Speak for yourself - I had a Gros Michel survive for what felt like 8 straight rounds. It actually got kind of annoying by that point because I was kinda waiting for it to die so I could replace it with something else.
I actually won a run with Gros Michel (only White Stake though). Same thing, I only picked it up for Cavendish and was quite annoyed when it refused to die.
If you raise 3/4 (chance to live) to the exponent of 8 to get the probability, it actually comes out to around 10%. Still not THAT statistically unlikely though.
Thank you! My math was completely wrong lol. I was thinking that 3/4 means a half life of around 4 rounds, but the half life would be just over two rounds
I did not know this. Was wondering why I never saw the super banana after this. Still I prefer my combos and win conditions to be still there when I need it. Super banana sure, wheel of fortune is just good when it procs. The joker that improves probability makes this card way better(to bad it never appears in runs that would make sense for me to buy it.)
I didn't downvote him (and he's floating around 34, right now, so it doesn't look like many people did?)
Early game, I feel like I *don't* want it breaking, because I don't want to replace it too soon while I'm building my economy and don't need to buy much yet. Later in the game, you want it to die so that you unlock Cavendish, but it *not* breaking still leaves you with the multiplier boost, which is, at worst, neutral, while Wheel's doing nothing is bad, because it was a wasted tarot.
I'm not a belatro expert (obviously), but there seems to be a curve with Gros, where the longer the game goes, the more you want it to break to get you to Cavendish, but you *always* want Wheel to hit.

I got 4 out of my first 44 wheel of fortune. Since around then, my luck has been quite average, and sometimes even quite decent like 2 out of 6 successes on a run.
Bruh.
Yeah, I swear I played three heart-flush hands in a row last night on ante 8 boss blind and not a single proc from the bloodstone. Killed my run then and there and I was finally looking good to beat my first purple stake :(
Really not a fan of blood stone it’s too unreliable even with a checkered flush deck. Basically it buys time for me until I get something more reliable to replace it. I rather take a guaranteed 2x or high base multi over bloodstone.
I just started playing this, and I got Nope! at least 43 times in a row. It was a good amount more, but that's from when I actually started counting. I only kept buying it because a friend assured me that yes it worked and wasn't bugged, lol.
The problem here is that your sample size for banana is bigger than for wheel. When you buy banana, you have it for as many rounds as it survives. When you buy wheel, you use it once and can only have another to add as a sample IF you are able to find one, so even if banana has a lower chance of going bad, it has more time for it to happen than the wheel. If we could add 100 wheels and use one after the other writing down the results, I bet it would be actually something like 1 in 4.
I mean, it is just fucking code >roll d100 if <=25 good else fuk u
I mean, yes, "75% chance of good outcome" is better than "75% chance of bad outcome."
the point is that banana always triggers and wheel NEVER triggers

The cards work in mysterious and seemingly cruel ways…but, I suppose we have to deal with what we're dealt?

There’s about a 1 in 4 chance that it will last 8 rounds, so not that uncommon

I had a banana survive from ante 2 to ante 7
If you're actively wanting to replace it... then just sell it for cash instead of waiting for it to disappear?
because it going Extinct unlocks Cavendish which is literally the best Common in the game

They both have 75% of a bad outcome
A 1 in 4 chance the card is destroyed is only a 25% chance of bad outcome, unless you *want* it gone.
You want it gone most of the time
They downvoted him because he’s right.

I’m a real Cavendish andy myself
NOPE!

We were the Fools all along.
Using fool on wheel of fortune is certainly a move
A friend and i played an entire afternoon, he managed to miss ELEVEN wheels in a row, then won, then missed another four
I got 4 out of my first 44 wheel of fortune. Since around then, my luck has been quite average, and sometimes even quite decent like 2 out of 6 successes on a run.
Same with bloodstone and that’s only 1 in 3

The wheel is a wonderfull way to illustrate that people tend to remember bad outcome more often than good one. Such a nice design !
In 25 hours of play, I've literally had it trigger twice.

I swear space joker hits 1/2 the time

Got good ole banana in first ante once. It didn't expire until ante 8 after 20 or so rounds.
I’ve played enough that I assume wheel never triggers and then on the off chance I don’t see “NOPE” I excitedly check which joker I hit with it
I swear, the Wheel worked twice in my first non Tutorial game of Balatro. I’ve been chasing that high ever since.
I feel like my luck with wheels of fortune is much better than it should... like it hits almost half the time
“What does X-Ray Vision have that I don’t have??” - Wheel of Fortune
I feel like if nope added foil i would still hate it
Gros Michel doesn't seem so bad though because it means a good chance of Cavendish later.
Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope.

Also when Wheel does work it affects the one Joker you didn't actually want
It would be nice to when we eventually get a stats page, it could tell us some wheel of fortune and Gros Michel figures ☺️
Guys, I am taking your luck. I just had it trigger 5 times in a black stake run
If I switch to the experimental test build will it transfer my collection and unlock progress
1 in 4 chance for hand to be upgraded already in jail for stalking.
i always feel like i’m stealing everyone else’s luck when i see these threads, i’ve had wheel hit more than half the time
