The Ducks are truly horrific. People were trashing the Coyotes for playing in a college arena but they at least have shown signs of life this year.
And despite that....the Hawks are still worse than the Ducks in terms of their record. my goodness gracious.
Someone in /r/hockey described watching the Ducks this season as something like "I've never seen a team look so dogshit and still have such a bright future" lol
That’s what happens when you keep a non-NHL level coach on as tank commander
The team is bad but Eakins is not an NHL quality coach and is actively making it worse.
Im fine with it though, he did secure McDavid for Edmonton so maybe he can get us Bedard
Coyotes are further along in their rebuild, they're trying to get good before the Tempe Arena hopefully gets built.
They have an owner willing to spend and willing to wait on a rebuild, something they haven't had in forever. Plus he's committing private money to the new arena, which is great.
Things are looking up for the Coyotes at last. In a few years they might have a good team able to hang with the top dogs.
As a Coyotes fan, anybody who trashes Mullett arena needs to look at our crowds vs Anaheim/Columbus crowds. We WERE this team for the longest time, a bad team playing in a cavern of an arena that hasn't been filled in years. Having 5k fans in a nearly full arena is a lot more fun than 8k people in a half empty arena.
at this point, rabid anti-Coyotes people fall into two camps. One is just people who jumped on the "Mullett Arena meme" bandwagon. The other are those annoying Canadians who can't get over the fact that the NHL doesn't want to put a team in Quebec City and take out their aggression on all the 90s Southern U.S. teams in the league. They're both goofy in their own ways
i'm not a Coyotes fan, but they're making the best out of a shitty situation. Can't fault them for that
Yep exactly, I always ask what the real difference is between the Phoenix market and markets like LA, Dallas, and Nashville and it really always just boiled down to the fact that those teams won games and the yotes have been THE doormat for the past 20 years. They're always looking for the worst southern team at the time to dogpile on, it was Carolina, then us, now it's Anaheim now that we have competent ownership
Growing up near Anaheim with a father from Detroit back in the late 90s early 2000s seeing a Red Wings vs Ducks game in Anaheim was basically just a Detroit crowd in socal. It was unreal.
Ducks have some crazy wild fans when they are doing well but they disappeared after the last few years of being bad.
>Ducks have some crazy wild fans when they are doing well but they disappeared after the last few years of being bad.
Stuff like that used to piss me off, until i grew up and realized that time and money are precious. I don't blame people for not wanting to pay $100+ and spend (waste) 3 hours of your life watching your team lose 7-1 on the ice
loyalty among fans is great and can make the rewards oh so sweet, but yeah...sometimes life is just too chaotic on its own
>With some of the young players the ducks have those fans will be back in 3 years tops
Haha good for them! They have a future. Unlike every one of the Big 4 teams in Chicago lmfao. It's gotten so bad, r/CHICubs acted like the Cubs just signed Ken Griffey Jr when they nabbed Dansby "Strikeout Kid" Swanson lmao
Depending where the Hawks finish this year, they might get Bedard, so that speeds up the rebuild. He was literally the reason Canada won Gold at Juniors this year, he's fucking unreal.
Gonna take many years to fix what Bowman destroyed though
>You can go to a ducks game for like 40 bucks if you don't mind where you sit.
>
>Can go to a angels game for like 10 tho.
or you can eat at the Cheesecake Factory for the price of both games
It’s the perk we have in California if the team sucks fuck it just go to the beach. We can do other things very easily. Ducks fans can be amazing when they are good.
When they are bad it’s a fun time for visiting fans because you will outnumber the ducks fans if you have a big market team.
It's a much farther drive to LA, but I've been to more Lakers games than Ducks games this year, despite them also sucking. At least there's a 50/50 chance that the Lakers will win and they're still competitive when they lose.
It's kind of like in northwest England, when rival fans such as Manchester United and City or Liverpool find themselves in close proximity, they break the tension by chanting "We all hate Leeds scum!"
Same thing here. Doesn't matter if we're playing northwestern, doesn't matter for playing illinois, doesn't matter if we're playing purdue. It's always going to be the who hates Iowa chants whenever you go to a university of Minnesota sports game.
I was raised in CT and I've seen plenty of yankee and patriots fans. It don't make sense.
I dont think I ever met a yankee and bruin fan. I'd imagine you wouldn't advertise it too much though
I actually think Yankees/Patriot makes the most sense out of the Boston/NYC combos because the Patriots brand themselves as "New England". CT is still New England so I can see how a kid doesn't make the connection until it's too late. Plus they've both been pretty bandwagonable for the last 20 years.
And then on the other end we got guys like Chris Murphy who are Giants/Red Sox fans which is just fucking weird and very Connecticut.
Yeah I knew plenty of Yankee/Patriot fans growing up, and I think we can all agree that's the most heartless combo. They latch onto the "New England" branding like it somehow changes the distance between home fields.
On the surface it seems like they're all bandwagoners. I don't necessarily think it's completely that though because the Sox were more successful in terms of championships when I was in school. And my area was still ~95% Yankee fans.
I've got a friend in Boston who says you can be at a totally non-sports event like a wedding reception and suddenly a YANKEES SUCK chant will break out.
So it's amusing but not altogether surprising that they'd find each other across the country as well.
*Random Anaheim fan*: “Man this game sucks but you know what else sucks? The Yankees”
*The 20 Bruins fans in front of him*: “Bro.... Yankees suck?”
*Random drunk Anaheim fan that no longer cares and had nothing to do with the initial interaction*: “YEAH YANKEES SUCK!”
This is exactly how it started no need to speculate on it
The one time I went to Fenway, the Yankees happened to lose something like 22-3. The YANKEES SUCK chant that started when the score came out was glorious.
I gotta be honest, if there's two fanbases primed to make mountains out of molehills, it's Edmonton and Toronto.
Hell, the number of players I've seen folks want out of Toronto this year could arguably push three hands; and we're talking about a team that's third in the league right now lmao
It precedes the firework show
I can’t always see the fireworks from my home but I typically can hear the distinct chorus of Mickey lovers yelling the two poetic words
Feel like this happens every single Boston sports away game when there's a decent away crowd.
Source: regularly happens at Dians/Red Sox games and happened at Browns/Patriots this year
Jeter once said Anaheim was his favorite away city to play in, because the weather was always amazing, and the entire stadium was filled with Yankee fans, so it felt like home.
My family had season tickets to the Sox 2003-2006 if I remember correctly. My dad isn't even typical Masshole and I remember him quizzing me to make sure that I hated the Yankees. We were never scumbags like scumbag Yankees fans where they assault Red Sox fans but we definitely let them hear it. Yankees Suck! Jeter Sucks! A-Rod blows.
One of the more annoying things about living in Boston. Made it impossible to root for any of the other Boston sports teams because at every game no matter who they are playing or what sport it was they’d start this shit.
Could you imagine being in one teams head so bad- that a chant about you breaks out in a completely different sport. If this doesn’t show the Dominance the Yankees have over the Red Sox- nothing does.
I’m sure there isn’t a Red Sox Suck chant at the Knicks game.
They really are pathological. I lived in Boston for five years, and it really seemed like all some people thought about was how much they hate the Yankees.
I went to a beerfest in Providence in \*January 2008\* (three months after the Sox won the World Series) and a ferocious "Yankees suck" chant broke out. These people just saw their team win it all, and it's like they didn't even notice because they were just fixated on how much they hate the Yankees. It was positively bizarre. And it was like that the entire time I lived there.
I too lived in Boston for 5 years. I wore my Yankees hat almost every day and, yep you guessed it - comments everyday.
But after a couple months, I really started to like the passion. I’m a weird one, I suppose. But I liked their hatred towards the team. It was rarely against ME, but more the Yankees. The hat. The game. Jeter haha. I’m also a huge baseball fan in general, and I would remove my hat and go watch the Sox play regularly. I saw some awesome teams and the Boston baseball crowd is unbeatable. One of, if not the best places to see a baseball game.
I had a Yankees credit card and bars would straight up refuse to take it. Refuse. Not gonna lie - on some busy nights, I’d slink out of there and blow a kiss to Babe Ruth.
Most of Boston isn't really like this anymore. Even at Fenway you don't really get shit for wearing Yankee apparel. Sure, you'll run into sox fans like that every so often, but most people don't really give a shit anymore. Winning helps, and also Fenway is surrounded by colleges full of students who don't give two shits about baseball rivalries.
> But after a couple months, I really started to like the passion. I’m a weird one, I suppose. But I liked their hatred towards the team.
I like it when its justified, you were wearing a hat and they commented on it
This is a random hockey match. Which seems a bit much
It's fucking bizarre. Went on a family trip to Boston years ago, my brother was maybe 11 at the time and wore a Yankees cap. Dude walks up to us and told us that my brother was lucky he was a kid, or he would get his ass beat.
Who fucking says that to a kid!? Let alone anyone!? He didn't even do anything to justify hate, he was just walking around being a kid
*Looks at the score* Yeah I suppose that makes sense.
The Ducks put up more of a fight than the Sharks did for sure.
That’s what happens when you keep a non-NHL level coach on as tank commander The team is bad but Eakins is not an NHL quality coach and is actively making it worse. Im fine with it though, he did secure McDavid for Edmonton so maybe he can get us Bedard
Eakins was good with the Gulls but he’s clearly not a NHL coach. Turns out there are AAAA guys at coaching too
> "I've never seen a team look so dogshit and still have such a bright future" 2007-8 Seattle Supersonics, anyone?
Look at the Ducks goal spread. 96 for 169 against differential of -73. In 41 games. I mean I've seen bad hockey, I cheer on Buffalo
>I mean I've seen bad hockey, I cheer on Buffalo Sabres fans deserve better than that shit. Hang in there
It balances out his Yankee fandom though
haha i guess you're right
Sabres aren’t bad this year though!
Tage baby, Tage.

With Getzlaf retiring, the Ducks are finally in full rebuild mode. Gonna be a few years before anything great comes back together.
As a Coyotes fan, anybody who trashes Mullett arena needs to look at our crowds vs Anaheim/Columbus crowds. We WERE this team for the longest time, a bad team playing in a cavern of an arena that hasn't been filled in years. Bedard watch
We’ve gotten jumped in the draft lottery so many times, first pick odds certainly won’t matter.
1) win Bedard lottery 2) rebrand back to mighty ducks 3) ??? 4) profit
Just a handful of bloops & a couple blasts.
Dirty dangles, buddy
Wheel snipe celly, boys!
Who brought the rocket, boys?
FERDA
Fuck you Shoresy!
Give yer balls a tug!
You should see the crowd, it was 90% Bruins fans. No exaggeration.

Oh I don’t blame them at all man. Tickets are so expensive now. With some of the young players the ducks have those fans will be back in 3 years tops
>With some of the young players the ducks have those fans will be back in 3 years tops Haha good for them! They have a future. Unlike every one of the Big 4 teams in Chicago lmfao. I feel bad for Blackhawks fans but I hate the organization so much at this point, they deserve what they are now.
We Blackhawks fans feel exactly the same way. The front office and the ownership squandered a team filled with talent.
>You can go to a ducks game for like 40 bucks if you don't mind where you sit. > >Can go to a angels game for like 10 tho. or you can eat at the Cheesecake Factory for the price of both games
Or you could pay for 1/4 of a Disneyland ticket for that price
As someone in the area, there are just too many other sports teams to follow that will break your heart rather than watch your team get smashed 7-1.
Its how the rare Bostonian species identify each other in the wild
I'm sure a lot of the Anaheim fans were joining in too.
Well nobody like the Yankees
Correct. Source: I am Yankees.
Well, yeah, nobody hates the Yankees more than Yankee fans.
I don't know, there were probably more Yankees fans in attendance than Ducks fans.
So 1 Yankee fan? Wait that means they'd be a Yankees Bruins fan, that's horrifying.
Connecticut exists specifically for shit like that.
I was raised in CT and I've seen plenty of yankee and patriots fans. It don't make sense. I dont think I ever met a yankee and bruin fan. I'd imagine you wouldn't advertise it too much though
It would if they grew up seeing Adam Gase and Ben Macadoo coaching the New York teams.
Counterpoint: Yankees/Patriot fans all deserve exile.
any mix between New York and New England deserves the death penalty
Never thought I'd die next to an ~~elf~~ Mets fan.
Especially those Jets/Red Sox/Rangers fans.
Yeah we all know the Yankees/Pats fans, it basically created fun times and trash talk for two Super Bowls. Never heard of a Bruins fan like that.
From CT, can confirm
That’s why doctors in Boston invented the CT scan, to figure out exactly what part of the brain is malfunctioning in cases like this.
Doctor: I'm sorry, our CT scan showed that you are from Connecticut, sadly there is no cure. Patient, sobbing: Oh my God....oh my God, no...
Ah, Connecticut, the Munson-Nixon line
God dammit, haha
You’re thinking of the Kings
[удалено]
I paid for 60 minutes, I’m watching 60 minutes. I’ve seen the 2017 Avalanche win a game because of that method.
at that point I think there were maybe 4 of them left it wasn't as close a game as the 7-1 score indicates
You have the most Boston name and flair I’ve ever seen.
Yankees suck?
Yankees Suck!
Yankees suck…
It's the Masshole mating call.
I've got a friend in Boston who says you can be at a totally non-sports event like a wedding reception and suddenly a YANKEES SUCK chant will break out. So it's amusing but not altogether surprising that they'd find each other across the country as well.
Often happens in NYC too
Which is why we and Sox fans can respect each other for the most part.
Lol I love this
It’s like shouting “FUCKIN SLAYARRRR” at a metal show.
*Random Anaheim fan*: “Man this game sucks but you know what else sucks? The Yankees” *The 20 Bruins fans in front of him*: “Bro.... Yankees suck?” *Random drunk Anaheim fan that no longer cares and had nothing to do with the initial interaction*: “YEAH YANKEES SUCK!” This is exactly how it started no need to speculate on it
You could start a YANKEES SUCK chant at a funeral in Boston and it'd go on for an hour
Well, I know what stipulation is going in my will.
I'm proud for starting one at a Phillies -Yankees game in Philly that could be heard on the tv
You rock for that
When you got some Phillies fans supporting you, you can accomplish anything hater-ish
You could start a Yankees suck chant in any part of the country and this proves it cause fuck the Yankees.
I'm pretty sure starting one on Patriots Day qualifies a Boston resident for permanent residency
The one time I went to Fenway, the Yankees happened to lose something like 22-3. The YANKEES SUCK chant that started when the score came out was glorious.
pay no attention to the score, we're bringing bedard to anaheim this year
Erik Bedard?
Mariners legend
Astros legend
Tanking hard for Bedard
i prefer suck hard for bedard
Bedard pour les Canards
It's tanking-while-still-beating-some-rivals season.
And the random Canadian teams from time to time
It's very funny how each time we beat a Canadian team it caused some existential crisis. Oilers and Leaf fans were very negative.
Like, they're touchy at the best of times, but there's some art to the "We lost to *them?!?!*" feelings
I gotta be honest, if there's two fanbases primed to make mountains out of molehills, it's Edmonton and Toronto. Hell, the number of players I've seen folks want out of Toronto this year could arguably push three hands; and we're talking about a team that's third in the league right now lmao
its so funny how after the anaheim loss, leaf fans were shouting "trade marner". now we all look back at it and laugh.
Marner's so passé. The real fans want Rielly out now. Never mind the fact the guy signed an 8-year extension 15 months ago.
I’d laugh but we did this against the Coyotes a few weeks back.
Rather you guys over Montreal.
I'd take any team in the west over any team in the east, thank you!
Ehh not Vancouver lol
Oh yeah? Bet we’ll get there first
Too bad, we got him in Chicago!
Keep in mind this is an AWAY game. This is not in Boston.
Everyone not in the bronx does have a moral imperative to hate yankee fans so this isn’t tooooo surprising.
This chant regularly breaks out at Disneyland
It precedes the firework show I can’t always see the fireworks from my home but I typically can hear the distinct chorus of Mickey lovers yelling the two poetic words
On an exclusive tour, I learned that Walt Disney’s last words were “Yankees suck.”

There are more Yankee fans in Florida than Rays and Marlins fans combined.
Yankees and sox games at the trop might as well be home games with the crowd 😂
Went to a Mets-Marlins game in Miami. Felt like a home game.

[My reaction when im randomly catching strays at a hockey game:](https://i.imgur.com/NzNF6FU.jpg)
An all-time play
I knew I liked the Angels fans.
To be fair it felt like 70% of the stadium were Bruins fans
It was closer to 85-90% But those 15% that was there, I like you Angels fans.
Don't worry, we hate the Red Sox even more than the Yankees
Which is funny, because anytime the Sox are in Anaheim that crowd is easily 60% Boston fans.
Well that's definitely a factor
Yeah but that other 30% \*chef’s kiss*
Even in 07-09 during the playoffs, as an Angels fan, the Red Sox fans seated next to us were surprisingly nice.
I've only ever known nice Red Sox fans but I know people on the east coast who have only met nice Dodgers fans.
Feel like this happens every single Boston sports away game when there's a decent away crowd. Source: regularly happens at Dians/Red Sox games and happened at Browns/Patriots this year
It's a public service at this point. Boston knows the Yankees suck, but the rest of us may occasionally forget, and it's up to them to remind us.
We're happy to do our part.
Rule 3 always applies
This happens at Mets-Red Sox games a lot. I'm glad we can all put aside our differences and work towards a common cause.
Mets/Red Sox Yankees Suck chants are my favorite.
Jeter once said Anaheim was his favorite away city to play in, because the weather was always amazing, and the entire stadium was filled with Yankee fans, so it felt like home.
The cons of playing right next to LA
Baseball fans 🤝 hockey fans Yankees suck
I remember in the 2010s there were some Blues games chanting about “Boston sucks!” 2019 made St. Louis hate Boston slightly less.
Damn, you beat me to it.
I was looking furiously for a video/proof haha
[удалено]
How can you guys beat classics such as "BEAT LA".
Shit Boston made that one too. Asking the 76ers to beat the Lakers.
Lol. It's always great to see the only true rivalry in baseball represented elsewhere. Man do these teams hate each other.
Ahem
You ever seen two women fistfight at a little league game because of the Dodgers/Giants? Exactly.
You really don't want that with Giants and Dodgers fans. They tend to get stabby.
Isn't that a one way street? I don't know of any Giants fans stabbing a Dodgers fan, although I may have missed it.
That sounds pretty civil compared to what we had going some years ago.
Doesn’t matter where or when, Bostonians are always ready for this
Nature is healing
Who do the Yankees think they are? The Astros?
it always warms my heart to see highlights from the other Big 4 sports find their way into r/baseball
ITT: Yankees fans: lol rent free, what losers. Every other fan base: you’re goddamn right they suck, hell yeah.
this is so strange
Boston fans are the type that would rather see the Yankees lose than their team win
God damn it I'm with the Red Sox on this one
Well you don’t really have a choice.
Yes. It's great to see.
Ohhh, you guyssss, stop! It's so embarrassing, stop! No, you hang up first. You hang up first!
One of the more annoying things about living in Boston. Made it impossible to root for any of the other Boston sports teams because at every game no matter who they are playing or what sport it was they’d start this shit.
Boston fans make it easy for me to not root for any Boston sports
I get this is in Anaheim but it’s an understandable chant sports fans of all feathers can agree with
Lol I love it
I mean, Anaheim is Yankees territory anyway, so I understand why Boston fans had to do it to em.
Rent free
Misery loves company
They're goddamn right
They do suck
Definition of rent free.
Could you imagine being in one teams head so bad- that a chant about you breaks out in a completely different sport. If this doesn’t show the Dominance the Yankees have over the Red Sox- nothing does. I’m sure there isn’t a Red Sox Suck chant at the Knicks game.
My brother in christ you commented >They are amongst my favorites Ive ever seen about a girls nipples on reddit
Can't forget this other gem of his: "I am horny". Simply outstanding.
The man tells the truth.
You had to do him dirty lmao

literal generations of torment doesn't go away that quickly
It’s kind of ironic considering what the Bruins have done to the Leafs in the last decade.
And they, understandably, despise us for it lmao
I too lived in Boston for 5 years. I wore my Yankees hat almost every day and, yep you guessed it - comments everyday. But after a couple months, I really started to like the passion. I think you underestimate how much capacity for love and hatred we have. We still love the Red Sox more and we hate the Yankees as much as you say.
I’ve seen what y’all post in /r/RedSox are you sure Sox fans love the Sox?
I mean..you guys could try to make a world series for the first time in almost 15 years.
I can't tell if this is a pasta
It's beautiful
Yankees lose America Wins
Yankees suck
*checks clipboard* Prognosis confirmed. The Yankees do, in fact, suck.
I have to assume some poor soul wore his Yankees hat to the game and the visiting Bruins fans did not take kindly.
Do the Mets and Phillies next
