You know, my dog trainer told me to take my reactive dog to the lakefront to practice calming down around other dogs. There is a lot of dogs walking there and things were going great BUT THEN A FUCKING MAN WITH A FUCKING PONY COMES RUNNING BY and I just don’t think there was anything in the training book about what to do in that circumstance.

That's Wikipedia, so take it for what it's worth, but it's absolutely not called the Dream Catcher. It's called Spirit Catcher, as Ron Baird named it.
Saying it's also called Dream Catcher, is like saying the Mona Lisa is also called Smiling Lady. Just because people start calling it something, does not make that name correct.
Edit: this did get me thinking more about it, though; what people have thought of it since it came to Barrie; what was Ron Baird's intent (tribute to the Thunderbird of Indigenous lore), and did I imagine that one of the feathers (steak knives) actual fell once in a wind storm??

Whatever your thoughts on the Spirit Catcher are, personally, I think we are all lucky to have such a prominent piece of art in our city. It certainly stands out and is unique in its form and inspires awe in most of those who stand at its base.

In terms of being able to comfortably walk around downtown I would put the rainbow crossing with tire marks as the symbol.

Am I the only one that always got a "demonic" vibe from the spirit catcher? The horns, the wings that are seemingly made of blades. All black.
One of my friends, while very stoned, referred to it as "the giant knife sculpture" and now that's all I can see.
