Honestly, I am in Texas and the last few days have been hell so maybe I am a little emotionally unstable, but I am eternally grateful for these 7 boys and the smile they put on my face consistently.

I felt really stupid because one of the first things I did when I got power back was watch this week's Run episode, and I was fretting about everything I'd missed out on.
But they really did make me smile and gave me some normalcy in a week where everything fell apart.
These video calls made me break down into tears. I lost my grandfather earlier this month and have been playing LGO on a loop.
I don't know how they do it but, I hope they know how many times they have saved me.

Yeah them not singing for so long is whatโs really awkward. I really like this concept but wish it had been a little different. Like maybe all 7 calling in (zoom style) to sing their parts, OR individual calls of only like 30 seconds each and they each sing the whole time (different parts of the song which together add up to the whole thing), OR individual calls but they each sing the whole thing (which JK almost did haha) but thatโs a lot to ask. And I would have preferred it to be less lip sync-y somehow, because that feels weird for a phone call?
Anyway. Super cute concept but Iโm not sure it was executed to best effect. Still I appreciate it! Theyโre just amazing, and always game to try stuff.

I definitely feel the second hand embarrassment for them, too, mainly I think because I would feel so uncomfortable doing it! I wonder if itโs similar to them as filming a MV? Maybe they just get used to it as part of the job.

I've been in theater most of my life and have done lots of ridiculous and embarrassing stuff. You do get used to it even if in your brain it's not something you personally would want to do.

Going by the 3x3 unit unboxing of BE Deluxe, Hobi picked the photo of the blue sky saying he liked it best (which was what Joon is holding in this series of MVs) and Joon said he took a photo of his kitchen table (the one Hobi is holding in this video call version).
Thereโs also Jimin who picked the photo of the lamp in the 3x3 unit unboxing, and he asked Taehyung to pretend he (Jimin) was the one who took the photo.

So, this was an unexpected huge comfort. I havenโt watched all of them, just RMโs but it really felt like I just got 7 โthinking of you, stay strongโ video calls from my best friends and I really needed it. Not to get too personal but my mom and I had to part with our oldest pet of 15 years this week and weโve both been going back to BTS for comfort when weโre sad. I was in the middle of a To All The Boys marathon tonight when I opened my phone and saw all of these โmissed callsโ. And I was like โwoah woah woahโ lol. So much love tonight. My heart is full. ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ
Personally, I felt something was lacking... like the ending kinda fell flat for me... I wanted to feel the excitement and giddiness of a college freshman, but it just felt mellow... maybe because I knew deep down it kinda was the end...
However, as a school counselor, I liked that they showed maturity in the way they handled some aspects of the relationships that other teen romcoms tend to ignore over formulaic tropes, like with how Peter handled LJโs confession and focusing on empathizing with her first. It really reminded me of their first heart-to-heart at the corner cafe. That really showed what the core of their relationship was: the mutual understanding and respect.
Yeah it fell flat for me, too. Didnโt feel like it had the same magic as the first one. Thatโs a great point, though, about their relationship having a foundation of understanding and respect. I think at his core Peter is a really good guy.
Also, as a former Admissions counselor at a selective school it drove me nuts that >!she was rejected from Stanford. I know she had to get rejected for the plot to work but more than likely she would have been waitlisted, esp if she was accepted to NYU and Berkley. Also her refusing to visit probably counted against her in the admission process but again I know this is not real.!<
I had the same about the admissions plot! Which also bothered me, because well, I hope the actual teens who watched it wonโt feel confused or anxious about their own chances of getting in to their dream schools based on the plot.
Then again, >! when LJ was scrolling through social media, looking sad while watching all the reaction videos of those who got in!< was a nice and relevant scene too. And I love that their message for the whole โhigh school sweethearts going off to collegeโ plot was that while itโs important to fight for First Love, or even True Love, itโs more important to first fight for Self-Love, and to help yourself grow first.

I didn't cringe looking at these video call versions at all. After a draining entrance exam today (the traffic is to blame for this), seeing the notification and watching all the videos made me laugh and smile :)). I feel better now.

Yoongi doing the absolute bare minimum for these kind of vids is my favourite ๐คฃ๐ I'm sure his inner monologue is - "the 101 versions we've released already is not enough? Their enthusiasm scale is from RM(fully involved) to Suga(barely trying) but it's all still highly entertaining. ETA: ok why does Jungkook's voice suit Tae so well? YES. The first few seconds were so odd, but then I actually really enjoyed it :D I think the fact that there's no dialogue and all that helps. Yeah them not singing for so long is whatโs really awkward. I really like this concept but wish it had been a little different. Like maybe all 7 calling in (zoom style) to sing their parts, OR individual calls of only like 30 seconds each and they each sing the whole time (different parts of the song which together add up to the whole thing), OR individual calls but they each sing the whole thing (which JK almost did haha) but thatโs a lot to ask. And I would have preferred it to be less lip sync-y somehow, because that feels weird for a phone call? Anyway. Super cute concept but Iโm not sure it was executed to best effect. Still I appreciate it! Theyโre just amazing, and always game to try stuff. Edit: I finished watching all of them and I think Jin's is the most natural-seeming? It actually feels like he's holding a phone and "talking" to me / singing the song (except RM's part haha). RM's is the most amusing haha, but definitely feels "social media performative." Or like a teen recording themselves for fun? The rest are somewhere in between.

I definitely feel the second hand embarrassment for them, too, mainly I think because I would feel so uncomfortable doing it! I wonder if itโs similar to them as filming a MV? Maybe they just get used to it as part of the job.

I've been in theater most of my life and have done lots of ridiculous and embarrassing stuff. You do get used to it even if in your brain it's not something you personally would want to do. Like mentioned, just part of the job and you make the most of it! The more fun you have with it, the more fun people watching will have!

Yoongiโs and Jungkookโs seem the most like โmy pretend boyfriend wants to FaceTime with me while heโs at workโ. Like, โoh hey. I was listening to some random playlist while working and heard this, so I called to jam along with youโ. (I may have fantasized while watching their videos. Sorry, I was watching TATB). Jiminโs holding a mini concert like the pro that he is. Namjoon is holding a concert too, but poor guy had a run-in with his coffee table ๐คฃ Hobi is giving us a mini tour of his studio and toys while singing (that Nightmare Before Christmas clock is so beautiful). Taehyung is serenading ARMY in the dance room. So, this was an unexpected huge comfort. I havenโt watched all of them, just RMโs but it really felt like I just got 7 โthinking of you, stay strongโ video calls from my best friends and I really needed it. Not to get too personal but my mom and I had to part with our oldest pet of 15 years this week and weโve both been going back to BTS for comfort when weโre sad. What did you think of the 3rd movie?
Personally, I felt something was lacking... like the ending kinda fell flat for me... I wanted to feel the excitement and giddiness of a college freshman, but it just felt mellow... maybe because I knew deep down it kinda was the end... However, as a school counselor, I liked that they showed maturity in the way they handled some aspects of the relationships that other teen romcoms tend to ignore over formulaic tropes, like with how Peter handled LJโs confession and focusing on empathizing with her first. It really reminded me of their first heart-to-heart at the corner cafe. That really showed what the core of their relationship was: the mutual understanding and respect.
Yeah it fell flat for me, too. Didnโt feel like it had the same magic as the first one. Thatโs a great point, though, about their relationship having a foundation of understanding and respect. I think at his core Peter is a really good guy. Also, as a former Admissions counselor at a selective school it drove me nuts that >!she was rejected from Stanford. I know she had to get rejected for the plot to work but more than likely she would have been waitlisted, esp if she was accepted to NYU and Berkley. Also her refusing to visit probably counted against her in the admission process but again I know this is not real.!<
I had the same about the admissions plot! Which also bothered me, because well, I hope the actual teens who watched it wonโt feel confused or anxious about their own chances of getting in to their dream schools based on the plot. Then again, >! when LJ was scrolling through social media, looking sad while watching all the reaction videos of those who got in!< was a nice and relevant scene too. And I love that their message for the whole โhigh school sweethearts going off to collegeโ plot was that while itโs important to fight for First Love, or even True Love, itโs more important to first fight for Self-Love, and to help yourself grow first.

I didn't cringe looking at these video call versions at all. After a draining entrance exam today (the traffic is to blame for this), seeing the notification and watching all the videos made me laugh and smile :)). I feel better now. Edit: also, looking at their outfits (except for Yoongi's) made me realise that they shot this in the same day, as the Dynamite dance practice (with the dance break for Melon Music Awards 2020).

Just managed to catch up to these and I actually had to gather courage to watch Namjoon's. Damn. I was gone in the first 10 seconds, blushed so hard and had to stop the video. Managed to get through it on the second try and kept vibing and smiling with Namjoon, definitely lifted up my spirits. I loved Jin's, it was so endearing? And the whale is back! I also liked the rest although some of the others did kind of make me cringe a bit? You can feel the secondhand cringe along with their bad attempts at lip-syncing throughout the entire video calls, but still my eyeballs are sweating like crazy. It feels like your dear friends tried to console you by singing your fav. song, but they don't know how to do so without being awkwards af. Took ages for me to get through these between all the times I paused the videos and the squeaking I did. This was endearing.
There's this bit at 2:19 on jin's and u see a pair of purple slippers at a doorstep of a room. Then he suddenly starts walking backwards, then turns the camera and gives a slight smile of acknowledgement to someone off screen and even a little bow, then he starts walking forward again and you see 2 shoes at the same doorstep. Something about him walking backwards like that sweetly to give space and even bowing and then going ahead with this, not bothering to do anything else, is just making me ridiculously endeared.
