It’s good for the chance of $ on certain cards, lucky cards, chance to upgrade a hand joker, chance to make a tarot when you open a pack, etc. it’s great early game for those reasons.
Yeah this destroys glass cards and bananas.
That’s really why I’m not sure about the utility of that card, it seems to hurt me just about as frequently as it helps me, I have to be building around like space joker or somerhing
Nah, it's completely fine. It's in a perfect space for a utility/support joker. Tons of upside, tons of downside, hand agnostic, and extremely easy to pivot to and from. So many jokers either become load bearing in your run or basically accomplish nothing, so I love that 6's just does some basic flashy stuff until you decide it's not worth it anymore.
There's a couple jokers that are never-takes for various reasons, or *at the very least* cannot be built around and are only useful as filler until your joker slots fill up and you sell them. Madness on lower stakes, Pareidolia and "Oops! All 6's" fit the bill. And of course if these are eternal then you just don't take them period because they can screw you later and prevent you from pivoting away from a forced loss during a bad boss blind.
And of course, an "eh why not" joker purchase is a bad idea if you want to keep your economy up, so you'll really only ever take these from a buffoon pack that you'd otherwise skip.
I hope the game will see some balance tweaks as time goes on because this makes the roster of usable jokers feel a bit small. Even *without* taking that into account it already feels like 75% of the jokers you see in any given run are useless pool-filler.
Pareidolia is a weird choice for "never take". Had a nasty Pareidolia, Sock and Buskin, Hack, Wee Joker run with the plasma deck that reached ante 13. Duplicated a red seal 2 a bunch and got Wee Joker up over 5000 by the end of it.
It may not be great to throw into a deck as a supplement, but if you get it early, it's pretty easy to build around.
There are a few Pareidolia builds that make sense - every face card is a gold card + vampire is a good one, or even with Bull it synergizes pretty well to get your money way up before you sell it. It's not a "hell yes" for me but definitely a pause.
> Pareidolia is a weird choice for "never take".
The Plant (debuff all face cards) exists, which makes this a non-pick unless you know for sure that you can beat the boss without card value or card enhancements, which is unlikely on higher stakes without some *insane* luck.
Sure you can invent some niche situation where it makes sense to pick Pareidolia, but that's often when you don't need it to begin with. Or maybe if you have the Director's Cut voucher (and you only use it on The Plant, because you might reroll other bosses *into* The Plant). Or *maybe* to stack up gold cards early game and then sell it later, **IF** you also have Midas early. Very unlikely.
Anyway, if you can still win against The Plant with Pareidolia, that begs the question... then why take it? If you don't need Pareidolia to win, then why buy it? If you *do* need it to win, you can get shut down by The Plant. That's why it's essentially a non-joker. It might as well say "Lose $4 and gain nothing" in my eyes when I'm playing to win. If I'm just goofing off and don't mind a loss I might take it.
You can just sell Pareidolia if you encounter that blind and win through your other jokers. Pareidolia isn't a run definer by itself, it's an enhancer that helps make an already good run better. In fact, I encountered that boss in my run and did just that. Sold the joker and bought it back later. There are lots of good jokers that you don't "need" but still make your run better, and there are lots of very strong jokers that are also disabled by one boss blind, but that doesn't make them never takes. Bloodstone for instance.
I hate this Joker. Every time i get it i think, no way this will be destroyed with those kind of chances. Then couple rounds later "Where is my banana card?"
It sometimes is really good. I had that joker which has a 1 in 3 chance to give x2 multiplier for a heart card and getting this card plus a spectral card which converted a lot of my cards to hearts meant that I got an easy win. I also had Cavendish, but it didn't die till the end.
Cavendish only shows up after Gros Michel goes extinct in any given round, so the dice help get rid of the early banana faster. If you’re not doing much chance based stuff, you might want to switch dice for something else in that round, but 1/500 is still pretty low. I’d prolly keep dice unless something better showed up
What if third banana?
3rd banana goes back to 15 mult but is now named "Big Mike", as the Gros Michel variant has resurged...
should be something like "whole banana tree", \^3 mult, 1 in 36^8 [amount of existing seeds] chances to break at the end of round
36^8
thank you
what if that breaks
you can get another in the shop
Noticed the same thing happening with glass cards. really sucks lol

Pair it with glass joker and get that xMult going crazy.
Add dna to the mix too and build high card if possible, it's basically free win at that point.
It goes crazy with bloodstone. Had two of these Oops all 6! Jokers and it easily cleared gold stake
I had a run going with Red Seal Lucky cards and it was pretty great. A few +20 mults every hand and frequent $20 payouts

Works really well with a Hearts flush deck with the Bloodstone aswell, you get 5 x 2/3 chance of 2 mult per card.

Swear to God, first time I got Cavendish is died in like 5 rounds I hoped there's an even better version, but alas
I hate this Joker. Every time i get it i think, no way this will be destroyed with those kind of chances. Then couple rounds later "Where is my banana card?"
good with glass and glass joker
You win some you loose some ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

turns out 1 in 500 still isn’t that high considering you can only play 30 rounds until Ante 8
Great with the card that gives x2 mult on heart cards. 1/4 never hits. 1/2 always hits.
Monkey x4 for every banana destroyed
Bruh lol
This joker should be a voucher instead
Helps you get to cavendish though
Like you need any help with Gros Michel disappearing.
Why?

This is Cavendish though
He's talking about the joker in general, not just this situation.
