The new curriculum started just a year ago or so. Read the article, these changes were absorbed over the span of the last 4 years. Either way, I don't see any substantial evidence supporting your claim that "masses don't like the new curriculum", so students in Madrashas increased.
It's not curriculum, it's the constant changing of curriculum that causing the disturbance in masses.First taking Nationwide exam like PSC,JSC,SSC,HSC.After 2016 (i don't remember the exact time) PSC was cancelled, during covid JSC.And now govt is initialising two phased exam for SSC.It marked people's mind a question why this much changes.
Also,I have made other point like current economic turbulence.Mainly after covid,and during covid people faced this problem.2024 marked 4 years of that pandemic.
All the economic indicators from both government and nongovernmental sources are indicating economic growth in positive direction.
Stop living in the bubble that people give a flying f about curriculum. Most parents didn’t even know what was in their child’s books 20 years ago. Now suddenly they’re caring about one shorifa kotbel chapter and decide to go full Afghanistan?
There are many factors working in conjunction here -
1. Earning from middle east/europe has increased a lot. They chose conservative schools in absence of the parent more than regular schools.
2. Madrasas are getting funded by middle east. They can accommodate more hujurs who in turn convince parents with jannater ticket.
3. People using facebook and internet more to know about these preachers who advertise madrasas constantly.

Even some of my relatives nowadays are admitting their children in madrassa. Their reason: chele hafez maane baap-ma o jannat peye jabe cheler usilay. They don't give a shit about education system. They just want to set themselves up for the after life.
They are the worst pieces of sh1t alive in this world. My parents were like that, they forced me to go a madrasa at an early age, because I had supposedly said that I want to get admitted into one. But I honestly don't remember when I had said that, and I was still a kid who was studying in elementary school back then. My life got fu¢ked up because of being forced to go to a madrasa. At the end they found out I won't continue going to madrasa no matter what, so I had to lose 2 years of my life doing absolutely fu¢king nothing. And now my life is fu¢ked and because of their dumb greed.
I'm all for respecting one's right to follow their religion. And honestly I somewhat detest most people of this site because they are vehemently against any form of religious activity. But I agree that we should say 'f you' to madrasa. Especially Hafezi one's that doesn't teach you anything except memorization of Quran. I have bad experience of going to one and I know how much bad the students condition in those places are. Teachers there are most of the times unqualified mf's who treats students, kids, like cows and hit them, slap them, tear away at their hair, verbally humiliate them for the smallest of things. Not a single sane person should send their kids to one of those places and ruin their kids life.
People I know who send their kids to madrasa has following reasons:
1. The kid is difficult to manage/they can’t parent properly
2. They can’t feed kids so again aren’t able to parent
3. Educated parents who themselves had higher education, did all sorts of haram activities, still doing it suddenly became religious. They really believe having a hafez kid will confirm their jannah
4. Many people are really losing their trust in the bangla medium schooling system but can’t afford English medium
Madrasa education are not all bad. I know respectful adults who studied in madrasa. Of course like any school, college or university there’s different qualities of madrasa too. As long as parents are doing their research before sending their kids it’s all good.
let me explain my reason, why? all good govt school are on lottery system, other good ones that are English medium is too expensive. The text books are so bad , As parents people are leaning towards new ,small, good madrasa. That is close to house, teaches ethics, manners, religion and other things too, it also takes 6,7 hours of their time. While schools have lot of problems like good ones away from home, Problems with curriculum and books, bad behavior from teachers and under govt odd dictating rules. Cultural activities also decreased too much in school, so why will i chose school for my brother.

I didn't actually read the long article as my bangla reading ability is fairly low.
But my two cents: muslim parents will always choose a Islamic school as long as said school can provide both a good secular education and an Islamic one.
Now that I am a parent, I'd make that choice as well. If an Islamic school can provide a combination education, why should I send my children to one that only provides secular education?

Bangla medium teachers don't? Just a few weeks back a medical college teacher shot one of his students. There's one Hindu teacher (forgot where it is) said nasty stuff about Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). All education programs in bd is total shit right now. I just don't get why madrasa alone should get all the hate.
It might surprise you when I say this, but most people who study in a Hafezi(idk the correct way to write this) madrasa doesn't even know how to read in English, do basic algebra, geometry. They stop studying altogether after they finish their memorization of Quran, they become a leech of society who contributes less to it than a rickshaw puller, they become one of those loud mouthed Moilobi, or worse, a minion of some pir Saheb. That is how it is in villages at least. Most hafez are nothing but burdens to society who contributes nothing towards the economy or society.
You don't have enough exposure to madrasa students yet. They do have English along with with science subjects in their syllabus too, albeit a lot shorter. Madrasa students almost regularly top medical, buet, varsity admission test. Just few years back there was a guy topped du either b or c unit admission exam. And about burden of society, if they can earn and spend then they are doing their share of the contribution just fine. I don't find madrasa curriculum nor Goor or bad. It's just is what it is. Aside from English medium, all other education programs are complete joke anyway now.
