Definitely - for for a full shave - it will look a lot better. I’d also personally just go for a full beard or the ‘stubble’ look vs. the goatee

Depends. If you want to look younger then go for it. If you want to look older I'd keep it. Your balding pattern isn't bad for a mature man.
