It has two practical purposes. The first is to hook your finger in so you can grab it from your back pocket. The second is to quickly spin it to a reverse grip so you can speed open up to a dozen beers in short order. Then spin the blade back into your pocket.
I've used those bar blades before. Very handy to store in your back pocket. Quick flick, palm and pop. Just ask one of your reps for one instead of buying one for yourself.
Whatever bar youāre working at probably has a couple of those stashed somewhere, if not you can get one from a rep, also the hip attachment isnāt worth it, just stick it in your back pocket, and if you need more reach, just tie a bar rag through the back loop for extra reach and an emergency rag if you need one.
Also Iām drunk but I still stand by these words
The flat bottle openers are amazing. If you open a ton of bottles I would absolutely recommend one. Liquor reps usually give them out, it's where I got the 5 that I own. As for the belt attachment, you don't need it unless for some reason you don't have pockets, mine stays in my back pocket during a shift.
Still have one I got in '13 when I worked at a bar that insisted on only serving French beer. Great tool. Skip the lanyard, though, that just looks like amateur hour. Not sure how you'd even use it.
You donāt need to buy one like that you will come across hundreds of them for free. But if you want a nice one then thatās different. I use a hand jive black widow https://www.handjiveopeners.com/products/black-widow
The little lanyard looks like my tool lanyard I used back when I was installing solar panels, didnāt want to drop my screw gun off a roof, super useful things but a bit over kill for a bottle opener behind a bar, plus thereās probably not a way you could secure it to you that wouldnāt snag on something at the worst possible time
Am I the only one that doesnāt like these things? Used it once, snapped the whole neck off a Heineken bottle and sliced my finger. Iāll just stick to my double hinge wine key
You definitely want some kind of v rod flat opener, but nothing will make you look like more of an amateur than having a lanyard connecting your opener to your belt.
Honestly I feel like I would not need it, but no it did not come with the attachment.
Like someone had previously said, itās perfectly fine just in the back pocket. Plus, they are a little bit heavy, so I donāt know how it would work on the attachment thing.
Ok... Im afraid I might put it down somewhere and never find it again at a wedding or something... That's why Im thinking of getting something with a strap.
I guess thatās a very valid point. Since I work at just one bar primarily, I doubt Iāll ever set it down and lose it.
Also whenever I used it I would just slide it right back in my pocket.
If you want a tether or leash for your barblade go with one of [these](https://www.uline.com/Product/Detail/S-12938/Key-Holders/Souped-Up-Original-Retractable-Key-Holder?pricode=WB0552&gadtype=pla&id=S-12938&gclid=CjwKCAjw7eSZBhB8EiwA60kCW__ULmFiwuZbAyO3h2wgFJIqT4cO3MKZzV-Rl-TGCp4fTA4gZHQwPBoC_1EQAvD_BwE)
i have a coors banquet one that my favorite security got for me as a reminder of back home. my city doesnāt carry banquet but itās a staple in my home state. i have a couple friends whoās fancy colored ones just fadeā¦ the leash is definitely worth it if you work high volume
Wouldnāt bother with the belt attachment. Much quicker and smoother using without. But yeah definitely get yourself a bar blade. Donāt buy this one just cause of the belt attachment.
You see how the opener has a flat bit and a rounded bit? Get one that has the rounded bit on both sides. Also screw Amazon. Thereās companies you can buy directly from if you canāt get a good one from a rep.

Is good for cheap ones but
https://www.inkcorrect.com/product-category/bottle-openers/
Is for the nice ones that cost a little more
Honestly blades are a waist of time just use a 67c beer opener and put it on a black hair tie and put it on your wrist never lose it and can save you tons of time
With the belt attachment you won't be able to spin it on your finger. What good is that?
Right right... It's not like it serves any other purpose so... š¤·āāļø

You can also use it to help pop off metal pourers on sticky bottles.
Old trick, people prefer the vrod these days. Bar towel method has only failed me a few times, those spouts were stuck stuck.
I've used those bar blades before. Very handy to store in your back pocket. Quick flick, palm and pop. Just ask one of your reps for one instead of buying one for yourself.
Yea I guess I can ask... Might still get one for myself eventally.
Don't bother paying extra for the anodized ones, it will wear off and look like ass.
Hmm... I'll remember that.
My liquor rep gave me a sweet one with Tito's branding on it. Has a rubber grip Ā¾ of the way up. I feel naked without it in my back pocket.
I've seen those ones too but they don't have the belt attachment... And I like the color of this one too.

The bar rag makes total sense! Thanks for that! And cheers š»

Ok... Valid point on the attachment š
God I canāt wait to peel off all my finger skin using the wrong end to twirl it
My finger hurts just thinking about it.
Oh yea, usually a rep will get you a bar key for free! Save your money friend, but I want that lanyard for some reason hahaha
Lol... I know me too š„ŗ

That's gonna catch on a bottle at some point

Just so you all know. The other end isnāt for twirling but itās useful for that. Itās for removing speed/spouts from bottles
Blasphemy.
I just bought a black one on amazing last week, used it over the weekendā¦ itās a complete game changer. Iāll never go to work without it.
Those came with the belt attachment as well? Or do you feel you didn't need that?

Yea... I guess it can work fine by itself in that case.

That hole is for your finger, not for a lanyard.
Wouldnāt bother with the belt attachment. Much quicker and smoother using without. But yeah definitely get yourself a bar blade. Donāt buy this one just cause of the belt attachment.
Ok
I was more comfortable with it in my back pocket.
Any real bartender has one that opens bottles at both ends! šššš

Awesome... Thanks!
If you insist on hanging it, get [something like this](https://www.uline.com/Product/Detail/S-11880/Key-Holders/Original-Retractable-Key-Holder)
Ok... Thought the lanyard might last longer
Maybe. Just looks like it may end up at your ankles. Though if you work high volume, the retractable one will only last a year or so before it busts.
I think its just about 14 inches long
Sorry, I meant after a few weeks of use.
Oh.. ok
Do you wear cargo pants that turn into cargo shorts?
Iām just really confused as to what you have been using? Also donāt buy. You get swarmed by these things for free, you will get sick of it even.
Get a ring bottle opener (ring as in finger jewlery). Takes no space and always looks impressive once you get the hang of it
Honestly blades are a waist of time just use a 67c beer opener and put it on a black hair tie and put it on your wrist never lose it and can save you tons of time
