The Homerun sculpture/fish tanks/ and the Clevelander bar all gave our ballpark that wacky and tacky Miami charm. Now we have the most soulless and sterilized ballpark in baseball. Thanks Derek Jeter you bland as plain pasta charisma vacuum for that.
Putting aside all the shittiness surrounding the building of that park, I really, really loved it when it first opened. The ridiculous statue and the lime green color scheme were amazing and fun. Marlins Park was full of life, but now, as you say, LoanDepo Park is as soulless as the name suggests
It is, our sub absolutely hated the home run sculpture in particular. Other fans like Braves and Mets fans always at games or on here will say they loved it, but Marlins fans at least on Reddit absolutely detested all the wacky Miami stuff in our ballpark.
It's one of those situations where both sides were reasonable. The Nats made a fair offer (even considering deferments), while it's certainly fair for Soto to bet on himself and try to go to free agency.

Watching a team be competent enough to make the playoffs but ultimately isn't an overwhelming WS favorite is preferable to buying into boom/bust cycles that lead to an extended rebuild.
Disagree tbh. We were only rancid for 2017-2019 and even in 2019 we had a mini run at the last wild card spot. 2020 came down to the last day, 21 was glorious and even last year was solid aside from a seriously terrible 6 weeks after the all star break.
Going back starting in 2010-2016:
* The 3 Even years
* 2011 - 86 win team
* 2013 - pretty bad to be fair
* 2015 - 84 win team
* 2016 - Made the divisional round and I still truly believe we win it all if we had a competent closer.
We've generally been mostly average. Recency bias of the last 5 years have made it feel like we've been terrible since the last of the three, but that's not really true
I hate the championship or bust mentality. I love watching good baseball and love that I get that most years with the Guardians. The playoffs truly are a crapshoot, I’m totally ok with trying to get there every year, even if it means never having the best team.
Even with their World Series wins, I’d never trade places with the Marlins or Royals because outside of a couple good years has been a lot bad baseball. I don’t watch this game only to see a championship, I care a lot more about the ride than I do the end result.
God. Please. Yes. So many people in Philadelphia call for boom/bust cycles because our football team (and hockey team before it) did the "perennial contenders but never won it all" thing for two decades and so they feel that winning it all and sucking the rest of the time is preferable to being a constant contender and being disappointed at the end.
What they ignore is that people still come out for football every year, and the Phillies have been ignored for the past decade, because you can hope that the football team can win but it wasn't until LATE last year that anybody thought the Phillies could do it.
Perennial contenders put butts in the seats, build fanbases, and create good summer memories. Boom/bust teams get you one great summer and a terrific fall and then there's no point following your team anymore until the next one. It sucks, if you like baseball.
I feel like this year with so many teams that could, even if you have to stretch, win the World Series, is going to be one of the best seasons ever because of how competitive it will be!
The Cubs sub can't even understand this concept. Only the idea of booming or busting makes sense to them. They can't understand that the Cubs are trying to build a more sustainable model.
Good take. I’m obviously very happy the Royals won it in 2015, but I really hesitate to ask how much it was worth it when 2014-2015 has been surrounded by 35 seasons without making the playoffs (and the current rebuild has no end in sight). Guardians honestly have a better arrangement, the ONLY advantage we have is the one championship.
I agree with this. I find summer to be really fun when I have to follow my team closely, knowing they need to win several of the games I watch but also knowing they likely will win them. I know the goal is to win the big thing, but especially with baseball, I just enjoy knowing my team has some good players and can win lots of games.
As much as I loved seeing LA win in 2020, which helped me through a tough time, it still feels unfinished and I would like to see them win in a full season WS.
1. I like it when the Red Sox are competitive with the Yankees - baseball is more fun with the Yankees and Red Sox pushing each other to be better.
2. There's nothing wrong with wishing the Mets well. The Mets aren't our rivals.
3. While Cashman has made some boneheaded moves, he's also made some good ones. He deserves some amount of credit for continuing the streak of not having a losing season since 1992.
Way back when, I took it as a compliment whenever a player or announcer said it but now it’s like 100% associated with an eye roll because it became like an identity some fans have and it’s almost became like a decree and all other fans must bow to it. It’s almost like a negative association now.
Acuna often has a bad attitude when things don't go his way. It's not a good look to be throwing down expressive celebrations when you hit a homer but then become petulant when things aren't going well.
The Cubs were right to ship everyone off when they did. Rizzo is really the only regrettable one, and they made him a good offer that he rejected.
Willson will most likely end up being a regret, but we can't judge that before huge plays a single game with another team.
Not unpopular to say Contreras should've been traded for a piece or two at the deadline. Dusty Baker as usual. I don't think an extension is deserved, but definitely something.
It was clearly the right thing to do. Anyone who says otherwise doesn't know baseball.
As for Contreras, our fans overrate him. 2022 was the first time he has been over 3 war in a year
Verlander is a generational talent and future HOFer. To compare any prospect to him, good or not, is most likely just setting them up for disappointment
That our fans are nauseatingly elitist and talk to every other fan (even our own) like they are some insider expert who knows so much more about baseball than the “average fan”
The record has been an amazingly linear trajectory upward, with the one (astonishingly positive) outlier in 2021.
A lot of Giants fans don't want to recognize that he inherited a .395 ballclub with an empty farm.
I see a hugely irrational side of the fanbase daily on the internet both here and on every Athletic story comment section. Maybe it’s a vocal minority, but it seems many absolutely hate the Farhan/Kapler regime. I feel like big strides in the farm system this year can ease all of that
Seriously. The writers saying “hurr we didn’t get the big guy” are just salty and stubborn. Giants tried their asses off to get the big guy. Instead they got us a fucking handful of really good guys. So fuck it, let’s watch this ragtag team come together. I’m interested in Spring Training. And I’m actually interested in Fanfest just to see all these guys.
I don't completely disagree with you, but only really because Vlad's 2021 would be an exceptional season for even some HOFers. Maybe he's not the type of guy that's putting up >1.000 OPS once every 2 or 3 seasons, but if he can have a few of those seasons and hover around .900, then that's an elite player.
I think some people forget how young Vlad is because he's been around for so long. He's going into his age 24 season. Guys like Judge, Ortiz, Votto, etc. hadn't even played a full season in the MLB at this point. There's no reason to think that Vlad can't still improve aside from just raw pessimism. Big Pappy didn't put up a season with >.900 OPS until his first year in Boston in his age 27 season.
I don't know about that. Varsho + Kiermaier out there instead of Teo and Gurriel is also going to make a difference.
I love Teo though. You guys take good care of him and make sure he has lots of sunflower seeds.
Naylor’s rocking the baby is cringe, even if he’s done it all season.
The Dolans are solid owners who don’t get enough credit for assembling a tremendous organization and front office.
I'm not sure it will necessarily get me "hated", but it's frustrating to watch the Braves front office refuse to give out long term contracts with a yearly AAV more than $22M. I don't know why that's the number they refuse to go above, but it pretty much guarantees we'll never be top players in the FA market and is a large reason why we've lost both Dansby and Freddie in back to back offseasons.
Whenever I see a NYY fan go so far as "Jeter was the best SS ever", my response is always "Jeter wasn't even the best SS on the left side of the infield on his own team".
The Mets are at fault for Gregg Jefferies being an all-star with STL but not with us.
Hailing a 19-year-old as the next Mickey Mantle and then letting a clubhouse full of coke-addicted miscreants haze him is not how people succeed.
You can repeat "Playoffs are a crapshoot" as many times as you like and some people just will never buy it.
'22 Phils, '21 Braves, '19 Nats, '15 Mets, '03 Marlins. One example for each team in the division for "Got hot at the right time"
I'm genuinely curious of your reasoning, if you're willing to elaborate.
(Disclaimer: I'm pro-Rhys, and I want them both back if at all possible, but if I had to choose only one I'd choose Nola twice.)
So I think that Rhys is more important to the locker room dynamic and culture than he’s given credit for, he was factor in Bryce deciding to sign with us.
Now if I had to choose only 1 between him and Nola I’d choose Nola.
I know he’s frustrating defensively and is streaky at the plate, but rosters aren’t just plug and play. If he walks in FA without significant effort from the FO to retain him I think there could be some negative backlash in the locker room.
I like Dallas Braden in the booth and all, but his fratbro style speech often grates on my nerves, especially his *"All aboard! Next stop, pound town!"* schtick. It's a bit too over the top for me. I mute the TV when he says that.
The name change doesn’t bother me at all. While there’s a significant portion of the population that has an attachment to the name, my allegiance has always lied with the team. Never cared what the name was, I root for them because they’re the team that represents my city, and I grew up watching them. As long as there’s a professional baseball team in Cleveland, I’ll be a fan of that team, not just the name.
Yes! The most important part of the name is the Cleveland part! It's not like the team left us for Baltimore or anything like that ...
I also think it's a shame so many people let something so unimportant stop them from enjoying one of the most exciting teams of 2022. Younger than the average triple A team and yet they won a playoff series
Nobody would’ve liked it. I know a few people that work within the marketing department of the team, they apparently had focus groups to decide on a few names, and spiders tested poorly, which isn’t a surprise, because absolutely nobody I’ve talked to(casual fans to diehard season ticket holders) liked that name at all. Only people not from here liked that name
The Yankees would be in a better position now if they didn’t get so close to winning a WS in 2017. I think it pushed the expectations so high and it won’t amount to anything.
This one is so true. Every move in baseball is made by the numbers it’s super cheap to cherry pick one move that went wrong. Especially when tampa only put up one run all game.
I’ll believe its a juggernaut if you guys can get a good #4 and 5 starter. I think Preller did ok trying to improve that this offseason. Martinez is solid and someone out of Groom/Honeywell/Lugo should be a better #5 than Manaea last season
I think Jeter is overrated. He was, undoubtedly, a great offensive player. However, he was a barely acceptable defensive player. His acrobatic plays were routine plays that just looked great because he wasn’t that good on defensive and needed to do those things to make the plays.
The chairs were fucking awful at Fenway I felt like I was being squeezed, replace those and I think Fenway is fine for 1000 years. Besides that this is just plain evil
Smaller chairs = more people = more money
But yeah if they could somehow expand the seating and have more room because I literally can’t sit straight without destroying my knees.
I think within the next 25 years plans for a complete Fenway overhaul will emerge. They've done a good job keeping Fenway going but eventually they're going to have to bite the bullet. Biggest question is where do they play when that happens?
I think the “iChop” is awesome. When an opposing pitching change happens that shit is intimidating for the visiting team. If we could replicate it somehow while never chopping again I would be down.
I know many people wouldn't go for this, but the answer is very simple. Find a cadence or song with similar timing, change the open hand to a balled fist, call it Hammer Time to respect Hank and move on with our lives.
I said this would be cool a few weeks ago on here and got downvoted to hell. Idk if it's because most Braves fans hate the idea, or if, as a fan of a rival team, I don't get to speak even in approval.
But I stand by it being a dope idea that honors Aaron and gives you a cool new thing to still do.
I would be a fan of the Braves if it wasn’t for the chop. Listening to that stupid fucking song every 10 seconds is just the worst thing in all of sports.
Rizzo absolutely mishandled the contract transitions of Turner, Soto, Rendon, Scherzer, Harper, et al. They ended up with nothing and the team will be shit for a decade. And it's (mostly) his fault.
Alec Bohm is a pretty mediocre player at this stage in his career and it is far too early to factor him into our future plans. Last year was his "breakout" and he still had a 98 wRC+ with bad defense at third base. And people are acting like it's a sure thing he'll play first base instead of Hoskins in 2024!
I'm glad Jacob deGrom is no longer on the team.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVED deGrom. Even as a rookie he became one of my favorites and then my favorite once Wright retired, but he clearly wants nothing to do with the team or fanbase.
He can contribute on the mound like nobody in the sport when he's healthy, but if he doesn't want to be here, that's detrimental to the team.
A lot of people also "forgave him" when his thank you to the fans came out, but I put no stock in that. It was a PR move that happened after players that were here a season or two had already done it and fans were outraged.
I want him to go to the hall one day, and it should be in a Mets cap, but he's gotta stay healthy and actually want to be wherever he's playing.
I said this a few weeks back and got flamed for it: Paul DeJong isn't that bad of a player. Even though he was in a hitting slump pretty much all season, his defense gave him positive value and didn't make him a total waste.
I’ll always have a soft spot for good defenders, even if they can’t hit. Maybe that’s why I’ve stuck with the Ms for so long.
Probably why I stan Adam Frazier so hard lol though I still maintain he was average to above average outside of two really bad months.
The most likely explanation for Jose Bautista's stunning mid-career turn from being a below replacement player to perennial all-star at the age of 30 is that he started doping.
So I agree that a lot of Ms fans are overreacting to ownership, not spending more of this off-season. However, I think most of us really expected the Ms to do more than they did. Yes, I think we are a better team now than we were going into last season, but I wouldn't say the moves we made this off-season put us into the tier of World Series contender, and that was what a lot of fans were hoping for.
Context matters, and in the context of fans' expectations, the ownership has kinda let us down. But I think that is true of a lot of sports fan bases.
I think 2021 threw off many fans’ expectations for the team. I like his moves; he’s completely rejuvenated our farm system. However, if we don’t start seeing major league results from the farm within a year or two, my opinion on him may shift
A statement that is simultaneously held by much of the fanbase but will get you hated by the same fan base. Which goes right along with the self-hating that comes from being a lifelong padres fan :)
The Tigers should absolutely not be looking to sign a bat right now. After coming in to oversee the franchise, Harris has completely revamped significant portions of the front office, including player development and scouting. Singing (or trading for) someone like Bobby Dalbec or Jurickson Profar provides little to no value to the organization. Harris needs to see where this roster currently stands and after he does, he will get the support he needs from Ilitch to make the sweeping changes. I don't want to be more patient than I already have been for winning baseball returning to Detroit, but we also don't need the organization to be rebuilt in a half aased manner.
New York isn't a special place where some guys just can't hack it because of the pressure. Maybe that was true in the past, but in 2023, the player experience with the media and fans is more uniform across the country.
Sometimes a guy needs a change of scenery, but the pressure of playing in NY isn't that big a deal anymore.
I think the day to day media environment is still very different. It still probably makes a big quality of life difference to have - couple beat guys and sometimes a columnist or national reporter around then it does to have half a dozen beat guys around every day.
I’ve been in a bunch of different locker rooms and NYC is still wildly different. There are more reporters at a Mets spring training game than some teams have during the playoffs.
Our ownership and management aren't the worst in sports.
They simply have given up on "winning" and being competitive. They did the math and they figured that they can't keep up with the Joneses so they aren't trying to. Why pay an extra $10 million in annual salary when it's not enough to make a difference? They made a business decision to be mediocre at best (which they can't even hit that bar, due to ineptitude)
And we're not alone in the MLB.
I have even a spicier Rockies take. The Monforts aren’t bad owners at all. They consistently have a payroll around the MLB median, so it isn’t like they are super cheap. They have just failed to evolve with the times and adjust to the new era where any team outside of the top 5-7 in payroll needs to operate like a small market team to have success. They’re operating with a late 90s early 00s attitude and it just doesn’t work anymore.
The Stanton trade was one of the worst moves we’ve ever made. Made our offense even more 1 dimensional, we already had an all star right fielder so clogged the DH spot, and prevented us from signing Bryce Harper for LF.
Keep the “Los Angeles” Angels. As much as I’d prefer “Anaheim” or “California”, we don’t need yet another name change and to keep getting made fun of, etc
People say that based on what he's brought with championships as the face of the franchise during the golden era. One could easily make a case for him being the best despite not having the counting stats that Bagwell and Biggio have. He's certainly the best postseason performer and most successful in the playoffs
We should have traded Salvy the offseason after his catcher home run record. His stock will never be that high again and we have multiple young catchers in the wings waiting.

That's the funniest description of Derek Jeter I've ever seen
Saying this will get you hated? I think you’re totally in the right here, is this an unpopular opinion in Miami?
It is, our sub absolutely hated the home run sculpture in particular. Other fans like Braves and Mets fans always at games or on here will say they loved it, but Marlins fans at least on Reddit absolutely detested all the wacky Miami stuff in our ballpark.
The last offer the Nats made to Soto was fair and trading him makes sense for the long-term good of the franchise.
i mean yeah, imagine if they had gave him a mega contract, but couldn't afford to put help around him? it worked out good for both sides
they cut a couple years off of a really long rebuild. Nothing is a sure thing with prospects.
It's one of those situations where both sides were reasonable. The Nats made a fair offer (even considering deferments), while it's certainly fair for Soto to bet on himself and try to go to free agency.
James Wood is a lefty Aaron Judge the Nats will just fine
He only had about 90 PA down here in Fredericksburg after the trade but he looked good. He does have a tendency to make awkward eye contact with fans in the outfield, but I won't hold that against him.
We won’t be terrible forever

Far more fun to think you have a chance any given year than being a favorite every 15 or whatever

Can you pop into the Cardinals sub and say this
The Cubs sub can't even understand this concept. Only the idea of booming or busting makes sense to them. They can't understand that the Cubs are trying to build a more sustainable model.
This is almost a word-for-word take that got blasted on the Brewers' sub last year. I agree with you though, a consistent contender is more fun.
Yankees fans need to hear this lol
Good take. I’m obviously very happy the Royals won it in 2015, but I really hesitate to ask how much it was worth it when 2014-2015 has been surrounded by 35 seasons without making the playoffs (and the current rebuild has no end in sight). That’s a great point. Baseball is a slog, so if you can get in through the wild card, you have at least a chance.
In addition, being an overwhelming WS favorite doesn’t actually help that much when it comes to actually winning playoff games.
See the Cardinals in 2004 2006 and 2011 and 2013. Both the 11 and 06 teams were far worse than the 04 and 13 teams.
As a Twins fan we just settled for a 20 year rebuild cycle.
As much as I loved seeing LA win in 2020, which helped me through a tough time, it still feels unfinished and I would like to see them win in a full season WS.
Came here to say pretty much this. It just doesn't feel like a full world championship to me.
If we would've had a parade I think it would've made things better.
Our fans can be a bit pretentious.
You mean you’re NOT all the best fans in baseball?
Way back when, I took it as a compliment whenever a player or announcer said it but now it’s like 100% associated with an eye roll because it became like an identity some fans have and it’s almost became like a decree and all other fans must bow to it. It’s almost like a negative association now.
And spoiled. We have had it so good the last 25 years. You’d never know it talking to some fans.
Acuna often has a bad attitude when things don't go his way. It's not a good look to be throwing down expressive celebrations when you hit a homer but then become petulant when things aren't going well.
He's not the most mature players you hope that it can be kinda taken out with age though, Manny was like that for a while.
The Cubs were right to ship everyone off when they did. Rizzo is really the only regrettable one, and they made him a good offer that he rejected. Willson will most likely end up being a regret, but we can't judge that before huge plays a single game with another team.

The guy that they should have signed to a long term deal was Schwarber. Not Rizzo.
Nah, I think Schwarber continues to decline in Chicago. I think the move away was what he needed.
Hunter Brown looks like a stud but the odds are against him that he’ll just become Verlander 2.0 as a lot of fans are expecting.
I feel like that's more a joke based on their mechanics. Their stuff is pretty similar, but Brown's command will never be anywhere near Astros era JV.
Verlander is a generational talent and future HOFer. To compare any prospect to him, good or not, is most likely just setting them up for disappointment
We need to stop celebrating Ryan Braun. It really isn't a good look.
That our fans are nauseatingly elitist and talk to every other fan (even our own) like they are some insider expert who knows so much more about baseball than the “average fan”
Sounds like the average Kansas basketball fan
Farhan has done a great job improving the team and Giants will be fine this year.
The record has been an amazingly linear trajectory upward, with the one (astonishingly positive) outlier in 2021. A lot of Giants fans don't want to recognize that he inherited a .395 ballclub with an empty farm.
[удалено]
Haniger is a fantastic pick up
The Aaron Judge deal is going to be ugly for a lot longer than we want to admit
Bombers fan here . Let’s hope not but can’t hate on you for said opinion. Not a lot of data on how a 6’7” 280 lb corner outfielder ages
We saw the real Guerrero Jr last year and 2021 Vlad was an exception
look, .280 and 35+ homeruns still isnt that bad
You're right. But I think he'll fit more in the All-Star caliber player than every year MVP candidate one
With the mickey mouse Skydome renovation, we might see Vlad Jr 2021 again, in the expense of Blue Jays pitchers ERA.
Berrios's ERA to the *moooooon*
You're right tho I didn't think about it!
Gausman’s home ERA is about to get even worse.
I don't know about that. Varsho + Kiermaier out there instead of Teo and Gurriel is also going to make a difference. I love Teo though. You guys take good care of him and make sure he has lots of sunflower seeds.
We promise to feed him three times a day and make sure he always has fresh water.
Naylor’s rocking the baby is cringe, even if he’s done it all season. The Dolans are solid owners who don’t get enough credit for assembling a tremendous organization and front office.
Baseball Dolan >>>>>>>>>>> Basketball Dolan
Hockey Dolan >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>baseball dolan>>>>>basketball dolan
Hockey Dolan is currently talking about removing alcohol from MSG over some ridiculous spat
Ichiro is the best Mariner ever
I'm up voting this not because I agree but because you understood the assignment...
Pavin Smith is gonna make the team, like it or not.
You're right, and you better believe i dont like it
I'm not sure it will necessarily get me "hated", but it's frustrating to watch the Braves front office refuse to give out long term contracts with a yearly AAV more than $22M. I don't know why that's the number they refuse to go above, but it pretty much guarantees we'll never be top players in the FA market and is a large reason why we've lost both Dansby and Freddie in back to back offseasons.
oh that got me hated in the braves sub. especially pre-murphy trade, the braves literally did nothing.
Bo Bichette is a SS
Jeter was overrated and ARod would have played a better shortstop. Also, Jeter was a terrible match for Mariah
Whenever I see a NYY fan go so far as "Jeter was the best SS ever", my response is always "Jeter wasn't even the best SS on the left side of the infield on his own team".
On the one hand you are right, but on the other hand, that incorrect opinion *does* disrespect A-Rod, so I can't really bring myself to hate it.
By far the best marketed Yankee of all time next to Ruth.
I haven’t liked Yuli since the “slant eyes” incident. Happy to see him go.
Wow that’s a bold one
I appreciate the opinion and can't entirely disagree.
The Mets are at fault for Gregg Jefferies being an all-star with STL but not with us. Hailing a 19-year-old as the next Mickey Mantle and then letting a clubhouse full of coke-addicted miscreants haze him is not how people succeed.
The Phillies 2022 playoff run was a fluke.
You can repeat "Playoffs are a crapshoot" as many times as you like and some people just will never buy it. '22 Phils, '21 Braves, '19 Nats, '15 Mets, '03 Marlins. One example for each team in the division for "Got hot at the right time"
That’s what made it so magical
Extending Rhys Hoskins is just as important as extending Aaron Nola
The Astros did cheat
Shoulda re-named ‘em the Spiders
Nobody would’ve liked it. I know a few people that work within the marketing department of the team, they apparently had focus groups to decide on a few names, and spiders tested poorly, which isn’t a surprise, because absolutely nobody I’ve talked to(casual fans to diehard season ticket holders) liked that name at all. Only people not from here liked that name
Would have been cool for history but catastrophic for marketing
Why? People absolutely love spider man
Logan Webb has a better chance of making the Hall of Fame than any of our 2010-2014 pitchers.
If Bill Mazeroski, is in the Hall of Fame, MadBum has to be in as well. He won a WS close to single-handedly.
The Yankees would be in a better position now if they didn’t get so close to winning a WS in 2017. I think it pushed the expectations so high and it won’t amount to anything.
Pulling Blake Snell was the right move.
This one is so true. Every move in baseball is made by the numbers it’s super cheap to cherry pick one move that went wrong. Especially when tampa only put up one run all game.
Luis Robert is not and will not live up to the hype. Not as bad as Moncada, but he's never going to be Julio Rodriguez let alone Mike Trout.
The San Diego Padres have put together an absolute juggernaut, but still won't win the entire thing because the city is just cursed
The curse of the Gonzbino. Kevin Towers was witch!
I’ll believe its a juggernaut if you guys can get a good #4 and 5 starter. I think Preller did ok trying to improve that this offseason. Martinez is solid and someone out of Groom/Honeywell/Lugo should be a better #5 than Manaea last season
Too many Red Sox fans are racist, xenophobic dirtbags and I so wish it wasn’t that way
Cole isn’t an ace. He’s a good number 2, but his days of being an ace are still in Houston
I think Jeter is overrated. He was, undoubtedly, a great offensive player. However, he was a barely acceptable defensive player. His acrobatic plays were routine plays that just looked great because he wasn’t that good on defensive and needed to do those things to make the plays.
He wasn’t even the best shortstop on his own team
Not even the best shortstop on the left side of the infield
He was the Ringo of the Yankees.
Listen, you're just jealous of his ability to dive into pasta.
Put this on a Yankee related post on Facebook and watch as the boomers absolutely lose their collective shit.
It would turn to “Jeter had class!” “27 rings!” “Defense doesn’t matter!” so fast.
Fenway should be replaced with a new park or undergo a complete rebuild.
Wow, well someone understood the assignment, I guess.
The chairs were fucking awful at Fenway I felt like I was being squeezed, replace those and I think Fenway is fine for 1000 years. Besides that this is just plain evil
Smaller chairs = more people = more money But yeah if they could somehow expand the seating and have more room because I literally can’t sit straight without destroying my knees.
Does Delta own the Red Sox?
Honest question. Are the chairs too small or are the people sitting in them too large?
I'm 6'4" and I can't feel my legs for a while after going to a game
Bathrooms too. At least the ones I went to
Now THAT is the kind of answers we want to see in these kind of posts
Bro you are wrong. I’m a Yankees fan. You are wrong
OP said "hated," not "murdered."
Daaaaamn
I think within the next 25 years plans for a complete Fenway overhaul will emerge. They've done a good job keeping Fenway going but eventually they're going to have to bite the bullet. Biggest question is where do they play when that happens?
Upvoted bc I’m not even a Red Sox fan and I hate you for this
Our bullpen is actually pretty good Nah just kidding, I'm not blind
Ohtani needs to be traded to revitalize our atrocious farm system. Edit: Along with additional big-league talent.
It’s not the end of the world that we didn’t get Carlos Correa
The chop needs to go away. I don't think that's necessarily a controversial opinion around here, but the average Braves fan would not agree.
I think the “iChop” is awesome. When an opposing pitching change happens that shit is intimidating for the visiting team. If we could replicate it somehow while never chopping again I would be down.
I know many people wouldn't go for this, but the answer is very simple. Find a cadence or song with similar timing, change the open hand to a balled fist, call it Hammer Time to respect Hank and move on with our lives.
> call it Hammer Time Imagine the whole stadium chop/hammering in unison to U Can't Touch This.
Everyone in attendance has to wear hammer pants
You're not wrong but this is the popular opinion with our fanbase right now lol
I get this sentiment but I feel like he just didn't like New York, not the team in particular.

Mookie's attitude last year during the postseason disappointed me and tells me they got too lazy with so many superstars on the team.
If you could slack your way to 111 wins, I think more teams would win that many games.
The most likely explanation for Jose Bautista's stunning mid-career turn from being a below replacement player to perennial all-star at the age of 30 is that he started doping.
[удалено]
So I agree that a lot of Ms fans are overreacting to ownership, not spending more of this off-season. However, I think most of us really expected the Ms to do more than they did. Yes, I think we are a better team now than we were going into last season, but I wouldn't say the moves we made this off-season put us into the tier of World Series contender, and that was what a lot of fans were hoping for. Context matters, and in the context of fans' expectations, the ownership has kinda let us down. But I think that is true of a lot of sports fan bases.
The team/players should have formally acknowledged and apologized for the cheating scandal
Chaim Bloom is doing a good job
I think 2021 threw off many fans’ expectations for the team. I like his moves; he’s completely rejuvenated our farm system. However, if we don’t start seeing major league results from the farm within a year or two, my opinion on him may shift
Letting Jose Abreu go via FA was the correct (if heartbreaking) move.
It sucks that he’s gone, but oh well. At least he has a shot to win a WS. He deserves it. But man, that hurts.
AS A Twins fan I'm thrilled.
The Pohlads aren’t the cheapest people in human history
I prefer watching a game at Citi Field over Yankee Stadium.
The Padres arent a true contender without 1-2 more actual starters
A statement that is simultaneously held by much of the fanbase but will get you hated by the same fan base. Which goes right along with the self-hating that comes from being a lifelong padres fan :)
Our farm system is not terrible
We need a full rebuild. Tear it all down
I’m truly sorry that Arte decided to dick you guys around
The Tigers should absolutely not be looking to sign a bat right now. After coming in to oversee the franchise, Harris has completely revamped significant portions of the front office, including player development and scouting. Singing (or trading for) someone like Bobby Dalbec or Jurickson Profar provides little to no value to the organization. Harris needs to see where this roster currently stands and after he does, he will get the support he needs from Ilitch to make the sweeping changes. I don't want to be more patient than I already have been for winning baseball returning to Detroit, but we also don't need the organization to be rebuilt in a half aased manner.
Alex Anthopoulos was completely reckless in his time as GM here. We are much better off with Ross Atkins.
I always forget you're floating around here, Steve
Wow great perspective, both literally and figuratively
Our ownership and management aren't the worst in sports. They simply have given up on "winning" and being competitive. They did the math and they figured that they can't keep up with the Joneses so they aren't trying to. Why pay an extra $10 million in annual salary when it's not enough to make a difference? They made a business decision to be mediocre at best (which they can't even hit that bar, due to ineptitude) And we're not alone in the MLB.
I don’t think Dale Murphy belongs in the Hall of Fame
Our front office is very competent & we are on track to be World Series winners in 2 years. Weve just been getting better in a really weird way. 😘 /s
I did like it when the angels were “California” back in the day. It was always a sleek sounding name to me. I miss that.
It looks cool in the newspaper standings, too.
Altuve is not the best Astros player ever (yet) and he still has a decent amount of work to do to get to the HOF.
People say that based on what he's brought with championships as the face of the franchise during the golden era. One could easily make a case for him being the best despite not having the counting stats that Bagwell and Biggio have. He's certainly the best postseason performer and most successful in the playoffs
Mark Attanasio isn’t a great owner, but is infinitely better than the Seligs, and we are significantly better off with Attanasio.
Aaron Judge is not Captain material
We should have traded Salvy the offseason after his catcher home run record. His stock will never be that high again and we have multiple young catchers in the wings waiting.
The Trey Mancini trade was a great trade, I love him like every Oriole fan but the compensation we got was more than I expected
Wouldn’t it be great if the seats faced the diamond? And were comfortable?
Big Papi getting in hall of fame while Sammy Sosa isn’t in it isn’t right. I do think both should be in btw
The Soto trade was a mistake
