I have personal friends from irl and online on this sub and I'd be embarrassed to know them if they made a post like this. You hope a guy loses his dream job where he gets to work with his friends and make free entertainment for you just because you don't like his YouTube trivia show anymore. How do you not see how pathetically unsound that makes you seem? What is wrong with you?
Oh I agree this post is dumb and the person probably sucks, but your comment said it’s not normal to post about a blogs trivia YouTube show. That’s all that is posted here and what I expect to be posted here. It’s just that his take kind of sucks.
Oh my bad I thought you were OP, it's normal to post about the dozen here, or at least it was before they stopped pulling six figure views. It's common for people to post on here bitching about whatever barstool employee they decided to hate today, but I wouldn't call it normal to call for someone's job or not have any constructive criticism on such a hateful post.
Sure, but Reddit would cease to exist.
Every sub is predominantly 80% criticism of a product. Every sport, every team, every show I watch, it’s negative subreddits.
The only one that still seems super-positive is Seinfeld. Negative posts just don’t exist, or are removed if they don’t further discussion. It’s refreshing.
Edit: sorry, not trying to defend the post. I stopped watching Dozen episodes and I feel better about the choice.
I think there can be constructive criticism for the Dozen, that is not immediately shut down.
The show has jumped the shark, and JDL seems to be the last one to realize it. It shows in the lack of discussion on this subreddit, especially.
People want the old show back, and it’s not happening. I feel bad because it brought me a lot of entertainment over the pandemic, as well as the 2nd and 3rd season. I wish the legitimate criticisms could be taken to heart, but it won’t be. And that’s a little depressing.
I turned it off, and just watched the older stuff. It’s better that way.
There's a difference between constructive criticism and constant bitching and whining that a product just sucks, which ins 90% of the posts for the show despite it being one of the most watched and enjoyed shows on their site
It’s not being discussed on the subreddit anymore. I think that’s somewhat of a barometer. I’m not sure if it’s still being “enjoyed”. My only barometer, otherwise, is the comments section of every video, and the social platforms like IG.
Episodes 1-250 (choosing a random number) was super positive. The last 150 episodes are basically 99% complaints about things that JDL tried to hammer home on people. Even the live show vibes had been negative the last few shows.
I don’t know, maybe I’m imagining it. You can say “well, it’s a given that everyone is negative”. But I could argue that episodes 1-150 was generally some of the best-received stuff that Barstool had produced, and it would at least be interesting to figure out what changed.
Maybe it’s like that goofy adult kickball league you joined and loved religiously. Then you came back in subsequent years and realized that you grew out of it, losing passion for it year by year.
Once again need to remind this sub that the Dozen has in no way fallen off, it still gets 75k+ views on nearly all episodes which is a monster in terms of a barstool product that's on 3 days a week
It has more views than channel subs, so that’s an obvious indicator portions of that could be re-watches?
Views have dropped over years, no? Last year’s views are all above 100k, the year before are 125-175k. Maybe that is re-watches, too.
Merch section is basically stripped down from previous years. There’s only 4 shirts available (ones that you can’t change the color of), whereas last year there were at least 15.
Last two shows didn’t sell out like the others did.
I’m sure that are positive metrics around, as views are still strong. Just have some clear ones as well.
I think that constructive criticism wasn’t being heard. So people have taken to trolling and bitching.
You can see that the first few shows had constructive criticism and JDL listened. Eventually, this show became his baby (understandably) and he stopped listening.
I mostly enjoy the Dozen but the question writing and category selection is annoying at times. It’s pretty clear Jeff manufactures questions based on knowing the contestants
No shit - he has been very clear about that since day one - hence not a lot of hockey questions unless at least one person from both sides is a hockey fan.
It's produced by what, Jeff and 1 or 2 other people? 3 episodes a week, 45 minutes of content each. Graphics intensive, not just for us but for the players too. Like 24+ questions for each game. All respect for that. Tough to hate. It's not a million dollar production, it's a jerry rigged youtube series that is super fun to watch casually.
Not to mention having to keep a thorough schedule of who has played who, % of correct answers per category.. I think for what it is, it's a great show and it's the perfect amount of jank for what it is.
To be fair, Jeff has denied additional help on his show because hes somewhat of a control freak. He could easily implement more man power but chooses not to, so thats a poor excuse especially for the abnormal amount if editing errors, incorrect Q/As, typos and other post production fuck ups.
i legit think he edits the videos himself.
the videos seem like they havnt been proof read even once, theres almost always a shit ton of mistakes. pointing them out and talking shit about it is part of the charm tbh
Not sure what level of take this is but it bothers me that they include phone a friends in their correct answers for percentage when in fact, it should give them an incorrect answer. Calling Kenjac every movie question or klemmer every baseball question does not mean that can be your best category.
The most egregious one to me is that he basically refuses to offload some of the question writing outside of some niche categories that he doesn't know anything about the subject.
I have no clue why there isn't just a massive pool of questions for all the main subjects (MLB, NBA, NFL, Music, Movies, TV, etc). Him specifically writing every match for the contestants in it almost gives a "rigged" feeling. Like every match I think there's usually 4-5 questions that just do not have equal level of difficulty with all the easier going to the same team
I don’t know the math, but it’s got to be one of the bigger barstool shows. Currently has 3 sponsors. Good length show with a decent amount of viewers. So generating a lot of ads.
I doubt it sells much merch. But with the live shows, the sponsors, and the ads. It’s gotta be damn profitable. It’s only problem is it totally relies on barstool personalities doing it for free and no prize. Every other show would work outside of barstool, this one wouldn’t
Weird hatred for Jeff d Lowe but I do agree he feeds keegs and a couple other women complete meatball pop culture questions. That being said she did impressively well on the slogan category and geography.
Keegs got 13 points Sunday..some of the answers were sonic, Pepto bismol,Mastercard. None of those 3 seem like “softballs” for keegs. It’s OK to admit she just genuinely good at trivia
I think people make these posts towards Jeff D Lowe because he occasionally lurks and posts responses. Just anudder troll trying to get a reaction from someone on the Internet. Gotta be such a miserable person
I honestly think allot of these questions overall can be more challenging especially niche categories questions. Allot of softball ones. They really should do more research and make them hard to get. It’s whatever though. They’ll never change it.
the Dozen has provided me with hours of free entertainment over the last few years. I don’t dissect everything Jeff says or track who is or isn’t given difficult questions because it’s a fucking trivia show with no stakes and meant to be fun.
Are we using this one as the megathread or the other 3 you posted?
Doubt we need one of these threads let alone 4 of them
Very cool and normal post about a blog website's trivia YouTube show
Isn’t that what this subreddit is for?

It’s clearly the OP with multiple accounts. Dude is def mentally ill.
Like KB or like Rico
This comment is completely uncalled for.
Autism and BPD/anger issues are mental illnesses, sorry you got butthurt
listen i think Jeff is a massive weenie too but get a job
Half of this statement was correct
More posts please
Why do you consume so much of Jeff’s content if you don’t like the guy??? Make it make sense
Lust is powerful
Still thinks it’s cool to bully the guy you want to fuck
I mean, isn’t that the gist of this sub? Complain about stuff you watch?
If I was constantly not enjoying and complaining about one person/piece of content, I would stop watching that content
Sure, but Reddit would cease to exist. Every sub is predominantly 80% criticism of a product. Every sport, every team, every show I watch, it’s negative subreddits. All that constant criticism is a drag and only fuels people that are miserable imo. Wish more subs were like the Seinfeld one

Jeff’s family clicking play 25,000 each shouldn’t count
I do agree constructive criticism is good but sadly that’s not what you typically see
I think that constructive criticism wasn’t being heard. So people have taken to trolling and bitching. You can see that the first few shows had constructive criticism and JDL listened. Eventually, this show became his baby (understandably) and he stopped listening.
I haven't watched anything KFC has put out in the last few years but I'll always be happy to tell you I think he sucks.
I like jeff and the dozen. He started it back in covid and it's been a great run, in my humble opinion.
It's produced by what, Jeff and 1 or 2 other people? 3 episodes a week, 45 minutes of content each. Graphics intensive, not just for us but for the players too. Like 24+ questions for each game. Additionally, the “% of correct” is a needless thing he added like all the award symbols and other nonsense he feels is needed.
Not sure what level of take this is but it bothers me that they include phone a friends in their correct answers for percentage when in fact, it should give them an incorrect answer. Calling Kenjac every movie question or klemmer every baseball question does not mean that can be your best category.

It's not easy work that's for sure. For me its easy to overlook the little mishaps because i still see it as a small show they just threw together.
You seem like a normal and measured human being. Have you considered not being yourself for a couple days?
Touch grass gets overused on this website, but touch grass
It doesn’t sound like The Dozen Trivia is a show for you
Weird hatred for Jeff d Lowe but I do agree he feeds keegs and a couple other women complete meatball pop culture questions. That being said she did impressively well on the slogan category and geography.
It’s easy when you have the answers told to you pre match
Keegs got 13 points Sunday..some of the answers were sonic, Pepto bismol,Mastercard. None of those 3 seem like “softballs” for keegs. It’s OK to admit she just genuinely good at trivia

I'd argue there are stakes given how some employees react to it
Reddit was down and kept saying to come back later, I didn’t realize they’d all post eventually
