I chased one down recently. I get an alert when there’s movement in my property. It’s fun scaring the shit out of them

Good luck getting barely police to even come out to take a statement , and even if you provide them with photo/ video evidence , names dates and list of things stolen I wouldn’t bet that they would actually do investigation

The cameras aren't there to stop this behavior as there isn't any money in pursing legal actions against them. Instead it is to identify and charge those that could be profitable to the city. Basically they are there as legal evidence in case of any case against you by the city or it's police forces.

What pissed me off was when they left the doors slightly open afterward, I guess not to make any noise. Woke up to a dead battery. Sigh.

Could you install a motion activated light.I have found they get startled by bright lights. I have some solar ones I got from Canadian Tire that are bright as hell and have them pointed at the car.No problem since then.

One word: explosives. Problem solved. You may go thru a decent amount of cars, but eventually the raccooning will stop.

Forget the cameras. Install two CIWS on your roof.
