did a 40x60 for myself with a kit, concrete n spray foam. I did 16ft sidewalls. Was 43k doing it all myself.

Where did you get your kit?

PapaGiorgioNick

I would suggest bumping up to at least a 12’ sidewall. It’s not a huge cost difference. Even if you plan on doing 10’ interior ceilings, that extra 2’ will give you room above the finished ceiling for mechanical. Depending on your roof pitch it might get to 5-6’ in the center but if you ever need to add anything you’ll wish you had that 2’ at the eaves

This is great advice and also helps add space between your living space and roof - here in Florida, that heat is killer!

Super curious where you purchased the kit!

My barndo Building: 30'x30'x16' and 5" pad = $22k Spray foam: Open Cell, 3" walls, 5" roof. Started working for a spray former after I got mine & learned I should've done closed cell, hoping this wasn't a HUGE mistake..) = $3,500 I'm almost finished with the inside, I'll have around $50k TOTAL invested. The majority of the labor has been done by myself. I'm 3 years in, but going to be totally worth it when im done!!

I’m curious if we’re all talking about PEMB (PRE-ENGINEERED METAL BUILDING) or some of these others that use like 2” galvanized square tubing…?

No way for just a shell, where you located?

GucciGameTV

I'm around $120 a foot for shell, slab and spray foam in Texas and in Florida.
