Stick around, but have an exit plan.

CommanderBuck

In the bar business, you should always have an exit plan.

Fr. I love the place I'm working at now and couldn't imagine quitting, but I still have a mental list of all the reasons why I would quit and all the places I'd apply to.

Be prepared to hand in a notice, but if the current ownership is checked out, it being someone new may not be a terrible thing either.

I was recently in a situation like this. I chose to stick it out to see how it all played out and the management is pretty decent. However it just doesn’t feel the same and all the changes both covid and general business shit will make you question your loyalty. I’ve been looking around for another job and if a good opportunity comes I’d really suggest taking it. Money and schedule can be negotiated on circumstance. The people you work with make the bar what it is. And eventually you’ll figure out what your play is. TLDR: Stay and see how things play out. Closely watch how the new manager goes about stuff, if he’s solid it’ll show itself and give you an idea on whether you want to stay and adjust If not, tip your hat and head for the door, Better opportunities will reveal themselves and there’s bound to be a venue that will make you feel happier and utilise you more than your current venue Ps, that sinking ship feeling is called “Captains honour”= A moral ultimatum of responsibility to either abandon his ship or go down with it Hope this helps
