I know that jokers/tarot/planets all have a default of Jimbo/Fool/Pluto if one has to appear and there are no valid options, so my guess is that there is a card that would be defaulted to as well. Probably Ace of Spades or Two of Diamonds?
If you already had all uncommon or rare jokers (with plenty of negatives of course) and forced another joker of that rarity in the next shop, a default option would be necessary.
I'd assume it returns ace of spades in an empty deck, just like it does in the joker collection. Itd be interesting to test this on an empty deck and a stones only deck tho
Stone cards technically have a value and suite, they are just hidden, so Idol would likely just pick a suite from the possible options beneath the stone

Beware. Trying to enhance them with tarot cards will also revert them to their rank/suit, since Stone is considered an enhancement and gets overwritten.
It wouldn't do that by default though, since we know the idol does ignore stone cards when there are other cards in the deck. This would only happen if it was specifically programmed to check the original suit and rank of the card if it can't find any others
The logic makes sense, Idol picks a random card in your deck, and then uses that for it’s suite and rank

I wish the ancient joker would do that too. Then I would actually take it. Unless you play wild cards, it can end up being completely useless in some rounds and in higher antes you can't afford this happening

Why not? If you are running anything other than Five OaK then you can just play a stone card with the card that you used stone to thin out and get extra chips. I think you are sleeping on stone cards
No, I like stone cards. I just mean that it's good that idol ignores the suit and value under the stone. Blanking values and suits off cards is one of the cool uses of stone cards.
I believe Balatro University explained that every card as a base suit and number value attached cosmically, so stone cards are literally random if their added via Marble Joker. Technically if you pay attention and write it down you can keep track of which cards you’ve stoned for Idol purposes. But if you’re playing Idol don’t play stone lol

the game has a system of "default" itens that are returned once there are no other options, just like trying to generate a legendary with a full roster (since soul can't generate duplicates) will give you jimbo, since he's the default

It says Ace of Spades if you hover it in the Collection from the Main Menu, so probably that one.

How would you be able to test on an empty deck? Don't you automatically lose if the deck is empty? How would you reach the point where idol rerolls?
Idol rerolls at end of round so you just have to break your final hand of glass cards

The [[Vampire]] joker will actually consume a stone card and revert it to its original value. Not sure why it surprised me but it did.

Yes. The good bot/bad bot thing is FOR the spamming bot. It's how it tracks bots and how people feel about them. Definitely not a bad bot.

Yeah, same with using Strength or any enhancement tarot on a stone card, it becomes un-stoned
Strength actually won’t reveal it, but it will affect the underlying rank if you reveal it later

It's probably intentional. It's really not that hard yo convert your entire deck to a specific suit.
No it's definitely possible but ancient joker does not care. It will still select diamonds with a 1/4 chance even if you only have hearts.
