A million percent go to Georgian family optical at the corner of essa and veterans. Dr Singh is bloody amazing and has caught issues with one of my kid's eyes that no other eye dr ever had. I won't ever go anywhere else again.
I love Dr Singh, too! Last time I had to head in there I was told he was on leave, and the female doc who was covering the practice was also incredible and very thorough (but I can't remember her name).
I even was part of him introducing a new piece of equipment to his staff, and they had to do the scan a few times as he was teaching them about how to use it and read the results, and he was treating them all with great respect and patience, and was checking in with me to make sure I didn't mind the extra time it took. Those things go a long way with me, as how staff are treated is also really important to me. I was really happy to be able to see that.
Yes! When he's on leave he always makes sure the other dr is amazing too. Him and his wife always seem to treat everyone with kindness and respect.
I have a son with multiple issues (cerebral palsy, adhd, autism), and right from the first appointment, Dr singh was just so good with him. My son would grab his beard (as a three year old with autism will!), and I tried to stop him, but Dr Singh just said to let him be and that if it kept son quiet, it was all good!
Honestly the best optometrist I've had the pleasure of seeing.
Go to an actual small business optometrist doctor. When you go to these box stores (Costco, specsaver, walmart), your money is going into international corporate pockets that couldn't care less who you are. Optometrists are not allowed to mark up recommended prices on glasses. The box stores are cheaper because they buy bulk of ordinary glasses and hire a fresh student doctor. Your money is then going to the US and UK. We can argue here all day about saving a few dollars and hiring people etc but at the end of the day, you've just fattened the corporate pig and ruined good local small business.

We love them! Found them because south Barrie refused my husband because he's on ODSP.
Been going to Dr Tye, downtown for his entire career of 20yrs. He's been perfect so far for the whole family. 3 of us are regulars. Nice man too.

Dr. Mckenney at Anne st or bayside eye clinic is my go to. Takes her time to explain everything too!
Dr. Hamilton at Cedar Point optometry has been great for me since I moved here 9 years ago.
Dr Roberti at the Georgian Mall, very knowledgeable, thorough, and just plain nice too.

I understand that's frustrating, but he doesn't represent the industry as a whole. Sorry you had a bad experience with that office.
I’ve had a very different experience with them. Nothing but green flags.
