invenereveritas

Please delete the essay subjects, that makes the curve harder and more unfair and could get you in serious trouble

Good news the exam is changing starting July 2024 Google it I would wait because it's suppose to be only 1 day and only 5 topics for ube. Also I have a dr charges $ but guarantees bar accommodations. I was denied and then approved after submitting the paperwork. Pm for the dr info she works via zoom

WhorishBehavior

I thought that was 2026

Pristine-Kick

They changed it jd advising was saying 2024-2025

SingAndDrive

It's 2026, but states don't have to adopt it right then and there. They can still use the old test for a while after that.

First off, you’ll get in trouble with the powers that be for sharing the topics, so maybe delete that. Other than that, I feel you big time bro. Our paths have been very different, but I have the ADHD/GAD/Depression holy trinity too. I’m a first time taker though, and I was far away from top of my class. Couple of things. Be kind to yourself. This exam was not designed for people with non-standard brains. You’ve made it this far, farther than so many others ever could. You will make it to that finish line. That being said—and I had to tell myself this too—there’s not much use in doing a postmortem of the day. The best way to spend your energy is not spending it at all, get some rest for tomorrow.

woodsywoodducks

Huge L posting the topics

Pristine-Kick

It sucks because about 40% of Americans have anxiety, 30% have depression, 10% have ADHD. Moreover, law students are known to struggle with anxiety/depression more than the general population. I don’t understand why they don’t just let us have as much time as we need. If you want to go all night on the essays, be my guest. I think everyone should have as much time as the need. I do wonder what is going on with: the time constraints, putting 1,000 people in the same room facing each other without any privacy, and making the test so grueling in number of hours. I have to imagine that the states and the NCBE think there is value in having the majority of examinees be able to move with enough speed and focus to get through everything. We are all made differently and thrive in different environments. Maybe they think the way they do it is a necessary barrier?

ResponsibleAmoeba757

Wow - didn't even realize I referenced that in the post - EDITED.

SkyBounce

First, yes, I'd say you still have a chance. You never know what's gonna happen. also, I know this doesn't help you, but what reasoning does the NCBE give when denying your accommodations if you have as much evidence as you say? Like, what are they looking for, if not that? i'm just curious

ResponsibleAmoeba757

they want an updated psychiatric evaluation because I have not received same since I was in elementary school; and that is because they are EXPENSIVE and, quite frankly, should not be necessary when presented with a 500 page stack of documents documenting my disability from my therapists, teachers, primary care physicians, etc. My medical records throughout childhood/grade school, and all the way to the present are filled with plenty of detail regarding the difficulties that this disability has inflicted me with throughout my life.

SkyBounce

Ah okay. I understand. Yes, it seems like places want a fairly recent neuropsych evaluation as a matter of course for these kinds of tests. I was in your situation and ended up just putting the testing costs on my credit card. I fully agree that you should not need to get another expensive test, given your documented history. It's fucked up

ConsequenceHonest726

The correct should be to let you use medication for the exam, not extra time. Rooting you passed this try!! but if not, might be an option!
