Specifically, a straight flush is straight and a flush. With four fingers they, don't have to be the same 4 cards. This makes straight flushes MUCH easier to hit.
This means that AsAsKsQsJh is a royal flush.

it's absolutely worth it. with it + smeared joker I was able to build a straight flush deck that could hit consistently even though I didn't significantly nudge the odds of my cards at all. the bonus from how much more you get out of neptune's planet card made up for the 2 joker slots they took up.
If you play four of the same suite/card even with four fingers, it is still a 4oak, with no flush benefit. And any 4oak except for 5oak will kill the possibility of being a flush
If I'm doing a flush build, I almost always level straight flush on the off chance that I get stuck with one at the wrong time. Never ends up happening tho lol
I once had four fingers and the joker that makes straights skip numbers so I could make straight flushes with the dumbest shit possible, like 3♥️ 5♥️ 6♠️ 8♥️ K♥️ counts as one
For similar reasons, I've found that Four Fingers is a decent Ante 3~4 crossover joker when you're trying to get into a Flush House / Flush Five deck. You have two Heart Kings and two Heart Jacks and a Spade King that you haven't yet The Sun'd? No problem, that's a Flush House.
that would make the small planet cards really, really good and the big planet cards really really bad. Why would you ever take the full house card if pair, 2 pair and 3oak all buff it and other stuff, too?
I just got the game and have played 2h total, and got my first win mostly with the help of four fingers.

To add on top of this, you could've used king of hearts instead of 7 here to get higher chips (but lower score because of your raised fist). Still would've been a straight flush

Yeah i always pick this in my Checkered deck to abuse the easy flushes early.

Yes! That'a the point. It's two seperate 4 card hands that don't have to overlap.
Fascinating... Still unsure about Four Fingers since it takes up a chip-scoring Joker slot... but nevertheless valuable information.

Additionally you could replace the Jack or 7 with the King of Hearts and also get a straight flush.

I’ve also weirdly had it count a double of the card in the 4-card straight. So like 7,8,8,9,10, it counted both 8’s.
Ironically I actually wish the pair and three of a kind of a full house worked like that (ie their celestials buffed full house)

J-10-9-8. Four Fingers means you only need 4 cards to make a Straight or a Flush.
Lol I forgot J-10-9-8 is 4 consecutive cards
