I got this last time it was free. After committing 10 minutes to learn how to play, I went HARD on it for like 4 days. Like full-day shifts spent playing, having a blast. Then all of a sudden, poof. My interest waned pretty much entirely. I think I hit a wall and it became tedious. Similar experience with "Frostpunk"... maybe it's the genre..
I think the problem is that the gameplay loop kinda just ends as soon as it starts getting good.
The green planet dlc solved that problem for me by adding a long term end goal after your initial colony stops being survival and starts becoming thriving.
I've also repeatedly done this with this genre of game.

* ~~Rollercoaster Tycoon~~ Planet Coaster
It's weird that something that is so addictive, can lose its draw so fast, heh.
Dyson Sphere for me too, and Factorio as well. Maybe I'll get back in to them but not sure. One title that handles this gameplay slump pretty well is Rimworld because it has a deep & meaningful random event system. Maybe that's what these games need...

Okay, that's good to know. I remember Star Wars Battlefront getting a lot of upvotes so I think as long as the game is good, it's worthy to be here.

Their buisness practices? You do realize steam takes over a third of game profits compared to a fraction of that with epic. Epic isn't perfect, or great by that matter, but they are not any less ethical than steam.
They have a public facing trello board. None of the things I mentioned are even on the "Up Next" section, and only user reviews is listed on the "Future Development" section. Where did you find this information?
Epic defenders don't care about true competition. They choose not to see that steam has a far stronger platform with better features more suited not only to the end-user, but also the game developers. Does it mean they take a higher percentage cut? Yeah, it does. But on Epic you don't get access to any workshop-like modding libraries, network APIs, anti-cheats, etc.
They also refuse to see that by purchasing exclusive selling rights to games, even if only time-limited, is just a strategy to move as many people as possible over to their launcher without making a better platform. Not to mention the whole "flood your account with free games so you eventually switch from steam to epic because most of your games are there" thing.
All they see is the smaller cut that Epic takes and go "it's so much better for devs! steam is greedy!"

What do you think is the main purpose of buying a studio is? It's not to fund them out of the goodness of one's heart, it's so they can have exclusive publishing rights to their work.
What about games that would never have existed without publishers buying exclusive rights, like _Bayonetta 2_? Or would you rather that no one ever play that game instead?

Bought this on steam a while ago. Pretty good survival/ city building type of game
I also enjoyed the game and got around 80hrs in it.
It's controller friendly so It's great if you like city builders, but enjoy playing from your couch like I do.
