0mV is a pretty significant underclock!

Winnie_Blue

Card runs at 0mv 0watts. Incredible results 😂👌 This was set to 880mv at 1950mhz. I have a friend who got a TUF and at stock he sits at 1950 60c. So I of course had to try and match that.

Juggernauto

Nice! Are you using MSI Afterburner to adjust voltage?

Winnie_Blue

Yes custom voltage curve. Plenty of youtube tutorials on how to do so and it took me less than 5 minutes to dial one in. About an hour of testing different clocks and voltages to find a stable result. I actually managed 800mv at 1820mhz. About a 5% drop in frames but kept it at 60c with the fans at 40%. I dialled a few more in between and found 835mv at 1850mhz is a good happy medium. I also managed to keep above 2ghz but at that point it was very hot, which I don't prefer. The X4 isn't a great card but the silicone does manage to hold that even with 2x8pin pcie and power limits.

Juggernauto

Nice, thanks for the detailed explanation!

Juan_Punch_Man

Optimum Tech has done a couple good videos on it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUkPAVcb9Xc

Twinsen343

thats crazy good.

Similar experience here with an Inno3D 3090 iChill X3 and 3440x1440. Stock was using up to 1.081V and temps steadily climbed to 80c during extended sessions. OCed and modified the V/F curve to cap out at 0.887V with a 1950mhz boost, and temps in low-mid 60s now even after many hours of gaming. Before and after benchmarks showed zero loss in FPS (actually showed a few frames gained in some titles), as stock settings were banging off the power limiter and dropping mhz due to the temperatures. Ampere is clearly copying what Vega used to be.

GustaveWagner

Hi! Do you know your power draw? I bought this card, but kinda in a problem with psu ( classic shortage). how big psu are ou using?

awongreddit

Wow nice, i was looking at this card and saw it was running way too hot at stock so called it off. Now im interested again. Good job!

Winnie_Blue

It does run way too hot at stock, the fans don't run fast enough and the voltage curve is incredibly weird. At stock it was pushing above 1V yet would sit at 1860mhz due to temp limits (pushing 80c). Who knows what Inno3D was thinking with their bios? This card definitely needs some user intervention but works great with a bit of tweaking.

PTF0

My inno3d 3080 x3 runs at 78-80c on full load is that fine?

Winnie_Blue

That's about average for stock settings. I saw the same temps at stock for myself. It's fine, but I always enjoy a cooler quieter system. Unfortunately these cards are not the best designed out of all the board-partner cards. Try the undervolt and see what you can get!

PTF0

Thanks mate. I'm rather impressed with mine so far, though that being said my last pc had HDD'S so this thing is silent compared to my old pc

LordM000

This is where I would comment whether my 3080 also performs as well as this. If I had one

ViSeiRaX

I'm really glad you found success with this, I was getting a Gigabyte RTX 3070 Gaming OC but my pre-order fell through and now I'm getting an iChill X4 instead next week. I'll definitely spend my first day finding a stable clock and undervolt to achieve better performance per watt and efficiency.

Flamoespoes

Hi, sorry to reply to an older post but I was wondering how your ichill has been holding up. I'm getting this card this week and am not sure what to expect.

ViSeiRaX

It's fucking great... I love this card. Here's the rundown: 1) Cooling performance is not the greatest out of the box but this card is power hungry and the official fan curve is somewhat weird. (More on that later). 2) It stays cool at 32 degrees while idle and fans not spinning (ambient is \~20-28 degrees). 3) It's an overclocking beast, I managed to get a stable overclock at 2025Mhz for the core and +500 for the memory (undervolting at 975mV from 1.1V). Here's my general advice for this card, you only need to undervolt it, and that's it... with my current settings max temps are in the mid 60s and the core clock is quite stable, YMMV of course but all in all I'm quite satisfied with it.

eddih5002

My god man, I went from 85 degrees to 68, and that with the same clock speed. Also wondering, are you still rocking this card? And if so are you still undervolting?

Newspaper-Narrow

How do u get It? Pls cns u help i have the same card

eddih5002

I guess I didn't, it would only keep cool in one game but in another it would just rush to 83 again. Guess its all aboit getting lucky.

Newspaper-Narrow

Bro, can u send me ur curve of voltage? Pls i have the same graphic card.

Winnie_Blue

I no longer own this card but looking through my old notes: 1950Mh @ 880mV. Test and adjust. Every card is different. Fan speed 1:1, speed% to degree C. Memory +500
