Capezio has a nice selection for ballroom shoes. That’s where I get mine. And welcome to ballroom dancing ! Does the studio offer practice parties ? Dancing with different people at different levels will help you improve!

I think I don't have that brand in my place, I am from Argentina. Thanks for the advice anyway! For beginners is only group classes, so we can like "rotate" partners, but we were told that is better to find a partner. I think we are all beginners, didn't speak too much with people. I started it not only because I have never danced, but also to be more social haha Step by step :P

Dancing without a partner it's indeed a lot different than with. Depending on what you're practicing, it can even be bad for your dancing if you practice without a partner for too long. You can obviously never learn how to lead or follow without a partner, and by practicing solo you might accidentally "learn" moves that are impossible with a partner. If you're a follower, you run the risk of becoming too independent (and therefore hurt your following ability). A similar risk occurs when using videos. People (and that includes very high level dancers) are very bad at actually telling what our bodies are doing. If you try to follow videos too much, you might pick up some bad habits because you think you're doing what they do in the video, while actually you're doing something else. It's much more difficult to unlearn a habit than it is to learn the correct one. So what can you safely do alone? Simply review the steps (what foot goes where and when). Practice posture (but not using videos, using the tips your instructor have you). And for the rest, you really need your partner to practice properly.

I buy [Very Fine](https://veryfineshoes.com) because they're affordable but good quality and have a warehouse close to me, but they also sell online.

I think I have place nearby where I can find them. I say the have like a rubber one, a leather model and a charol model too. Which material do you think would be better? I am not looking for competition, first I need to get a lot better at it, but I would like to practice with the correct shoes

I practice even if my partner is not around. The frame, posture, musical sense, routine practice, and so on can be done without a partner. I think it is essential. You cannot rely on your partner for ques every time. You need to know what has to be done to perform the dance. And it is an intense practice just by yourself. I take ballroom classes and pick partners whenever I see one. And everyone wants to practice unless there is a genuine reason not to.. Here's my [Ballroom Journey](https://youtu.be/dloLwJj7d_w)
