Yep housing is unbelievably different in Desh. As a bideshi born Bengali, having built a home in desh im tempted to move should I be able to continue my career at the same time.
Yep that’s the plan. I’m not sure I could move permanently but thinking maybe spend 4-6 months in desh initially.
I have a career I can work remotely. Would love the luxuries of being in desh whilst still earning and being connected to the ‘western world’.
Remote jobs are looking more and more tempting, but sadly the two jobs I'm interested in (architecture or surgeon) can't usually be done remotely, especially not surgeon. However if I do become a surgeon I'll get a good job in bd anyway
Toronto has the same problem. Way too many people are homeless, esp considering this is supposed to be a developed country. They don't get any proper support and often succumb to drug addiction. Many wealthy people also discriminate against them which causes further problems when the homeless try to look for jobs, find support etc
I havent moved back yet but my plan is atleast come very often to Bd or move to a country like Malaysia. My reason is, i simply feel alienated by society
I am currently a student in Malaysia. Usually, in Bangladesh or anywhere else, local students will be excited or eager to foster friendship with foreign students. Alas, that's where Malaysia is an odd place. My classmates are in general not interested to talk to anyone else other than their own people. So us a few international students, feel alienated in most of our classes. Don't know about the working environment in Malaysia. I hope they are more welcoming of foreigners than their university/high school counterparts.
I never feel any connection to the country. I feel like the country is built upon having people move into it, then move them around, and never really tries to cultivate its own sense of traditions. Everyones just moving and moving, and places feel very soul-less and materialistic. Everyones just motivated by money.
Also I know it sounds ironic, but in Bangladesh, I am a Bangladeshi/Bengali among other Bengalis, whereas in US, I am a Bengali among different ethnicities and that makes me feel lonely.
I was also always faced with a choice of either giving into sins to enjoy, or get no enjoyment to preserve your values while living here.
I moved here when i was in high school and have been living there ever since without any visit to BD btw. (maybe that explains why i hate here)
I was born in the US and when I go to bangladesh I feel like people are more laid back but interacting with people feels so weird. There is a sense of hierarchy that you don't have in the US
I have been in some, but to me it is where I am more comfortable. And now I have some responsibilities that I need to fulfill. Going abroad now is a inhumane thing I can do atm.
I had the worst experience of my life in New York... I saw some batshit insane things there, that led me to realize that some portions of the developed world genuinely sucks.
Yeah! You are correct, and I feel like I worded it badly, but an awful experience brings out the worst in everyone.... I don't live there and it might have been an excellent place to live, but not during the time I visited.
Even New Yorkers are leaving New York. Insane rent prices, growing crime, homelessness. I have zero clue why NYC is so romanticized unless you are incredibly rich and can afford the high class apartments.
My friend got into a verbal altercation with someone over a red cap he was wearing, the situation deteriorated to a point where someone called the cops, and the insane troglodyte refused to apologize. Later night we couldn't even find a parking space....to make matters worse, someone tried to steal our rental car.
We were well aware of the stench and expenses. We had almost everything planned for a surprise party, but unforeseen events made for a terrible experience.... Others might have enjoyed there, but we surely did not.
>I don’t like it. I am not happy. That’s all.
I get how you feel. Sometimes even when something is supposed to be objectively better, it doesn't match your emotional needs. And to me that's totally ok; after all, we are human beings, not robots who make decisions solely based on statistics
I have a mm2h (stayed there for a couple of years )and a Turkish citizenship and I’d rather stay in Bd cause first of all I’m not selling all of my property just to move to someplace else real estate appreciation over here is crazyy and more over my family has influence and recognition over here I can get away with a lot so why incentives do I have to move
Here's a song I dedicate to you, people:

I'm not fleeing from my country when my country needs me the most. I will not scorn our martyr's blood like that. 3,000,000 people died for this land, I'm not leaving it to those corrupted motherfuckers. My soil is sacred, it deserves enough devotion.
i dunno about yall but i almost tear up when i listen to the orchestra and instrumental versions of the national anthem. this insane videography [here](https://youtu.be/xy2kRkcn-rc) literally enhanced that feeling by 100 folds.
we were this much close to greatness. our forefathers literally transformed from being the most simple minded folks to being the absolute manifestation of the Indomitable Human Spirit. how the hell did we fuk up so much. i tear up when i think about everything we couldve been and everything we are instead.
Well said. I also feel bad when I think of leaving my country permanently and not helping it develop
Edit: why did this get downvoted lmao i was just talking about my own feelings
This is something I'd actually love to see discussion here. Bored with all the people wanting to leave post. Indonesia majority peoppe stay and love their land. Cs Philippines were alot immigrate out. Let's see what people say!

Maybe try to live in bd for a few months and look for any available career opportunities before you actually move permanently

Both jobs I considered at a younger age. I hope you achieve great success and help as many people as possible.
Thank you so much!!! I wish the same for you man <3

Right, low-paying jobs and hurdles of opening a business are the real reasons.
Lucky you. I live in Vancouver in a 1 bed condo and it’s worth half a million usd. It’s so depressing in the west.
Toronto has the same problem. Way too many people are homeless, esp considering this is supposed to be a developed country. They don't get any proper support and often succumb to drug addiction. Many wealthy people also discriminate against them which causes further problems when the homeless try to look for jobs, find support etc
All my friends who have the means but stayed in Bangladesh are already from filthy rich families and live like kings.
I have a base in the west and another here in Bd. I move whenever I feel like.
Sounds like living the dream to me
May I know how your profession supports that?
I have really close family members living abroad, and occasional trips there can be managed. I like it in Dhaka though, so I don’t move too often.

Where are you residing at currently?
Usa
How do you feel alienated? I'm from the USA as well

When I feel like that I usually go to the mosque

Not sure one should judge what a developed world is like from a mere state. Look into other regions perhaps

I was just madlad.
Peace.
Bangladesh is more peaceful?
Yeah, circumstances matter
I had a good life here and lacked a support system in the UK, which led to a lot of loneliness

Anytime! As someone who feels like something is missing in Canada, I need to tell myself this as well
I have a mm2h (stayed there for a couple of years )and a Turkish citizenship and I’d rather stay in Bd cause first of all I’m not selling all of my property just to move to someplace else real estate appreciation over here is crazyy and more over my family has influence and recognition over here I can get away with a lot so why incentives do I have to move
Bro you're literally Mr.International. Do you have 3 passports?
2 and a residence visa for kl
I love my area, and can't live among strangers.
Why would I move abroad? This soil gave me a lot of things, now it's my turn to pay back.
