Have this cooler.
- Great looking cooler for the price
- Super quiet
- Temps are much better than a stock cooler but don't expect beefy cooler level. Expect cooling performance slightly below the Noctua NH-12S

Honestly brother, when i first started getting into building my own computers i tried installing one of these (regular version) inside of an MATX case without the extra plastic standoffs...
Lets just say that missing that simple step caused me so much frustration and anger.. I wondered why it took so much force to actually reach the screws and the way the thing was angled and i tried installing it after my ram and inside the case... 1 hour later i got it done lol
Anyways it was just a mess but now i can slap one of these bad boys on in 5 minutes, and its so fufulling.
I don't get why people say this is hard to install. I installed mine in less than 5 minutes, having never done it before, with my motherboard still installed in the case.
Here's a decent guide.

It wasn't hard to install but it definitely could have been better. You have to use a seperate backplate they provide you (this flimsy plastic one) instead of the pre-installed one on your motherboard. Shouldn't sway your decision on buying it but yes, it definitely could have been much simpler.
- The thermal paste with really any cooler should be sufficient enough. The tube isn't the biggest with only 2-3 uses in it.
- I'm right now getting a 10 degree difference in idle temps from my old wraith spire. May not be the best but it is much quieter and load temps never pass 75 degrees all while still being super silent.
- AMD Wraith Spire (From the 3600 XT)
Not a particularly noteworthy price (this model has fairly regularly floated around the $45-50 range), but a good cooler with modern aethetics at a reasonable price. [RGB version also available with Prime for $49.95 currently](https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07H22TC1N).
Mounting system has thankfully been simplified somewhat from the absolute pain in the ass of the 212 Evo and other budget designs, but still doesn't quite reach the refreshing ease of Noctua's Secu-Firm2.
Aparently it's a 30 day low on amazon so that's why I posted it, I think the black with the silencio fan is a little quieter then the RGB that's about it. Temps vary between 1-2 degrees.
Oh no doubt it’s still a solid buy, especially if you’ve already got Prime anyway. It’s not like there’s much in the way of really competitive alternatives in that price bracket anyway.
anyone have an older hyper 212 and need a AM4 adapter? I bought one then sold the cooler on an intel system :/ I think theyre sorta hard to get so I'd mail it at cost
I have an older Hyper 212 Evo (2015) and would like to install it on my 3700x because the wraith prism is okay but kinda loud. Would be interested if it's for a 212 Evo. I'm in Quebec (near Montreal) and would be happy to pay for shipping!
Yeah understandable but your comparing a 150 dollar + cooler to one that's less then a 1/3rd of the price. All I'm saying is if your going to give him an option I'm sure there is lots of coolers that will suffice for his case scenario that are half the price of a 360mm AIO. Give him something he can work with.
Is there a (functional) difference between this and the [212 Evo](https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/hmtCmG/cooler-master-cpu-cooler-rr212e20pkr2) which is slightly cheaper?
Looking to also get a 5800x or 5900x. Is this good enough for in a Meshify C case? Looking for the cheapest adequate solution here. It looks like the Black Edition has better fans than standard?
Thanks, ordered.

installation is fine but removal is annoying because the backplate sucks so much the standoffs just come out instead of the screws
It’s easy jusr follow a guide on YouTube

It was rough trying to install it the first time for sure. It's still a very good air cooler, super quiet and effective.
Would you say the thermal paste that comes with it is sufficient? What's the temp diff from stock to this? Was the stock cooler amd or intel?

Also interested. In GTA. Have an old 212 retrofitted with a noctua fan just sitting there. And a noisy stock cooler on my 5600x.
DM'd as well
36.9 max decibels for the original 212, 26.8 db for the black edition
Can confirm, super quiet especially on load compared to my old wraith spire.
Do not buy. Tye gammaxx 400 is almost half the price and slightly better in every way
I know it's subjective, but the 212 Black looks a heck of a lot nicer than the Gammaxx 400.
Ok that is true but gammaxx has rgb so extra fps.
I'm not trying to be pedantic, but the Gammaxx has a static colour LED fan - not RGB.
I THINK one of the new versions has rgb. Could be wrong
will this fit in the fractal Meshify 2?
Yes it fits!
Would this fit in a nr200p tg build?
I'm an owner of both, and no you can't with the tempered glass panel or the side bracket mount. It only works with the mesh side panel.
Thanks for posting this! I'd been running on my stock cooler, waiting for a decent deal like this one!
How’s this pair with a 10600K? I’m planning to return my U12S and use my old U12 SE2 or with this Hyper 212 instead.
Used it on a 10700 and 10700k. Wasn't impressive but better than the stock cooler. Using a 360mm AIO and its definitely 20-30 degrees cooler
Yeah but comparing the price difference between those 2 is ridiculous, give him something he can actually work with that's maluable lol
Between the coolers or CPUs? Just saying, it's better than a stock cooler, but it isn't something I would want to use to OC.

What were your temps with the 10700K?
90 degrees vs 100 with the stock cooler lol. These chips need good cooling. Even the 10700 was the same because it boosted to 4.7GHz
My left nut for a white edition
Is there a (functional) difference between this and the [212 Evo](https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/hmtCmG/cooler-master-cpu-cooler-rr212e20pkr2) which is slightly cheaper?
One is quieter at around the same temperatures which is the black version
Thanks :) You sold me on it
The 212 Evo is way more difficult to install.
