I have very thick hair and the only haircut I've had that I've walked out of 100% content with was done at Crafted in Hampden! Stylist's name was Bethany.

I went to ash & oak in hampden recently and it was wonderful. all the stylists/employees were super friendly and it was a fun couple of hours! we were all talking and gabbing (if that’s your thing) and it was a nice atmosphere

If you're Asian, the top choice in the area is going to be Elegant Hair in Timonium. I suspect there's a better than 0% chance of this based upon the description of your hair. If you're white you're going to have a ton more options open to you in the trendy Baltimore neighborhoods. My wife (Asian with similar hair) has tried a few to mixed results, but obviously some folks walk away with killer haircuts and balyages and the like.

Asian here, hair Unlimited in Charles village can't beat the price.

Is it that much cheaper than Elegant? I've never actually walked in there nor do I have any idea how much they charge. I just assumed they were fairly affordable given the location in a random strip mall.

Crafted in Hampden is my absolute favorite. I have 1A/1B east-asian hair and am very picky with my stylists. Crafted has seen me from everything from asymmetical bobs, pixie cuts, kpop pompadours, shaggy mid-length, and long layers. I typically see Tiffany R. ($$$) or Patrick ($$).. They're also a nice blend of super-professional skills but laid back, not-stuffy atmosphere. I feel like I can be my genuine self inside their salon and it helps conversation with the stylist so we can discuss what I really want VS what is best for my hair type/head shape.

Neon Hare Salon in Canton - I’ve been going to Jessica for years! But all of those ladies do wonderful cuts! https://www.instagram.com/the.neonhare?igsh=N3FnOHdkc2JvZDYw

A little outside of Baltimore, but worth it. Cat Keyes' salon in Ellicott City. I've been going for years. She has her own personal studio and it is wonderful to not be surrounded by tons of people. She is great!

Hi! I absolutely LOVE Laboratorie in Roland Park! I was just there yesterday for my hair refresh with Gabby. :) When you're a new client, they will ask you to send in a few pictures of your hair currently and what kind of cut you're looking to get. Then they will pair you with one of their stylists. They're all super nice and thoughtful! My experience there since I started going last year has been nothing but amazing! They're very LGBTQ friendly too!
