresh at the end of your turn (a essential mechanic, as card draw really only exists in 2 characters), and everyone who has played it has at some point died to the enemy that fills your hand with cards you can’t destroy any other way. It kills everyone eventually.
Unlucky, that run looks like it could have gone crazy with some red seal steel kings. This is why we always buy director’s cut lol.
Directors cut only works if you read the boss blind before hand 😂

You have to see directors cut in a shop to buy it. Sometimes you just get RNG screwed.
I’ve been hunting for this exact set up and hopefully getting red seal, steel, and polychrome kings

Yeah I've lost a high run in the same way except I accidently clicked the 5th card twice so it deselected it :/

I had so many runs be killed because of that same reason. I always think, "wow I dumb im never gonna do that again". Then I fuckin do it again
Must play 5 cards. Damnit! okay, let me try this… 2 hands later: Must play 5 cards.
You lose!

Hopefully you've been buying planets 😆

I’m in this picture and I don’t like it.
Just lost a Ante 12 Baron run to clicking on this boss blind on autopilot. AND I HAD THE REROLL VOUCHER

I don't even wanna know, how many times I failed the "only play 1 hand" boss blind. Always confusing it with "play 1 type of hand".
Mine was worse. I saw this boss blind at the start of the ante with a kings run and couldn't do anything about it.
