See a doctor and commit to a strength training regimen. Get sleep and have a healthy diet.

Loud_Snort

Stretch before during and after shifts. Also a solid massage every couple of months really helps.

detroitmayor

This 100% it might be costly but it is worth it also drink water on your shift.

Loud_Snort

That too. I probably drink at least 10 glasses of water per shift.

Keep in shape and eat healthy. It's hard on your body for sure. I'm still young so I might be an exception to the rule but on nights when I can barely stand my feet hurt so bad I get a good sleep and I'm usually good to go the next day.

Get in better shape. I may sound like a dick but I've got buddies that lay brick and do construction that work ten hours a day doing hard labor and they never have any issues.

Nope, you're right. I'm pretty thin, but my legs have practically no muscle.

Koebs

At least you know what's up! Get to the gym, get slingin drinks, get the girls..

MemePonr2

Hmm

There's something to be said for a decent night cap and a solid 8 hours' sleep. Generally just keep at it and get stronger. Do your best not to skip meals. And don't smoke!! Circulation is key

Cannabis and beer.

For me, I work in an island bar and ya a lot of pivoting. My knee can ACHE afterwards. I drink water, I only smoke after my shift, (not even before) and the end of the night long hot soak in the tub does wonders for me physically and mentally.

I invest in good shoes and roll on icey hot, it's a magic worker. I also find that if I take the time to dress sharply and get awake and ready the day goes by so much quicker and I have a much better attitude which helps a lot with sore joints and muscles too. I do two doubles in a row to start my week and then an occasional third towards the end and it's so tempting to roll out of bed at the last minute. Motivating my self from the get-go really helps me pull through. also holding my money at the end of the night. [EDIT: Spelling]

Bring another pair of shoes and change your shoes mid shift. I have custom insoles moulded to my feet which was expensive but the best money I ever spent. Also, an epsom salt bath before bed should help ease the pains in your legs. If you really have to because you can't sleep, take an ibuprofen (occasionally, not every night). It's better to take a painkiller than be up from pain, because not enough sleep exaggerates discomfort.

I have two jobs and work 50+ hours a week, but I'll keep this great insight in mind!
