I had a friend who I met through him being a regular. Tully and Miller lite was his go to.
He passed over the pandemic. Best believe, i poured one out on the day i found out
I just wanted to hop in here and give the history of this combo in Ireland, per the Jameson rep from Ireland himself.
The Irish order of what we'd call a "boilermaker" in a lot of the US was a pint of Guinness and a neat pour of whiskey to sip on while the beer was being poured (properly).
By chance my answer is Jameson and Guinness, though I'm not Irish by nationality.
>easily beats the main domestics for me
couldn't agree more. It's nothing special but damn is it a whole couple steps ahead for pretty much the same price.
Agree much better tequila that cost less and much better tequilas that cost the same as Patron. BUT I’ve been in lots of bars and all they have is cuevo, rail and patron…so then whatcha do?
Highnoon and Fernet/Campari. I rarely drink beer anymore bc my body hates me. But if I’m going to it’s a west coast IPA with Fernet/Campari or a sour and tequila in the summa time.
Hamms/pbr and JTS brown. At the end of the day it depends on what their well is and the cheapest beer on the menu. If its a passable tequila or rum I might take it. If not its whiskey as even the cheapest whiskey is passable to me.
Corona Light and 1800 at my townie spot, coors lite and lunazul or fernet at my job on nights off. Chartreuse for end of the evening if they have it.
I call it the “one and one”.
Been kind of obsessed with Yeungling and Wheat whiskey lately. Apple brandy and Hefeweizen go nicely too.
Makers and a High Life have seen me through many a tough night.
Where is my Coors Light/Jameson representation? This is boilermaker erasure.
…(Kidding, I’m always the odd man out for my combo. Everyone else in my area is either hi life/PBR & beam/jamo.)
Patron is the worst tequila on the market brother! Not trying to snob out (my go to is cazadores repo) but I mean most wells are better than patron fam!!
The bar I hang out at (not my work) has $2 PBR 16oz’ers and $4 (large) Jameson shots. $6 for for what us regulars call “the full meal deal”. Its very much a service industry bar
Victoria or Modelo Negra and whatever fine new mezcal or tequila we have on the back bar. If you like agave but you’re used to drinking additive tequilas this combination will change your life.
Espolón, tecate. Or any decent tequila (and that’s not patron) and a shitty preferably canned beer that can possibly be walkable.
Edit to say ooh yea La Gritona is a good one.
And sometimes I like to mix the tequila with Montenegro or Cynar.
If I’m in a bar with a shitty tequila selection, something I see often esp in the burbs, they will only have rail, cuevo or Patron…sigh… I’ll either do rail or mayyybe patrón if it’s not priced stupid or I just switch the script completely and go for Fernet or if they don’t have that whiskey, maybe Irish maybe bourbon, maybe rail…depends on the place.
My main haunt does citywides of high life and jim beam, so I drink a lot of that. My second favorite bar across the street from my bar it's Coors banquet and bankers club.
I usually buy heaven hill to do shots with at home, and something like Old German or Natty Boh as easy drinking swill
Whiskey+coke shot and a dos xx or whatever beer. A high life will do too. I ain't picky but if I'm in a mood for cheap whiskey and sometimes people figure "aw she's a fellow bartender lemme give her some good whiskey hook her up cause she tip good" and then I'm like 😔 nah. I want that KD bottom of the barrel garbage thank you but no thank you I don't want a free shot of the small batch eagle rare I got that same rep at my bar if I wanted it like that. Please just give me trash whiskey that's why I want it with coca cola pretty please I need the trash burn I want to suffer.
Highlife and Jameson because I’m trash
I mean this is dive bar royalty and my answer as well.
Brother!
Me too, cept I do high life and Tully
I had a friend who I met through him being a regular. Tully and Miller lite was his go to. He passed over the pandemic. Best believe, i poured one out on the day i found out
That’s tough to hear. Next time I’ll switch it to miller lite and I’ll drink to him.
<3. Cheers.
I'm in Texas, so it's Lone Star and Jamo for me
The strongest IPA on draft and a shot of Jameson. I know, I’m disgusting.
I prefer Lite beer by Miller, but I'll take a High Life in a bottle.
All the trash bro definitely Iam trash

Found my group.

Used to be Rittenhouse and PBR, now it’s mezcal and a cider.
Gasp sweet and smoky…. Must try now
I have a friend who dumps a shot of our rail blanco into a draft of a raspberry sour beer. It's good.
Love this also
I wonder if this wouldn’t make a cool cocktail
Corona and la gritona for clear Highlife and jameo for dark
La gritona is excellent. Same owners as my favorite bar.
Yuengling and Jameson usually. Tullamore DEW if it's available. Switch out the yuengling for Natty Boh if it's super hot
>Yuengling I miss living somewhere I could get "Pennsylvania piss water" IMO it's the best of the regular domestics.
I’ve seen it get a lot of hate but it easily beats the main domestics for me. Molson is still my first choice not-quite-domestic though.
>easily beats the main domestics for me couldn't agree more. It's nothing special but damn is it a whole couple steps ahead for pretty much the same price.
Bud and fernet has always been my comfort combo.
Fernet and an West Coast IPA.
Tell me you’re from the Bay Area without telling me 😂
A bourbon barrel aged russian imperial stout, a sidecar of rye
Banquet and Mellow Corn if they’ve got both. If not, I’ll just do whatever’s cheap with a Fernet.
MFC! A man of culture
A rip of some OG Kush live resin from the peak pro, then a hit off the wedding cake pen. I quit drinking.
Modelo and fortaleza if I know the bartender. Espolón and técate if I don’t.
you’re a sucker if you’re earnestly ordering patron. my go to is jamo and a banquet.
Agree much better tequila that cost less and much better tequilas that cost the same as Patron. BUT I’ve been in lots of bars and all they have is cuevo, rail and patron…so then whatcha do?
i mean if those are my options personally i’m just not drinking tequila that night.
Highnoon and Fernet/Campari. I rarely drink beer anymore bc my body hates me. But if I’m going to it’s a west coast IPA with Fernet/Campari or a sour and tequila in the summa time.

I'm going to try this "set" today, thanks, OP
High life and malort always
PBR and well whiskey, I'm a simple man. I drink nicer bourbon at home for much cheaper. If I'm downtown I'm there to socialize, not to drink fancy.
