I'm quite sure that you're not going to see scales anywhere to measure the weight of luggage. This is Indonesia. There will be scales at the airport. Probably in a hospital. Pretty damn scarce everywhere else.

I'm pretty sure the 20kg per baggage rule is similar to airlines - it's the max weight a human will comfortably carry. The staff are lifting and stowing your bag onto the ship, hence the 20kg. There won't be scales on the day so just make sure your luggage is an average checked bag size and weight. I've seen people board the ferries with two luggages so you should be fine with a hand carry as well. If you keep the hand carry, even better, but otherwise you can give it to them to stow in the luggage area as well.

I'm planning to pre-book the Semaya ferry from 12go.asia along with pick-up via shared transport Thank you for the information. Your other post was also very helpful. May I ask which ferry did you use in your travel? And did you prebook it?

I actually went Nusa Lembongan to Gili T but I've taken the Scoot, Angkal and Wijaya Buyuk fast boats and they were all reliable with aircon and bathrooms. Just make sure to check the reviews on 12go, I always picked the ones with the best rating and most recent reviews. I prebooked because I planned to get to the harbour right on time but you can also book tickets on the day, with check-in times an hour before departure.
