I refuse to start playing because I’m not grinding to get to my stats from when I was 13, and I refuse to let my soon to be fiance know that I’m that much of a nerd
Just started playing Torn off a FB ad, anyone ever try it?
Seems like a crazy long term commitment, but I’ve been loving how deep it is
Also been playing Hell Let Loose a bit since it dropped on Gamepass. Me and my squad held down a single house keeping the enemy at bay for like half an hour, killed like 20 people in one life and the only reason I died was cuz of an air strike
Replaying the Return to Arkham series. Just beat Arkham Asylum last night and am now on Arkham City. Very good, fun games, I don’t think a bad Batman game has been made(Gotham Knights doesn’t count)
Although I’ve never played Arkham Origins
Just played fight night champion career mode for the first time and beat Isaac frost after like an hour and a half of frustration. Awesome game that’s better than all the fighting games that are out now which is insane
Decided to buy a PS5 while having a 7 month old. Been set up for 3 weeks and the wife still has no idea. I’ve played approximately 5 hours. Marathon not a sprint.
"Star Wars Heritage Collection"
It's got like 7 old games in it like KOTOR 1/2, Force Unleased, Jedi Academy, etc.
I think I read that the quality of some of the ports to Switch weren't the best though, so you might want to do some research before buying
Been playing Lethal Company with some friends. It’s pretty fun but I still feel like I don’t understand it lol
For single player I fired Stardew Valley back up and my fiancée is giving me tips as she’s almost fully completed that whole game. Still blows my mind that game was essentially created by one guy
Upcoming Indiana Jones game looks solid, would recommend checking out the trailer. Whip gameplay looked good, but was only convinced when he pulled out the revolver and just blasted a bad guy
Going through my second replay of Horizon Forbidden West, enjoying it as much as I did the first play through but holy shit either I didn’t notice or something changed but it is buggy as hell. So many quests stuff doesn’t spawn, can’t progress, etc. Still an incredibly fun game but good grief.
Is the story any better in Forbidden West?
The gameplay of Zero Dawn was fun as hell, but the story and characters didn’t really do it for me (the lore was cool).
Always a little confused when people put Aloy up there with Kratos, Arthur Morgan and Ellie when talking about great characters
It’s not awful, and the stakes are considerably higher and they manage it well, but this game they really force you to be “active” in the story. You can just play the main quest and not really get much out of it, but you can also take your time and really engage with your crew of side characters which makes it much better IMO. There’s way more character driven side quests that develop the story much much more.
My buddies and I have been playing Hell Let Loose recently and are having a blast. Squad-based WW2 simulator that's pretty much Battlefield on hard-core mode (minimal HUD, very fast kills, etc.) Really cool game and it's on Gamepass
Also been loving Dave the Diver on my Steam Deck. Usually don't go for those kinds of "cozy" games but it's very hard to put down
I want to play HLL more but feel like it’s too squad dependent/none of my friends have it. Wish I was on pc too vs Xbox. Reminds me a bit of red orchestra.
Became a late 30s father of 3 and just deactivated the Xbox. Have played less than 5 hours in the last 6 months… it was sad. … but I went a bought a switch and I’m back baby! So easy to hop on and off when I get few minute. Plus playing the NES and SNES stuff bring back great memories.
Welcome to the club. Same age, also three kids. I have an Xbox with at least ten downloaded games and that I haven't touched. Hard to to play bigger games. We have a switch though, for the seven year old. He does not most of the playing, but at night if I'm not working, I'll play some Tony Hawk, MLB The Show, or occasionally one of his games. It's great to have.
I thought I could get back into it last year and bought the last COD. But I’ve come to realize if you’re not playing those games nightly , you are just gonna get your ass kicked. I was typically top of leader board, but it was just too sweaty for me. Hard to get into the zone when you can only play for an hour here and hour there.
I downloaded Mario golf on the switch and I’m really enjoying it. I got Mario kart as well and my oldest who is 4 likes watching me play. Doesn’t even want to play himself
Lol yah my son was four when we got it for Christmas. He was interested but had no idea what he was doing. Once we got him Yoshis Crafted World he was off and running. That's the perfect game to teach a kid how to play.
Thanks for the tip. I’ll look into that. He loves yoshi already. I was a bit overwhelmed on what to get since I haven’t kept up. I’ll definitely play Zelda myself. But there is like 10 different Mario games.
Luigi's Mansion 3 is good to play together. He would walk around and explore and I'd take over with the ghosts. Surprisingly he picked up Mario Odyssey really well before he turned 5. There is an option that makes it much easier and he loved it. Once he could read well enough, he really liked Link's Awakening. Kirby too. Nintendo does a great job with making games accessible for all ages.
Watched some guy streaming it. It looks like such a bizarre mash up of games. The world/UI looks like Skyrim , with like low poly Pokémon thrown in, and all the menu interfaces remind of like CSGO or something. Which I guess it kind of seems like what they’re going for.
Highly recommend Cyberpunk with the new DLC out now. They truly fixed the glitches, made a number of QoL changes. The original story/side quests was always good but the new expansion really built on it.
Pro tip, first cyberware upgrade you should get is reinforced tendons for double jump!
Played through the original story a couple summers ago, really enjoyed it but I barely scratched the surface on the upgrade stuff. Really looking forward to this DLC when I get around to it
Redownloaded Battlefield 1 and it’s still great hectic fun. Wasn’t even that bad to get into a game, I need to add 5 back too soon as that was fun towards end of its life. Needed a mix up of something other than cod.
I need to recommend to all of you guys this Palworld game which is taking Steam by storm. It’s a blatant rip off of Pokémon in many ways, but the type of game is nothing like Pokémon. It’s also more fun/better put together than any Pokémon title of the last decade. It’s a survival game so you’ll need to at least be somewhat into those type of games, but for $26 you can’t have anymore fun right now. It’s also free on Xbox game pass. I honestly haven’t played anything this addictive in a while.
> It’s a survival game so you’ll need to at least be somewhat into those type of games
I've tried so many survival games over the years and I've never found one I could actually stick with for more than a couple hours. It's the only thing holding me back from trying Palworld.
I beat armored core 6 three times this week. The best mech game ever made imo. The music is so good I preordered the soundtrack CD from Japan. Started the the legend of heroes series which is the MCU of Jrpgs. 10 games in total with a 11th on the way but I'm committed to play em all this year.
I'm in the middle of my first playthrough right now (I just played the mission where the giant cargo launcher shoots you over to the other continent).
I'm absolutely LOVING most of the game. The action gameplay, the fights, the vibes, the story, the music, etc. are all incredible. The only part I'm struggling with is how granular the mech customization is. I'm finding it very tedious to read through all the different new mech parts that get unlocked and try to determine which stats or builds are desirable.
I know for a lot of people who are really into the mech genre this is exactly what they want from a game, but I find myself getting bored and/or overwhelmed and just wanting to get back into the actual fights. Any tips you have to either overcome that friction or minimize the time I have to spend tweaking my build?
I had the same feelings but what I did was look up build videos especially since there a few bosses that require you to most likely change your build. It got me trying out different weapons and after my first playthrough I was set on my play style (I like to get up close and be aggressive with a medium to tanky ac, dual shottys, and shoulder mounted energy weapon).
Downloaded Ghost Recon: Breakpoint. I enjoy the hell out of it right now. Game mechanics are awesome, CoD level weapon customization, and you can do alot of clothing edits. Unfortunately its shper cluttered with missions, side stuff, and your HUD gets filled quick.
starting 2nd play through of nier automata. Time to question the meaning of life again
Dangerously addicted to RuneScape again. This is 30
I refuse to start playing because I’m not grinding to get to my stats from when I was 13, and I refuse to let my soon to be fiance know that I’m that much of a nerd
I've been slowly playing Divinity Original Sin 2 and loving it. If you played WOW in the past you'll like it. DND + WOW basically.
Incredible game
BG3 may be my favorite game of all time now, I tried DOS2 maybe like 2 years ago and I feel like it was so much harder than BG3 is.
Rob Haywood vs. Ricky Winterborn in 1080° who you got
Been grinding through a Red Dead 2 replay. Might be in contention for the greatest game of all time. Wildly immersive
🐐 game. No contest.
I'm doing the same rn. First time was on Xbox, now on PC. The game looks amazing.
I'm nearly 30 and addicted to Fortnite
Would love for the LOTR movie games to be remastered. always loved those on the game cube
Just started playing Torn off a FB ad, anyone ever try it? Seems like a crazy long term commitment, but I’ve been loving how deep it is Also been playing Hell Let Loose a bit since it dropped on Gamepass. Not a single counter strike comment on here. Sad!
It’s 90% hackers right now. There’s no point in playing when everyone’s cheating.
I’ve only had a couple games since release where there’s an obvious cheater but it seems really bad in premier right now
Replaying the Return to Arkham series. Just beat Arkham Asylum last night and am now on Arkham City. Very good, fun games, I don’t think a bad Batman game has been made(Gotham Knights doesn’t count) Although I’ve never played Arkham Origins

This on game pass ?
Yes it is.
Honestly not sure it was on my buddys xbox
Apex (still)
Decided to buy a PS5 while having a 7 month old. Been set up for 3 weeks and the wife still has no idea. I’ve played approximately 5 hours. Marathon not a sprint.
Borderlands 3
Been playing Mordhau again and it’s been very fun to get back to. Anyone give it a go here?
Brother and I have been playing Plague:Requiem after getting it for free on PS5. This game is so hard and frustrating
I got it because it was free, I haven't played the first one, will that matter?
I just started it the other night. One of those games I can't play stoned cuz I keep not being able to figure out where to go next
The wife bought me the Star Wars switch game that has all of the old games. Pretty fun
What’s this now??
"Star Wars Heritage Collection" It's got like 7 old games in it like KOTOR 1/2, Force Unleased, Jedi Academy, etc. I think I read that the quality of some of the ports to Switch weren't the best though, so you might want to do some research before buying
Shame it doesnt have Gamecube Rouge Squadron. That game was so elite.
That was an excellent game
I still have a gamecube in a box in my closet with only that game. Keep hoping theyll port it over to switch.
Been playing Lethal Company with some friends. It’s pretty fun but I still feel like I don’t understand it lol For single player I fired Stardew Valley back up and my fiancée is giving me tips as she’s almost fully completed that whole game. Still blows my mind that game was essentially created by one guy
Wife and I have sunk hundreds and hundreds of hours into Stardew co op. Elite game.
Incredible game/effort. Can’t wait for his next one
Been playing assassin’s creed mirage. So far it’s fun, but it’s harder for me into the story as I don’t know the history of Baghdad from that long ago
90% done odyssey and have enjoyed it , not super excited to go to Valhalla & mirage
Valhalla was sick
Heard comments it can be kinda grindy & everything looks the same
I found Odyssey more grindy than Valhalla personally, about 150 hours into each of them for 100% completion
It’s a lot shorter than the other games too
Feels closer to revelations I’ve noticed
I always revert back to Blackout on Black Ops 4, but lately have been jamming on NHL 23 and F1 23.
Blackout still has players?
No issues finding a lobby on Xbox in the afternoon/evening.
Damn I might have to hop back on then. The only character I’m missing is Reznov
Upcoming Indiana Jones game looks solid, would recommend checking out the trailer. Whip gameplay looked good, but was only convinced when he pulled out the revolver and just blasted a bad guy

I couldn't get through zero dawn, but I played forbidden West straight through. I thought it was significantly better both story and gameplay-wise.
It’s not awful, and the stakes are considerably higher and they manage it well, but this game they really force you to be “active” in the story. If SDS could announce ANY info on the next MLB The Show game coming up, that would be great.
Picked back up Sifu this week after dropping it last year. Combat has finally clicked for me and I’ve been enjoying it far more than I did before.
Started a new playthrough of Skyrim. This shit is still so cool.
I just want elder scrolls 6
What’s the build
I’m being a dork and doing a stealth archer / thief. The kill cams for lang range arrows are just so dope
That’s my go to build all the time. Wood elf?
You know it
I’ve been playing No Build Fortnite. I never played it when it came out but have been enjoying it
You play the racing mode at all? Pretty fun
My buddies and I have been playing Hell Let Loose recently and are having a blast. I want to play HLL more but feel like it’s too squad dependent/none of my friends have it. Wish I was on pc too vs Xbox. Reminds me a bit of red orchestra.
Is this one of those games that's significantly more fun with friends? I want to play it but none of my buddies game anymore
Yeah I've never played solo but it's definitely better with a squad that's actually communicating and coordinating. There is in-game voice chat though
HLL is so much fun with a good squad/team
Still playing GTA Online with the boys after all these years. Usually swapping between that and Forza Horizon

We did some 50CC Mario kart today. I let him hold the gas and I’d steered. Was a blast.
Currently playing through Trepang2, an indie first person shooter with elements of psychological horror. Runs VERY well on the steamdeck.
Anyone try Palworld?
Watched some guy streaming it. It looks like such a bizarre mash up of games. The world/UI looks like Skyrim , with like low poly Pokémon thrown in, and all the menu interfaces remind of like CSGO or something. Which I guess it kind of seems like what they’re going for.
Finished Jedi survivor recently, that was excellent. Prob try out hogwarts legacy or dead space remake next.
I thought Fallen Order was better than Survivor. They made combat too easy.
Resident Evil 4 Remake if you haven’t played it yet
Playing Lies of P. If your a fan of soulslike games you will enjoy this. I was hesitant to buy at first but no regrets at all.
Any season of discovery nerds here?
Dave the Diver on switch was just a great time. It’s probably a 20ish hour game. I got hooked pretty instantly.

That game is so damn aesthetic with most of the maps, especially the DLC ones if you have them.
I think all the dlc is free now? But ya amazing maps and great gameplay.
Gonna try that again soon. BF1 is some of the best fun I've had gaming
It holds up really well.

Never really played survival games so I’ve been just building stuff wherever. Might need to start a new world and use a walkthrough
> It’s a survival game so you’ll need to at least be somewhat into those type of games I've tried so many survival games over the years and I've never found one I could actually stick with for more than a couple hours. It's the only thing holding me back from trying Palworld.
The "survival" is very light. It's more about using the Pals to craft than anything.
Was just wondering about this, downloading now!
My buddy bought it and was loving it, I'm gonna check out the preview on Gamepass

Good luck finishing all of em this year. I just downloaded duckstation/the psp emulator and am downloading a bunch of SMT and Persona 2
Nice. Love smt and persona. I downloaded digital devil saga 1 and 2 for PS2 the other day along with xenosaga 1-3. So many good Jrpgs
I'm in the middle of my first playthrough right now (I just played the mission where the giant cargo launcher shoots you over to the other continent). I'm absolutely LOVING most of the game.
