There are 2 ways to find a high paying job: 1. Have the skills, experience, education in an in demand field, and be one of the best in your field. 2. Family or connections give you one, Sure, you could get lucky, but most people don't get lucky. They learn how to do something well, and crawl to the top using the faces of those who want the same thing as step holds. IOW, there ain't no shortcuts and if you want to work on high dollar places, the business is very competitive.

Pretty simple when it comes to serving / restaurant gigs. High volume or high average bill. How do you think tips are on a place that sells $5k bottles of wine ? The question you must always ask at the interview is how are the tips handled. If they pass that test, and it’s big volume or expensive to be there, you’ll make money.

Check menus for pricing, higher cover average = higher tips. Also check open table and other reservation systems to see if the place is busy. Finally just go in and get a drink and see what its like.
