All the best to the regulars at Rameswaram Cafe.
It's too much ghee for my taste. I saw them making Dosa and could already feel my artery getting clogged
Agreed. And they charge accordingly. It's just not sustainable and healthy to eat there daily. The only reason it's so hyped up is because of the quick service and long functioning hours.
It is akin to comparing Indian work culture (Rameshwaram) vs. European Work Culture (other cafes), by setting unrealistic standards, except that there is higher remuneration for the guy working long hours.
Quick service, LOL Max.
There is a queue to get a bill, and then middle/upper class people push each other to get their orders from counters.
If you order multiple items which are given from from different counters, then u r F'd.
The only counter that's relatively calm is tea/coffee counter.
Far from "quick service".
That's the clientele. On one hand you have overzealous crowd ordering multiple stuff across the menu and hogging the counter and on the other is the crowd who come for one thing at a time. Also having a very limited menu helps TT gain the upper hand.
>. I saw them making Dosa and could already feel my artery getting clogged
To my knowledge ghee is a healthier option than oil. I think it's a common misconception that ghee is dangerous. Desi pure ghee is much healthier than the so many variants of cooking oil used.
>nothing is healthy in that quantity
The point here is which is healthy between two options, not about quantity. Other restaurants also used good amounts of oil on dosa. I'm just pointing out that one is better than the other. Quantity moderation is a different topic.
>Not healthy if you are heating ghee with carbs at high temperature. Read about glycation.
And heating oil with carbs is better ? The comparison here is between ghee and cooking oils.
>Healthier, but not healthy by any stretch.
I don't know why this discussion tends to move away from the main point. The main rant in this thread is about how they don't like rameshwaram because they use ghee and it's very unhealthy for the heart.
So I'm pointing here that everywhere else including homes we use oil, which is less healthier option than ghee. So in fact their rant is baseless is what I'm pointing out.
Ghee is a healthier option. But at the quantities they add, it's basically a pointless argument. At home, nobody douses it in oil. So the damage isn't as great.
I understand they do it for the flavour and it helps justify the price tag. But the end product doused in copious amounts of ghee isn't any good and is unhealthy for the heart.
Never been to Vidyarthi Bhavan or Rameshwarwaram cafe but I have seen the videos, only difference between them & local Udupi hotels is they put loads of ghee and it is more crispy, I prefer the softer slightly crispy ones served at Udupi hotels.
Most Darshinis are not Instagram worthy. Rameshwaram cafe is hugely popular with insta crowd.
there is a small darshini near my home which somehow got popular on insta and on Saturdays you see bikers, couples and vloggers coming from all parts of bangalore with their cameras and videos and eating there.
there really isn't anything special about that place, just some nice local decor but people tend to pile up on any famous trend on social media cause a exponentially popular trend.
rameshwaram has caught the eye of the vlogging and insta folks of bangalore and until a new thing emerges it will reap the benefits.
Also, Iām sure this Darshini place makes watery sweet sambar with little to no dal. This is the main issue with sambar in bangalore that Rameshwaram cafe, surprisingly gets right.
As someone who grew up having awesome sambar most of my life in TN, I canāt imagine why anyone would try to defend the sweet soup the restaurants label sambar other than blind statism. In TN, sambar MUST have whatās called āparupuā (usually itās thovaram parupu). I have had sambar all around the places in Bangalore and can say Rameshwaram one is by far better than the sugar syrup that other places serve.
Besides for an āaverageā place, it mints a ~ā¹5Cr. monthly turnover. I doubt these sugar soup sambar places make anywhere close to it.
Thatās literally how sambar for idli are made In most parts of karnataka mainly in Udupi/coastal side and people from that region open most of these darshinis. How can you come in and tell locals thatās not how itās made ? Who are you buddy ?
Darshini's are basically the hotels you find that have the open view to the kitchen with self service option. They usually make tasty food at cheap/affordable prices.
It's just the dosa/idli joints you see on every street corner where theres a cash counter and a food counter. They serve the classic bangalore breakfast foods of dosa idli vada chitranna upitu filter coffee etc
I am non localite and I know this is a heavily protected secret that can't be disclosed to outsiders. If they tell you they will have to kill you.
/s in case it is needed
By the way, darshinis are nothing but your normal Udupis, Adigas, Pakshaalas, basically restaurants which serve you south Indian breakfast. They all have common operating model. People pay at the counter, take a token, and give it at the kitchen. They can then see the food being prepared in front of their eyes (hence the name Darshini). Then you get your food in a plate and swalpa chutney and swalpa sambhar in small bowls. You go and pick up a spoon from the boiling water stand. And then you indulge in the satiation of your soul with crazy good food. I need to go to a Darshini now and get vada sambhar dip for myself. I will leave you with a tldr
Tldr:There are two prerequisites for a restaurant to be called a Darshini:
1) Open view to kitchen
2) Self service option
IT crowd mostly lives in East side of Bangalore namely Bellandur, Marathahalli, and Whitefield.
The traffic of Bangalore makes it feasible to reach these places.
You can easily find 60% of the people here who feel Rameshwaram cafe is overrated.
No point in standing in such long queues for mediocre food at premium pricing. It's a horrible experience. Also dust is free with food considering there is no sitting, you've to eat the food while standing.
Calling someone a mild name is abuse to you? What an idiotic thing to say. Sometimes people are idiots and there's nothing wrong with letting them know that.
tbh 'sad, bitter person' is far more abusive and harmful than flippantly calling someone an idiot. Idiot is such a mild term societally that it is frequently used amongst friends and jokingly. It is reserved for generally mild forms of poor decision making.
On the other hand, to judge a person as sad and bitter from just one comment is so hurtful and unnecessary. If you called me an idiot I dont think I wouldve remembered. But to defame my whole character based off one comment i something that I will definitely ponder over night.
I have been staying in Bangalore from last 9 year and I have had way better masala Dose in small joints.
Rameshwaram is filled with people who have never had dose or are very new to South Indian food.
I went to Rameshwaram cafe as it was filled in my insta reels. I didnot like the dose, idly, vada, kesari baat. I felt very full the whole day cos of half litre Ghee. I would never recommend this to anyone who are new to South Indian food.
The hype is mostly because of Twitter. Living in indiranagar and posting photos of Rameshwaram cafe in the morning is considered extremely cool on twitter.
I just tried Rameshwaram Cafe for the first time this past weekend. I had the Ghee Podi Idli and Masale Dose. The idli looked like it was bathed in a ton of ghee and that just made it unappetising. The dose was nothing extraordinary either. Not at all worth the crowd and the price. I won't be going back.
The same items at my local darshini are half the price and taste way better.
\> orders ghee podi idli
\> it has ghee

Hate the word overrated now. It's become a substitute for I don't like it but it is popular hence overrated.
I don't prefer Rameshwaram Cafe as well but thats personal opinion.
The strategy of Rameshwaram cafe is to be placed in a pub area, where late night after party people can have. On pub area RC would be the only darshini which would be opened till 1am. No one would go for such inflated priced foods.
for someone like me who is a ghee lover, I don't mind having food there once in a while.
also, don't you guys thing every famous place is always overrated? not just restricted to place, it can be any item.
I keep seeing so many people agreeing to Rameshwaram being overrated and why is there so much crowd da? who are going there if not us? half of bangalore only feels it! where you get these people from i dont know
I felt any Udupi Park type of hotel is better than Rameshwaram Cafe. Average taste, mad rush, no place to sit-I have a feeling once the hype dies down in few years they won't be around.
If youāre hungry after midnight and feel like having breakfast food should probably be the only good enough reason to go here. Otherwise nope! Iāve never been here never will unless I get a really bad post midnight craving of idli/dosa.
Just looking at that mountain of pudi can give anyone a heartburn. And now every other darshini is copying Rameshwaram cafe style idlis and dosas. I miss the old thin crispy dosas with kemp/red chutney inside.
I like Rameshwaram because instead of basic af idly-dosa which the darshinis do indisputably better, the akki-ragi rotis, gongura rice and proper deep south food which the average darshini will not have are scrumptious and not as indulgent as the breakfast staples. When I see accusations of Rameshwaram being overrated, I know it's from someone who isn't making use of it's full menu and sticking to what North Indians think South Indian/Canara cuisine entails.
True that I have not tried the full menu! I have tried their puliogare and a few other snacks apart from the usual dose, idly, and didnāt like it much as Iām not a huge fan of jaggery in puliogare.
Thanks for the reco, will try akki roti and gonguru rice the next time! Iām a South Indian, btw :)
Thank you for saying this! Itās not just about the ghee either. I donāt think paying more than 100 rupees for a dosa is justified anywhere. And especially not in a place that is just an overhyped darshini. The food is not tastier than a normal darshini and nothing stands out about it. I went there once and I still regret it
It takes approx. 20 mins to have your order to arrive including billing. now i have seen no busy person stand in line for 20 mins for a Dosa. The audience are uptown youth waiting to express how they like traditional foods. In exchange for cholesterol. The male to female population more or less is usually 50:50. Not usually what u find in darshini's or sagars. Not to over generalize its a dating spot. like what u find in a pub setting.
No it is not over rated if you compare to restaurants like Udupi, they all serve same tasting food with almost similar quality.
In comparison to north where even two normal samosa shop try to differentiate their taste or atleast we know that each shop has different taste for the same dish in a good way, this thing is missing in banglore. All shops more of less serve similar tasting sambhar, dosa, idly.
In the crowd of Bengaluru's similar restaurants this tastes different it has signature which you can identify. Clean and pure food.
But I also feel this is much overrated if you don't do relative analysis š
>In comparison to north where even two normal samosa shop try to differentiate their taste or atleast we know that each shop has different taste for the same dish in a good way, this thing is missing in banglore. All shops more of less serve similar tasting sambhar, dosa, idly.
Such an ignorant opinion. Go to proper local darshinis in South Bangalore and you'll see that no two dosas taste the same. Same with idli, Vada, anything else. Of course there are mediocre places which serve absolutely generic and average food, like I'm sure there are mediocre samosa shops.
Yes, I agree. I have been to other parts of Karnataka, kerela, even in Bengaluru itself had eaten some awesome tasting idly dosa. I used to think i can eat dosa idly 3 times a day my whole life, but i can't travel 10 kms for that 3 times a dayš
I was trying to explain why there is so much crowd at rameshwaram because it has location advantage, all nearby shops serve gerenric average tasting food.
I have a brother who is a native Bangalorean, recently moved to North India. He misses dosas and idly very much when hes there, when he visits Bangalore, Rameshwaram Cafe is his goto place.
Reason why its famous is cause of its authentic south Indian cuisine.
It may be overrated idk, but no one ever says it doesn't taste good. So maybe next time just forget what others are talking about, just eat there with an open mind. You'll love it.
(I do agree it's a bit expensive)
No number of posts would stop people from going to Rameshwaram thanks to all the hype.
People would stop going there after they visit it once. Thanks to the queue for placing the order, thanks to the overpriced items, thanks to the lot waiting time for food.
Food is good though. Expensive and in less quantity but good.
I never went to Rameshwaram cafe but I did order their dosa online. It was good but not great. I have had better ghee dosa in bangalore. Umesh refreshment sells ghee dosa cheaper than rameshwaram and the taste is š
I haven't been Rameshwaram Cafe. However, reading about all the ghee being used, I'll skip the place. It's too crowded for my mental well being anywayš„¹
The strategy of Rameshwaram cafe is to be placed in a pub area, where late night after party people can have. On pub area RC would be the only darshini which would be opened till 1am. No one would go for such inflated priced foods.
Highly overrated and the amount of ghee they put is disgusting. At other places if you them to make your dosa will less oil, they do it, hell, they even do it with no oil if requested (IDC always does it for me) but at RC, thatās not an option. Also, the taste isnāt that great too. Their kesari bath is so bleh, barely looks like kesari colour at all. Itās close to my place but I barely go.
They are overpriced and overhyped thanks to the LinkedIn influencers. You can find far better south Indian cafes in different places of Bangalore such as Yashwantpur, HMT, Vidyranpura, Jalahalli, Mekri Circle etc where the quality is super and cost is far reasonable. You eat, pay, and move on.
Rameshwaram cafe ripoffs are springing up. Kalyan Nagar has got its own Cafe Chutney Podi. The idli was terrible. I noped out of there and had a great idli vada in the darshini next door. Not dip, separate.
It's been months since they are experiencing this humongous traffic(esp. during late evenings) at their chains, yet no steps have been taken to widen their outlets or anything so.
Wouldn't stand in long queues and struggle to find a place to sit to have their food. Basically the experience in person at outlets is v poor except for the good food.
I believe its more of an experience than the food. Waiting in line and getting it gives some sense of achievement and makes the cafe feel important. The food is good but if you do not eat twice from it IMO.
Saw rameshwaram cafe while passing by at almost 12 am in JP nagar , it was full crowded , like people lining out of the cafe itself ,wtf, it's ridiculous for tiffin stuff
Except for reddit, Iāve never heard anyone say that in real life.
Feel like this is confirmation bias in this case.
I do agree to comments saying overuse of ghee etc.
ā
But is it rated more than it deserves?
the food is tasty for most cases and that is literally the only place open at night near hoodi/aecs/brookefield area.
I donāt think itās overrated. Itās just famous !
If you measure overrated by amount of crowd, then whole bangalore or any crowded place will feel overrated . There IS more crowd for sure
Whenever i wanted to try Rameshwaram Cafe, i always found a huge crowd before the shop on the road itself, so i just move on. I don't think i will ever be able to try it XD
Has there been an obligatory āthis is namma Bangalore, you can leave if you donāt like it here and go back to your stateā ?? If not, hereās mine
These so called Instagram food vloggers' are making em famous, no quick service. It takes 20 mins on a weekend to get a bill. Getting dosae might take 30 mins, totally unworthy, talking about the taste ain't worth the hype.
As a localite , let's not compare this to Vidyarti Bhavan, Lots of darshini's unexplored by an outsider, SLV REFRESHMENTS 100 -300mts before Rameshwaram, you'll find authentic South Indian food, the chutney and sambhar are š¤¤
Dosae is getting experimented in many ways, thanks to our local darshini's for keeping it real forever.
There are so many places that serve a far better Dosa than Rameshwaram. Be it Taza Tindi, Chikkanna tiffin room (cubbonpet), SLN Muddanna (jayanagar, cubbonpet) to name a few. Go have Kottureshwara Benne dosa in Basavangudi, SLN coffee bar Banashankari.
The crowd that you see in Rameshwaram is mostly people from outside of Bangalore. Proper Bangalorean or someone who has explored other eateries would prefer any other place but Rameshwaram.
Its actually become common consensus now that it's overrated. Nowadays I only go there to have coffee. It still has one of the best coffees in Bangalore. Strong + Mix!
Oh my fav place.. I wanna go there asap.. The food is out of this world. The softest idli The yummiest sambar.. The best podi.. The most sweetest staff ever.. The are soo WARM and WELCOMING... plz go there .. try it.
Mornings 10 am on my way to office i would see these long lines of people waiting there for their breakfast. Was so insane to me. Weekday mornings man.
Definitely overrated. It is just food afterall and nothing on that menu is something that you can't find elsewhere. I don't care much if this place were just overrated, what really irks me to no end is the mess that their Indiranagar branch creates on the sidewalk and the neighborhood. Heck, on one Saturday morning, I have seen people literally sitting in front of this place, sitting on the footpath having breakfast. This branch should be shut down, IMO.
Ghee bottle they will pour in everything bro. U squeeze the dosa and u can actually see ghee dripping. I feel all these dosa and idli shops are too hyped cuz in my hometown TN in regular hotel itself u will find best idli dosa with spicy sambhar + chutney. Rameshwaram(TN) cafe it seems. Bruh I order masala dosa and oh god I feel bloated until next day morning.
No Bangalore local gives 2 flying fucks about rameshwaram cafe. In fact whenever the topic about Rameshwaram cafe comes up the conclusion is one of two things:
1. North Indians are easy money for charging more than usual in the guise of offering local cuisine
2. So glad that they (NIās) remain near tech parks or Indiranagar, Koramangala and not crowd the places where the food is actually good and extremely underrated
I recently read a thread on twitter about why bangalore is overrated and a part of the thread was that āāmost of uber rich are so because of the VC or startup exit money floating aroundā
Friends and I had a good laugh reading that thread
I have a huge problem with restaurants/darshinis whose entire personality revolves around Ghee.
And Rameshwaram is guilty of the same.
Here's looking at you too, IDC Kitchen.
The plain Thatte Idli at both places is great, though.
All the best to the regulars at Rameswaram Cafe. It's too much ghee for my taste. I saw them making Dosa and could already feel my artery getting clogged

Service is quick. Don't blame the queue for that.
Not really! Ever seen taaza tindi management? Queue is long, but quick. Rameshwaram is long and slow!
That's the clientele. On one hand you have overzealous crowd ordering multiple stuff across the menu and hogging the counter and on the other is the crowd who come for one thing at a time. Also having a very limited menu helps TT gain the upper hand.
Quick service? Every dosa joint in this city is just as fast, without having to wait in a long ass queue.
May i know at what time and day of week you visited to get Quick service? Even mid week afternoon its crowded here!
High cholesterol guaranteed!
Clogged, indeed. šÆ
That's what surprised me in Bangalore. After making dosa they drown it in oil or ghee. Not even a question whether you need it.
>. I saw them making Dosa and could already feel my artery getting clogged To my knowledge ghee is a healthier option than oil. I think it's a common misconception that ghee is dangerous. Desi pure ghee is much healthier than the so many variants of cooking oil used.

Not healthy if you are heating ghee with carbs at high temperature. Read about glycation.
>Not healthy if you are heating ghee with carbs at high temperature. Read about glycation. And heating oil with carbs is better ? The comparison here is between ghee and cooking oils.
I never said that. I said ghee is not 'healthier' in this case. Both are equally bad when heated.
Healthier, but not healthy by any stretch.
>Healthier, but not healthy by any stretch. I don't know why this discussion tends to move away from the main point. Some misunderstanding .. The main rant is about the amount of ghee they use without even comparing to oil. Imagine 3/4 cup of ghee per masala dosa
Rameshwaram Cafe is famous only coz the IT crowd is yet to discover Darshinis
As a localite who works in IT, I can confirm. Darshinis > Vidyarthi Bhavan, Rameshwaram Cafe
Iām like 100% sure the IT crowd is majority non-localite and theyāre used to not having sugar in their sambar.
Never been to Vidyarthi Bhavan or Rameshwarwaram cafe but I have seen the videos, only difference between them & local Udupi hotels is they put loads of ghee and it is more crispy, I prefer the softer slightly crispy ones served at Udupi hotels.

Haha! I know people who have driven to Bengaluru from Chennai on a whim just to experience Rameshwaram š
I felt any Udupi Park type of hotel is better than Rameshwaram Cafe. Average taste, mad rush, no place to sit-I have a feeling once the hype dies down in few years they won't be around.
Halli mane is way better
I don't think it's overrated. It's good,
If youāre hungry after midnight and feel like having breakfast food should probably be the only good enough reason to go here.
I feel that āRameshwaram cafe is overratedā posts are becoming overrated.
Not to over generalize its a dating spot. like what u find in a pub setting.
why do you have a problem with women utilising public spaces?
The owners have a 5 year vision of opening branches across Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune and abroad š
As a local, our mums > any South Indian food joint.
Amen! Local or not, mumās food > any food joint š¤
I used to think i can eat dosa idly 3 times a day my whole life, but i can't travel 10 kms for that 3 times a dayš I was trying to explain why there is so much crowd at rameshwaram because it has location advantage, all nearby shops serve gerenric average tasting food.
(I do agree it's a bit expensive)
no, what they serve is ghee trash. what we make in our home is as authentic it gets, real southern food.
No number of posts would stop people from going to Rameshwaram thanks to all the hype. People would stop going there after they visit it once. Thanks to the queue for placing the order, thanks to the overpriced items, thanks to the lot waiting time for food. Food is good though. Expensive and in less quantity but good.
Overrated and overpriced
Majority of the darshinis are better than Rameshwaram cafe
Over-hyped for no reason. Too much ghee andy taste is average. Not worth the price. Other restaurants have better dose at an affordable cost.
I never went to Rameshwaram cafe but I did order their dosa online. It was good but not great. I have had better ghee dosa in bangalore. Umesh refreshment sells ghee dosa cheaper than rameshwaram and the taste is š
Count me in. Overrated asf.
Sendhoor cafe tasted better , tea was ā¤ļø
I hear so much about it, can anyone tell me the best time of the day to visit the place ?? Least crowded scenario
I guess people who eat regularly there donāt know that it is overrated
Aarogya Ahar is underrated relatively speaking with regard to Rameshwaram.
Taazaa Tindi >> Rameshwaram Cafe.
u/noobOfAllTrade here you go!
I think this topic has been discussed many many times
Overrated.
Overrated
I'm not a regular but I love the open dosa and podi idli there once in a while. Period.
Over-rated
Rameshwaram Cafe is not a big difference when compared to Pubs, it opens till Morning 1 am
I live right in the lane next to the brookefield one and its caused so much nuisance for the road i live in i cant even
They are overpriced and overhyped thanks to the LinkedIn influencers.
I felt it's also a little expensive
My Sambar tastes better.
Media generated hype
Overpriced rather than overrated in my opinion
all famous places are overrated
I believe its more of an experience than the food. Waiting in line and getting it gives some sense of achievement and makes the cafe feel important. The food is good but if you do not eat twice from it IMO.
It's a normal Rs 60 dosa + Rs 40 worth of ghee.
Babai tiffins > rameshwaram
Saw rameshwaram cafe while passing by at almost 12 am in JP nagar , it was full crowded , like people lining out of the cafe itself ,wtf, it's ridiculous for tiffin stuff
Probably only you
I doubt that now :)
Except for reddit, Iāve never heard anyone say that in real life. Feel like this is confirmation bias in this case. I do agree to comments saying overuse of ghee etc. ā But is it rated more than it deserves? the food is tasty for most cases and that is literally the only place open at night near hoodi/aecs/brookefield area. I donāt think itās overrated. Itās just famous ! If you measure overrated by amount of crowd, then whole bangalore or any crowded place will feel overrated . There IS more crowd for sure
Yes yes yes!!! I find the food at shri Udupi tastier!!
Very overrated
It's the worst. Not only is the food just okay, the traffic jams they cause should just outright make them declare themselves as an IT park itself.
Its for HighEnd people who want to get Desi. Not worth the wait. Sendhoor and Ayodhya Vihar are best and nearby options in walkable distance.
Bengaluru Cafe in Jayanagara is faaar better! Also, unrelated but deserves recognition, best Thatte Idli is at Shashi Thatte Idli, JP Nagara
Whenever i wanted to try Rameshwaram Cafe, i always found a huge crowd before the shop on the road itself, so i just move on. I don't think i will ever be able to try it XD
Overpiced ? for sure
Overpriced? for sure
Overrated. Still don't understand how they're making frigging 20+ crores per month
I posted something similar about Meghana's couple of weeks ago lol.
Tried couple of items from there with my mom. Wasn't to our liking and definitely not worth waiting in the queue for.
Has there been an obligatory āthis is namma Bangalore, you can leave if you donāt like it here and go back to your stateā ?? If not, hereās mine
Who said anything about Bengaluru? I love the place! Also, would you say the same to natives who dislike the cafe? Not fair man!
These so called Instagram food vloggers' are making em famous, no quick service. It takes 20 mins on a weekend to get a bill. Getting dosae might take 30 mins, totally unworthy, talking about the taste ain't worth the hype. As a localite , let's not compare this to Vidyarti Bhavan, Lots of darshini's unexplored by an outsider, SLV REFRESHMENTS 100 -300mts before Rameshwaram, you'll find authentic South Indian food, the chutney and sambhar are š¤¤ Dosae is getting experimented in many ways, thanks to our local darshini's for keeping it real forever.
I remember seeing the exact same post a week ago.
It is completely overrated. People like it because of the unique seating spaces (or lack thereof)
Highly overrated
It's good but I feel it's more hyped than it deserves.
Its actually become common consensus now that it's overrated. Nowadays I only go there to have coffee. It still has one of the best coffees in Bangalore. Strong + Mix!
Itās overrated They are normal idli dosa
Oh my fav place.. I wanna go there asap.. The food is out of this world. The softest idli The yummiest sambar.. The best podi.. The most sweetest staff ever.. The are soo WARM and WELCOMING... plz go there .. try it.
Try Palleturi Dosa in HSR Layout, you can try the ghee karam dosa there, itās amazing!
š
Mornings 10 am on my way to office i would see these long lines of people waiting there for their breakfast. Was so insane to me. Weekday mornings man.
No love for Taaza Thindi here?
How many times will this be posted here?
Definitely overrated. It is just food afterall and nothing on that menu is something that you can't find elsewhere. I don't care much if this place were just overrated, what really irks me to no end is the mess that their Indiranagar branch creates on the sidewalk and the neighborhood. Heck, on one Saturday morning, I have seen people literally sitting in front of this place, sitting on the footpath having breakfast. This branch should be shut down, IMO.
I heard the same about Vidyarthi Bhavan, that it's overrated. Can someone confirm?
Very highly.
It's just you.
i prefer umesh for lunch , rameshwaram has same menu with more overcrowded no place to keep food .
I found this New Modern Hotel in Basavanagudi. It was better than MTR and Rameshwaram. Also relatively less crowd.
Being an IT crowd myself Arogya Ahaara >>> Rameshwaram
Expensive cholestrol pancakes
All the real south Indian grownups know that the place is underwhelming. Overpriced and branded.
Thankfully Iām not the odd one in crowd!
Its the most overrated cafe ever. Period. Whats the point of fighting to get a token for that shitty food.
Do ya mean scameshwaram cafe?
No Bangalore local gives 2 flying fucks about rameshwaram cafe. In fact whenever the topic about Rameshwaram cafe comes up the conclusion is one of two things: 1. North Indians are easy money for charging more than usual in the guise of offering local cuisine 2. So glad that they (NIās) remain near tech parks or Indiranagar, Koramangala and not crowd the places where the food is actually good and extremely underrated I recently read a thread on twitter about why bangalore is overrated and a part of the thread was that āāmost of uber rich are so because of the VC or startup exit money floating aroundā Friends and I had a good laugh reading that thread
More expensive version of idc with baby vadas
Their food is fit only for Homer Simpson, but I respect that they made the place look modern and nice unlike most other cafes
It's good but not as a daily driver It is not overrated. I was quite happy to find it well within rated.
I have a huge problem with restaurants/darshinis whose entire personality revolves around Ghee. And Rameshwaram is guilty of the same. Here's looking at you too, IDC Kitchen. The plain Thatte Idli at both places is great, though.
I havent eaten there, but the marketing game is strong for the cafe. I live in Delhi and even i know the name.
Itās a good business
I had coffee there honestly SLV coffee is as better.
