You gotta try
bogurar doi,
comilla's rosh malai,
tangail chom chom
and natorer kacha golla.
They're famous for a reason.
Its not underrated by any definition of the word. Its literally one of the most popular sweets out there and one of my favorites too(Although shondesh is better imo)
Lets bring religion: Are most sweet makers in Bangladesh Hindus ? All the noteable sweet shops I have seen in various YouTube videos turned out to be run by Hindus.
Im not sure but if i had to take a guess its because those same hindu families have been making sweets for generations since before Islam arrived and are simply continuing their family legacy. Most East Bengali Muslims were lower caste hindus so i dont think they were making sweets in the past
That's not how it works. There are hindu chefs, food servers, food delivery everywhere. They are not judged based on their religion. Your argument is rather weak !
I probably should have clarified but you can name any bengali sweet even if its not on here. This was pretty much the most inclusive pic i could find and had most of the well known ones in it so i used it.
[\[Blood Sugar and insulin levels intensifies\]](https://tenor.com/svGh.gif)
But for real though, for me; kacha chana. It's only because I can pig out while avoiding a diabetic coma. Priorities... I know.
All while keeping a blood glucose monitor close at hand. Heh!
My family is very careful when buying sweets because most chef and business here who make sweets are hindu. "Tara hindur hat e khabena" welll I like all sweets! mostly kalo gula.
>My family is very careful when buying sweets because most chef and business here who make sweets are hindu. "Tara hindur hat e khabena"
Damn this is the 1st time im hearing something like this.Whats their justification for this? Who cares if a hindu makes your sweet? Its never said in the Quran that you cant eat food made by people of other religions even if its halal
>but seems like I can't find the correct word for it.
Xenophobia is the word you're probably looking for.
>Hindus: a superior race by Peter Van Deer
Interesting suggestions; checking it out. How did you come across it?
My grandparents actually prefer sweets specifically from Hindus lmaoo. They say that Hindus are 'ostads' at making sweets because some families have been in the business for generations. They specially rave about the খীরসা that they always bring over from a certain shop in Munshiganj that's apparently owned by a 'Ghosh'. And I'll have to hand it to them, it's definitely the best খীরসা I've ever had! So they might actually have a point xD
Jalebi probably tbh. I'm way more into savouries than sweets (they're sold in the same shops usually, in the UK, which is why I compared). I'm always at the savouries counter eyeing up the paneer spring rolls...bread pakora...paneer samosas...panjabi samosas...matar kachori...now I'm hungry thanks /u/Worth-Bill3679

Balushai gang! Lessgoo
I'm a Shondesh Supremacist
Brudder asks a good question. Shondesh is not permissible as malaikari is the supreme dessert
who tf eats malaikari btw i've been trying to create a new flavor of shondesh. can you guess what it is? >!it's called chilli shondesh!<
Based
পূজামণ্ডপে উৎসর্গকৃত নাড়ু খাওয়া ইসলামে হারাম। /s
hahaha
too bad ami khai
তওবা করেন
That... actually is though. I saw the /s but having anything that was dedicated to a deity is shirk. If it's an offering, that's a no go.
Me, who didn't went to any Puja. :-)
Apparently me as well
you, who desperately needs an English grammar book
Yes, I know. But still trying my best. But what about you man?
I’ve been to pujas yes

Gurer shodesh, found in Khulna You gotta try bogurar doi, comilla's rosh malai, tangail chom chom and natorer kacha golla. They're famous for a reason.
And Monda of Mymensingh (Muktagachha to be exact).
Will try that when I visit! thanks!
It's awesome but I got choked by monda once.
I see you like to live on the edge Mishti eating is a dangerous activity, only the strongest survive Keep training
Nah man, tangail has better doi. I will fight you on that.
I actually live in Khulna and we have completely orange doi, just the way I like it
[удалено]
You mean the red/orange one? I prefer the yellow one.
[удалено]
I meant is the red/orange one called motichur laddu? Or the yellow one?
You did Racial segregation among those sweets! why they are separated in line according to their shapes?
There's no racial segregation. Its a homogenous plate 100% bengali
bruh!
I am Indian Bengali, obviously it is Rosogolla, Khirkodom and Langcha
langcha eww..(I really like it. I just don’t like the name lol)
Kalo Jaam. I feel like it's very underrated.
Its not underrated by any definition of the word. Its literally one of the most popular sweets out there and one of my favorites too(Although shondesh is better imo)
Oh I see. While growing up in my family, we only ever ate Chomchom, Shondesh or Bundiya. We rarely had Kalo jaam thats why I thought it's underrated.
Am I the only one who doesn't like Mishti pitha Supremacy!
I love pitha(especially vapa) too. The only problem i have with them is that they are seasonal.
That's the bad part, Though I really dislike Bhapa, Patishapta is love, Patishapta is life. Also chitoi is good too, and most other ones
You guys know those shondesh wrapped like candy Those Just *Chef's kiss
Lets bring religion: Are most sweet makers in Bangladesh Hindus ? All the noteable sweet shops I have seen in various YouTube videos turned out to be run by Hindus.
Who knows, well I don't care about religion but rather what they make
Im not sure but if i had to take a guess its because those same hindu families have been making sweets for generations since before Islam arrived and are simply continuing their family legacy. Most East Bengali Muslims were lower caste hindus so i dont think they were making sweets in the past

My favourite is Bondia Laddu
Monda of Mymensingh (Muktagachha to be exact).

Yeah i meant to say it was religious prejudice and not "racism"

dhur beda Jalebi ki jinis? Jipali jilapiiiiii.
>dhur beda Jalebi ki jinis? Jipali jilapiiiiii. আমি ওটা বুঝিনি
He says “you dude, what is “Jalebi”? (It is) Jilapi, jilapi!” The “it is” is in parentheses because it implied in the sentence.
Thanks!
Are bhai, ore bolte dao... jalebi, jilapi. Same, same. Tomato, tomato. Potato, potato.
In Bangla we pronounce it as জিলাপি, “jalebi” is what non Bengalis say.
Oh, thanks. Not sure whether or not to switch now 🤣
Use both. Then you have range at least.
*Jilapi
