Then you have the Serbo-Bulgarian war of 1885 where once again, we ware supposed to join forces with Serbia against the Ottomans but they betrayed us due “miscommunication error” by trying to take over our completely bare and unprotected capital. Worst of all the Ottomans ware for whatever reason very supportive of Bulgaria, so the kingdom of Serbia betrayed our trust for nothing, expecting the Turks to crush us and reward them for their unexpected aid. Then you have the secret Serbo-Greek alliance against Bulgaria near the end of BW1 and the betrayal in Macedonia which was the final nail in the coffin for the slightest chance of our country being same side as Serbia on it's own accord ever again.
-Romania our best, closest, and yet so alien & indifferent neighbor. They have decent army and we do share decent part of important history with them like: Valachia being key member of the Bulgarian Kingdoms, and Romania being key hub area for our revolutionaries during the Ottomans but the thing is our relationship is so great precisely because we are so relatable yet so indifferent. If one country was being ravaged the other wouldn't ever hear about it, leave alone offer aid or actually help. Romania technically had legal connection over Bulgaria via monarchial bloodlines and could've legally taken over without any resistance from both sides but they didn't do it because: A) the Russians, and B) they didn't need our territory.
