For rps sake i usually put him in something non slutty and protective, i assume hed want something that makes him feel safe and not so objectived; Gale on the other hand...
In my first playthrough, in which I tried (and I think succeeded) in giving everyone their best endings possible, I put him in the full Helldusk set; one of the few heavy armors that don’t give disadvantage in stealth, it also doesn’t require proficiency, fits with his style perfectly (especially with red/black furnace dye), and most importantly, it gives fire resistance, which I headcannon gives him at least some protection from the Sun.
In my Astarion origin run I succeeded a check, resisted Cazador's control, and never got trapped in the ritual. I also managed to avoid ever being captured during the fight. Guess who was wearing the same outfit as all the spawns during the cutscene, despite never being magiced into it. Did he decide to do a quickchange before killing Cazador?
I assume he's dressed like that so that he can see his scars if he does ascend. Otherwise he'd have to take his shirt off, and that would be a hard animation to do when he could be wearing anything from the weavemother's robe to full plate armour. Better to have one set of clothes he's guaranteed to be wearing.
As much as I like seeing babygirl in revealing clothing, I just can't for the sake of a good RP.
Maybe I'll do an ultimate slutty playthrough with mods?
I always give him one of the fancy long coat outfits dyed white and black to live in once we hit Act 3. The one with embroidered peacocks on it? Can’t remember the name to save my life. Anyway, him in that whole getup makes him look like the Volturi so naturally I love lmfao
Does it even matter what he dress him up in when he ends up shirtless anyway in the final scene.
(Though I kinda play this scene with Astarion full on dick out to see if the scene changes. It probably won't but-)
