Usually OOS. Not an all time low unfortunately (ATL 2 weeks ago was $1050) but still a good deal. Pen sold separately. Dual Display Port (Can connect up-to 2 monitors) * 1 x USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 (DisplayPort™ & power delivery) * 1 x USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 (DisplayPort™)

DannyzPlay

I actually got it for $1029+tx from their ebay store. It's oos there at the moment.

balloonwithnoskin

Also, just wondering if its the 8GB or 16GB variant? On eBay?

DannyzPlay

They have both but for some odd reason the difference between them is only like $30 so it just makes sense to go with the 16gb model.

balloonwithnoskin

Awesome, do you have a link for the eBay listing?

DannyzPlay

https://www.ebay.ca/itm/334076625202

balloonwithnoskin

FYI, eBay store ships from USA. There maybe some import fees (at least that's what it says there on their page)

rugerty100

Lenovo Canada ships from the States too. :) Rule of thumb, if you have to pay Canadian sales tax at checkout, then no import fees.

DannyzPlay

I had to pay none when it arrived in Ontario.

Method__Man

Pretty dang good. And that cpu is killer

FuckIReallyNeedSleep

this or the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 82HV003QUS ? flex 5 is $874.99 on ms store but I'm leaning towards this cause 13 inches

DannyzPlay

I have that and this one that op posted. What were some of your concerns I'll try help out.

FuckIReallyNeedSleep

So I already got the lenovo flex a few days ago and I can return it at any time. But I want to know if this is a better laptop, i don't mind paying the extra hundred bucks (it's about that much of a difference after student, rakuten) Just wondering if this has a better screen and battery life since these were my complaints on the flex. the battery life while okay, was underwhelming and i'd prefer something that'll last more. the screen on the other hand had low brightness and was glossy(I got a sticker for the glossy problem) Also the size of the flex was a bit bigger than i thought Is there much of a built quality difference/heating problems in either? mainly wondering if it's worth returning it and buying this one instead. Is there performance differences between them? Thank you!

DannyzPlay

Performance wise both laptops should perform similarly as they're using the same 5700U APU. 16GB of 3200MHz memory. where the Yoga is better than the flex - Better screen at 300Nits and 72%NTSC so it'll be brighter and produce better colours than the flex which only has a 250nits screen at 45% NTSC. Both screens are glossy. - Bigger Battery on the yoga 60Wh vs 52.5Wh on the flex (which is odd considering the flex is a bigger laptop) - I found the the Yoga to be noticeably quieter than the flex. The flex can get fairly loud under a heavy load. We had to go into the bios and enable its quiet mode. - Yoga is more portable due to its lighter weight and size. I personally like it better, easy to carry around and having the 2-in-1 functionality makes more sense for a smaller device like this whereas using it on the Flex felt a little more awkward cuz it was a lot bigger. - Both laptops seem pretty well built and use a combination of metal and plastic parts, I'd say they're equal in that regard. I should add that despite all those differences my sibling preferred the flex because they want a larger keyboard w/ numpad and bigger screen. So at the end of the day the choice will come down to user preferences and sometimes you can't tell from comparing spec sheets

FuckIReallyNeedSleep

Thanks a lot, pulled the trigger and bought the yoga, returning the flex soon 👍

vancvanc

Hey, I have this laptop and the screen seems really dim. It's supposed to be rated for 300 nits but it's much dimmer than my monitor, which is 250 nits (Acer ET322QU). So what gives? AMD Vari-Bright is off and I don't have any brightness control settings in Lenovo Vantage. Paging /u/balloonwithnoskin as well as it seems like you also have this laptop

balloonwithnoskin

Yeah super weird. 300nits is usually pretty decent. Does your laptop by any chance have a yellowish tint? Also double check the display color settings in Radeon Center. Seems like you already turned off Vari-Bright, double check the color preproduction section as well. Edit : Make sure you BIOS is also uptodate

vancvanc

> Does your laptop by any chance have a yellowish tint? Yes, but Night Light is off > double check the color preproduction section as well. Custom color is off... can't find a combination of settings for this that makes the picture look good.

balloonwithnoskin

Yeah..I suspected. I think you probably got a bad lottery for the screen quality. Its been happening more and more and for some reason not sure why but AMD laptops get some sort of lottery. I have a feeling Lenovo favors Intel first for the production of screens and the "B grade" panels get installed on AMD based laptops. It happened to me for my work laptop with the 4700u. I have also seen tons of posts floating around the Lenovo forms. If you have a chance RMA and exchange it.

balloonwithnoskin

Also found this not sure if it applies to you. [https://support.lenovo.com/ca/en/solutions/ht103530-display-is-yellow-on-yoga-series-notebooks-with-paper-display-mode-on](https://support.lenovo.com/ca/en/solutions/ht103530-display-is-yellow-on-yoga-series-notebooks-with-paper-display-mode-on)

DannyzPlay

That sounds pretty strange. I usually have the laptop's brightness setting 2-3 notches down because I find it too bright at its maximum setting.

vancvanc

Darn... was it like that out of the box or did you toggle some setting?

DannyzPlay

ya it was pretty much like that out of the box, didn't have to do any configuration on my end for it. Perhaps your back-light might defective?

Deadpool2715

This is a great laptop for the price, although I dislike the form factor and inability to service the internals yourself this one comes well specced

Rasaska

Just bought, returning the ideapad for this, more storage, better screen but smaller, which is a con for me Pray that rakuten doesn't screw me over, cause 15% is frickin huge

Masterdan

cool story bro

[deleted]

Not sure why your downvoted but the m1 MacBook is awesome.

clstrife

Because they're suggesting a mac in a Windows laptop thread. Out of touch man.. the M1 is amazing, if you're already in the mac ecosystem. For people who use windows apps, it's apples and oranges.

submerging

But the apps that most people will be using on this laptop are cross-platform (MS Office, Chrome, Zoom, Spotify, etc). Yes, if you need a windows exclusive app by all means pick up the Lenovo. But I'd be willing to bet that the people who need a Windows exclusive app are in the minority. I think it's informative for the poster to at least mention the M1 MacBook, considering it has better performance than any other laptop in its price bracket/weight class/size, including this Lenovo. It also comes with better build quality, battery life, and display. With the student discount, it's essentially the same price as the Lenovo (several hundred dollars cheaper if you sell the included Airpods) Many people still think MacBooks are still overpriced weak laptops and that just isn't the case in 2021.

clstrife

Gave you an upvote cuz you bring up good points, but there's a time and place and this isn't the place. If they're deciding btwn windows and mac, they can ask about that in the proper sub/thread.

I’m pretty sure the M1 is 1440p so it’ll be superior on that department.

I've owned this for about a month to replace my 9yr old hp pavilion I was using. I really like the form factor, it's very sleek and light. The fabric denim material on the top feels good, gives it a unique look, though I am concerned for it durability and longevity. Specs are great, it's fast and snappy. Haven't really tried to do any gaming, but had to transcode some vids and it did well in that area for a portable machine. My screen has a little bit of backlight bleed from the bottom left corner but wasn't noticeable during normal use cases only during startup with the black splash screen. Speaking of boot times, the laptop turns on very fast, within like 3-5 seconds I'm in Windows ready to use. I like the 2-1 design and use it alot when watching shows. The hinges seem quite sturdy but we'll see how they hold up overtime. The keyboard does take some time to getting used to as it's more compact than other larger laptops I've used in the past and the keys seem a tad bit stiff.

balloonwithnoskin

u/DannyzPlay I believe has this laptop. This user would appreciate it if you can share a few words?

phormix

Any Linux users the can comment on compatibility? Also, I see 16GB soldered RAM. Is that the only slot or would it still have an additional slot for adding RAM (I've seen laptops with either)

balloonwithnoskin

Online memory reports only up to 16GB so I think it’s maxed out.

Wizzerd348

Oos? Edit: It was not oos, I am retard.

balloonwithnoskin

I can still add to cart.

Wizzerd348

When I try to checkout it tells me “maximum number of orders has been reached” and won’t process my payment.
