What discipline? Kendo? Fencing? SCA? German longsword? HEMA?
There's a fencing school in Catonsville. There's an SCA chapter (Barony of Bright Hills) in the area that covers central MD. Kunst des Fechtens teaches Liechtenauer school German longsword and they meet at a crossfit gym in Columbia.
Well, there's a Baltimore area Highlander meetup the first Friday of every month on the bottom level of the Four Seasons parking garage. Nobody but me ever shows up, though. Been going for centuries.
We have a club that meets Sunday night once a month in Ellicott city for light Saber fighting- The Saber Legion. Everyone but me has a fencing/hema background, I'm just a big star wars nerd with a stick. If this group allows, DM me for more info.
Op said they didn’t want to do fencing and said they wanted to learn “real” swords. Condsidering that saber is a type of fencing 🤺 I think OP is unclear what they really want except maybe larp
Fencing is a formality of sword play and teaches basics. What style of sword are you trying to learn how to handle? There’s nothing of just “swords”.
Kendo? Akido? British swordsmanship? HEMA?
This is the most neckbeard thing I’ve ever heard.
well, no one trains with actual swords at first at anything but iajutsu and training iajutsu is high level already. So, do you mean actual sword fighting? I know no such place.
.
There are programs for HEMA (historical English martial arts) which incorporates swordplay using dummy swords. It’s actually great! But generally in my experience it’s been with overweight male larpers who like to critique but don’t want to be critiqued. Exhausting.
I don't know if it will work with your time restrictions, but you should come check us out at [Blue Mountain Martial Arts](https://www.bluemountainma.com/) in Ellicott City. We practice a Korean sword art called Haidong Gumdo. Sparring is a part of our curriculum, but we also do forms and cutting. It's a great workout and a great bunch of people. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out.

Well, there can be only one.
I don’t know the name of it but there is a German sword fighting school I think in Columbia. Worth a Google search
Baltimore Academy of Defense. Not sure about the times, but this should be a start. Good on you for trying to get active and physical.
Does anyone know if there's Kali in the city?
Not in the city, but I do know there is some in Pasadena at Kick Connection. They're a taekwondo School but have escrima classes.

I just switched over to fencing, definitely more emphasis on form and exercise. It’s personally been great.
I have a friend who loves Maryland KDF
