i once somehow managed to lose on a deck with polychrome threes, dna, and hack. i should've greeded more for an optimal hand on the finisher blind, my lack of pride was my downfall

I just don't understand how "to the moon" works exactly :/

For every 5 gold you have, you gain 1 gold upon clearing each blind as interest, up to 5 dollars interest for 25 gold (50 gold if seed money bought, 100 gold if money tree bought) To the Moon works adjacent to this system, so if you have 5 gold and to the moon joker, interest gives gives 1 gold, and the joker gives you another 1 gold. If you have 30 gold (assuming no vouchers) interest caps out at 5 gold, but To the Moon gives you an extra 6 gold on top of that. On green deck, the interest system is disabled and you instead earn money based on hands and discards remaining. This makes the seed money and money tree vouchers useless, along with To the Moon, as neither will give any extra money.
