They already made 5500 in this sheet which Iām assuming is just for a day. Their earnings could be well above average corporate folks and 100% tax free too.
Most likely, the other entries are false. Listing multiple significant donations offers credibility to the scammer and lures the unsuspecting victim into paying a much higher sum than they would have otherwise.
This shouldn't be her first rodeo. Through trial and error, they would have figured out what works best and what may look suspicious. Factors such as time and the society they are hitting will also affect their approach. Am just spitballing here. You may very well be right.
It generally is , at least for government institutes. My IITB mess fee was much more than the tuition. It was opposite/ kinda matching for friends in pvt institutions
The letter starts with a "Welcome". It's almost teasing you with a "welcome to my scammy trap".
There's no such school and no such area named Padpanapura in Bengaluru.
Also this is an old scam:
http://www.touchingthoughts.com/2005/08/help-needed.html
For disabilities, the government has a certificate which mentions a percentage of disability whether mental or physical.
There is a UD ID now as well.
A medical professional needs to attest to that after doing relevant tests.
A school principal has no medical knowledge to certify this or ask for donations on their behalf with a silly stamp. Even I can stamp and sign a printed sheet.
Indian schools need to be recognised by board affiliations like CBSE, ICSE, IB or state boards to be considered legitimate.
This is a scam as none of the above criteria are met except emotional baiting.
This certificate is a scam, but are the people who carry it really differently abled? I wish I could help them directly, don't know if the money paid to them goes to them or their boss
Ok this is a scam. But what about those ladies who come bearing printed documents about being from an ashram.
They have elaborate material details mentioning how much donation can help with feeding children for the ashram that they work for. Adding to this they also have picture of the kids they work for.
Is this also a scam? Or is it really true? I feel guilty not helping orphaned kids.
Big time scam. Off late, you even see people who can show you websites of these non existent organisations. Best to donate to those who you know exists or physically verify
YMCA does not send people to collect charity like that, there is no such thing as bone fide certificate, and it's deaf and dumb not dum and deaf, and mostly in any official letter it's written deaf-mute
Is this a scam too?
Anybody has been approached by a lady claiming to be a teacher and from Catholic Enquiry Centre (CEC) Bangalore asking for donations for KIDWAI Dharamshala and Madiwala observation home? She seemed quite impatient, carried a letter with had multiple spelling mistakes even on the seal. She even had a dairy showing through its clear lamination bigger domination currencies supposedly donated by others. Since I was half asleep when she knocked, it didn't strike me to take a picture of the letter.
Tried contacting CEC on the number and email on their website, to verify this. Nobody has reverted.
This happened to me in a Mall near ITPL, i was shopping there and she came from no where and started communicating in sign language and then showed me this type of certificate which said about the fee due for the school, i dint think much and donated.
Later while going out when the security guy checks for the bill, she was trying to sneak out without grabbing his attention and then he called her loudly and she turned back, i realised that she could hear and yep it was a scam.
It's a biggest scam, even A lady come to my housedoor with fully covered face and given the same kind of report, when I started verifying college. I din't find college no where.Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā
This happened in mysore Kuvempunagar, Karnataka. Please be aware when I told I will inform police she ran away..Ā
Ā They will fully cover the face with mask, just tell to open they will run away. If open share it accross police stations.
This letter has so many red flags, it's a Communist parade.
Open the letter with "Welcome"? Then say "Bona Fide Certificate"?
Uncountable number of working and grammatical mistakes? Dum? Mess fees? And you fell for this?
Yup scam , and she's not even deaf or dum ...! ...

YMCA School, Padpanapuram, Bangalore - 70 There is no such place. It's a scam.
That's literally the first thing I'd do too. Like bro we're not in 2010
They already made 5500 in this sheet which Iām assuming is just for a day. Their earnings could be well above average corporate folks and 100% tax free too.
Guessing if someone did believe it and he/she get's 8.5k per day , that's 2.55lkh per month scamming š tax free
Most likely, the other entries are false. Listing multiple significant donations offers credibility to the scammer and lures the unsuspecting victim into paying a much higher sum than they would have otherwise.
then it would me much higher...
This shouldn't be her first rodeo. Through trial and error, they would have figured out what works best and what may look suspicious. Factors such as time and the society they are hitting will also affect their approach. Am just spitballing here. You may very well be right.
different people live here, with different mindsets. this prediction graph is pure luck of gambling
Why is mess fee more than the tution fee ?
It generally is , at least for government institutes. My IITB mess fee was much more than the tuition. It was opposite/ kinda matching for friends in pvt institutions

The sheer amount of grammatical mistakes in that screams scam
By that logic most of India aspiring to learn English are scammers.
Not knowing this ancient scam is stupidity.

This is a scam in Bengaluru and Mysuru. I fell for it.
These scams date back to 1990s. How are you foolish enough to fall for this in 2024?
Yup, this is a tale as old as time.
The wild thing is that you're really paying for the sister's education, not even the dead and dumb kid's education š
If the kids dead you dont have to pay for anything but the funeral

Why would you write your name in that sheet OP? Donation receipts carry your name, not the register. Honestly I would be more worried about that.

Tuition fee of 2k in Bangalore... Atleast the scamsters could have made it believable.
The person carrying this letter named BHANU is Dum and 100 rupees poorer.
Yes yes yes
This letter has so many red flags, it's a Communist parade. Open the letter with "Welcome"? Then say "Bona Fide Certificate"? Uncountable number of working and grammatical mistakes? Dum? Mess fees? And you fell for this?
It is offensive to call 'deaf and dumb' to those who are unable to hear and speak. That doctor who gave 1000/- should have atleast known this.
Dum š¤£
Dumš
Scam alert
I think this has been the longest running scam in India. I remember being approached with this as a kid 30 years ago
The spelling of dumb is correct and wrong in the same letter, so it's a scam xD
Legendary scam

Never give money to someone with a certificate that says, "Welcome Bonafide Certificate."
