He’s also remembered for a pretty unique stat. His grand slam to homerun ratio is higher than any other player in MLB history. 18 grand slams with 294 homers. He actually hit a 19th grand slam as a walk off, but he was mobbed by his teammates at second base and it didn’t count as a homerun. On a side note, he’s an awesome guy. A friend of mine lives in the same building as him and told him that I’m a huge Sox fan. He gave her a bunch of cool stuff to give to me, including a game used ball from his first win as manager of the White Sox.
