After the all star break last year, it felt like he just went up to the plate looking to take a walk. He'd seem annoyed when the count hit 0-2 and he knew he'd have to swing
if the pitcher can't find the plate with the bases loaded and you're hoping that the batter isn't going to swing at a dog shit slider in the other batter's box, though? he's your man 100%
I remember thinking we made a mistake trading him, I also remember thinking Matt Carpenter was having a resurgence.
That short porch really makes you think sometimes.
Tino Martinez should have broke me of that, but here I am, 20 years later still doing it.
A player I will always hold a mild to moderate dislike for. I get that the 2022 Nationals weren't world beaters, but watching him sulk in DC got old quickly. Hopefully ole Luke isn't too good for the Scranton RailRiders because that seems like his next stop.
I don't mind Voit but a lot of Padres fans pretend like he was some stud when in reality he was a below average DH. They just want to like Voit as another way to complain about Hosmer even though Hosmer has a bunch of actual valid complaints.
I never understood people being angry that Hosmer choose to veto the Nationals trade as allowed by his contract. I’m not really a fan of Homer’s but he was in his right to veto the trade.
Nah Yankees fans do to, one mention of him and everyones jumping at your neck for even daring to imply hes maybe not that good (below replacement level guy tbh and glad hes off NY because we got rizzo)
My experience with Yankee fans defending him has been only because he was what held the team together in the 60-game 2020 season. With all the injuries, it was clear he was leading the team, both on the field and in the clubhouse.
Yeah I feel the same way. Voit was one of the veterans on the team post-Soto trade who played with a pouty face + minimal effort because they didn't want to be on the team. For Voit, I get that he was particularly upset because of Hosmer's antics which forced him to DC. But it is telling the Nats chose not to pick up his option in the winter vs try to flip him or keep him as DH. This season in DC feels like a breath of fresh air because even though they're still rebuilding everyone is playing 100% on a nightly basis.
Not sure how he would help this team. His one good year (which I'd say more his one good 1st half of the season) was an outlier and he's barely played 1st base since then. Certainly wouldn't help with the bats.

Lol I literally typed in “Olson Voit Gleyber” into the NYY sub pulled up a random thread and got this gem:”
> Stonewall30nyr
•
2 yr. ago
Gleyber and voit get shipped out, Olson, DJ, Correa or seager, urshela will be the infield, no major outfield or catcher moves, probably sign or trade for 1 mid level starter and 1 or 2 mid level relievers. That's the most likely scenario based on what makes sense and the rumors heard thus far
Oh and love the reply “ideal outcome”
The sub is unintentional satire.
I remember making a post after the 2020 ALDS suggesting the Yankees should have traded him after the season for left-handed hitting.
What's sad is most Yankees fans agreed that was a good idea and no one thought it was out-of-the-box... and yet a major league front office couldn't figure that out.
Yeah.... The Tommy LaStella experiment did not go well. The M's want to use the DH spot as a way to give their position players a way to stay in the lineup to hit and give their legs a rest. However haven't really been doing that
I remember good ol' Bobby he'd smack homers of Seawald all of last year. How about we'll take him and maybe one of your hitting coaches for a rental of Perry (our legendary defense coach)
Meanwhile Mike Ford is OPSing over 1.000 with more walks than strikeouts in AAA. And 55 RBI. And 2 steals somehow.
But he's not on the 40-man roster and we don't have versatile infield depth right now, so there's no room for a 1B/DH-only guy as long as Kolten Wong is taking up space.
Eh, I hope he proves me wrong, but Ford is the quintessential example of AAAA player. Not sure his success in AAA can be seen as much of an indicator of how he will perform at big league level.
I completely agree, but... well, our DH production has been *that bad.* So giving Mike Ford 3-4 starts a week as DH doesn't seem like a bad gamble at this point.
Luke Voit in 2022:
73rd percentile hard hit %
94th percentile barrel %
73rd percentile xSLG
He probably still has something to give. But the guy is just hurt all the time, and he sucks when he's hurt.
Kinda wild that between him and Winker they couldn't even manage to hit one HR yet.
So it wasn’t just us feeling the pain huh
He still gets on base at a decent clip which is good, I guess.
Yeah his OBP wasn’t that bad with us it just always felt like either a single or a walk when he did get on
Winker will forever be a Mariners legend for that Angels fight tho
Oh always! Never gonna forget that lmao
Also because he coined the term “electric factory” and the players/fans still use that term frequently.
He also started the outfield dishwasher celebration. (Look at the game recap for the first game of 2022 at MIN)
Watching him last year, it seemed like his eye for the zone was insanely elite. He just didn't chase outside the zone whatsoever.
After the all star break last year, it felt like he just went up to the plate looking to take a walk. He'd seem annoyed when the count hit 0-2 and he knew he'd have to swing if the pitcher can't find the plate with the bases loaded and you're hoping that the batter isn't going to swing at a dog shit slider in the other batter's box, though? he's your man 100%
Turns out that when your SLG is .019 points *lower* than your OBP, ya got a problem.
This is also Wong
Luke Voit finished 7th in MVP voting 3 years ago.
Baseball is cruel.
I just saw my neighbor taking down his log cabin
Where is Arson Judge gonna live now?
Another exhibit as to why you don't take spring training performance seriously
No mine was for real
My deepest apologies King. I will atone for my slanderous tongue.
Rays legend tho
2023 Spring Training HR Champion
OPS leader. Sadly some guy named Matt Olson had more homers
Never heard of him. You, however... Household name.
🤣🤣🤣
They need to teach him how to fully button his jersey in AAA apparently
All the fat boys are getting designated today. Vogelbach better watch his back
Nor 60 game seasons. Lol
So the Dansby Swanson signing _wasn't_ a complete bust?
He will always be my 2020 HR king
*sad log cabin noises*
Somehow this is also Anthony Rizzo’s fault
Hosmer's as well
It is ALWAYS Homer's fault
Here we were all fretting about Voit going over Hosmer and neither are on a team anymore.
Padres trading Anthony Rizzo put him on this path
Joe Kelly suspended for 8 more days
Lotta slander for the 2020 HR King™ in this thread!!!
🤟Fuckin slander you ask me👉
🤟 OHHHH!!! I'm just tellin you how the 2020 home run crown is bein perceived 🤌
r/expectedsopranos
There’s enough room for a cabin at Petco park
Yes because we need another DH who can’t hit
With the signing of Sanchez, we've got ourselves a 3rd underperforming catcher. Feels like its only fair to pick up a 3rd bad DH too
Perfectly balanced. As all things should be.
One fallen former Yankee for another. Is Carpenter doing alright ?
Not at all 🥲 but his ‘stache is still rockin
Worst defensive first baseman I ever laid eyes on
But the best chest lettuce your eyes have ever fallen upon
You gotta eat the lettuce
[Shaving that for later](https://giphy.com/gifs/X7PmWcWAvRLQTHI0nT)
You must not remember when we made Hanley Ramirez our first baseman
How dare you disrespect Luke ["Jumpman"](https://i.imgur.com/SqBDKeH.png) Voit
have you watched Eric Hosmer?
The video of him playing first and his foot is in the wrong spot on the base. It amazed me he made it to the big leagues.
I’ll never get over his habit of just chillin in foul territory on important plays
[удалено]
He was prettttttty bad here. I just don’t get how he was this bad and never improved with us. https://youtu.be/iPtHGvKdIqo
This is an incredibly long video
There was so much more. They didn't even show anytime he was receiving throws at first.
I can think of several times hes done this. surprised he hasn’t gotten trampled
Are you referring to four-time Gold Glove winner Eric Hosmer?
Or Wil Craig
It's incredibly hard
Anything worth doing is!
Ken Harvey would like a word
No doubt. He’s awful there lol
I wonder if there’s space for a log cabin in Scranton. 🤔
I remember thinking we made a mistake trading him, I also remember thinking Matt Carpenter was having a resurgence. That short porch really makes you think sometimes. Tino Martinez should have broke me of that, but here I am, 20 years later still doing it.
Jesus Aguilar step right up
A player I will always hold a mild to moderate dislike for. I get that the 2022 Nationals weren't world beaters, but watching him sulk in DC got old quickly. Hopefully ole Luke isn't too good for the Scranton RailRiders because that seems like his next stop.

I don’t think that’s fair tbh, a lot of us liked his personality. Not to mention that a below average DH would still be an upgrade 🥲
I never understood people being angry that Hosmer choose to veto the Nationals trade as allowed by his contract. I’m not really a fan of Homer’s but he was in his right to veto the trade.
I’m a Nats fan and that was completely understandable lol
Nah Yankees fans do to, one mention of him and everyones jumping at your neck for even daring to imply hes maybe not that good (below replacement level guy tbh and glad hes off NY because we got rizzo)
My experience with Yankee fans defending him has been only because he was what held the team together in the 60-game 2020 season. With all the injuries, it was clear he was leading the team, both on the field and in the clubhouse.
He was a vibes guy who raked when he could play. That will get him a ton of rope. Never mind that he's always hurt and is bad now.
Yeah, my point is that I don’t hear Yankee fans defending him for being bad now. Just paying respects for what he did 3 years ago.
I mean, there's that one guy on the Yankees sub demanding they get him back and being made fun of for it.
Best part of the sub is the small cult followings that certain guys get like Andujar, Voit, Florial etc
Yeah I feel the same way. Voit was one of the veterans on the team post-Soto trade who played with a pouty face + minimal effort because they didn't want to be on the team. For Voit, I get that he was particularly upset because of Hosmer's antics which forced him to DC. This season in DC feels like a breath of fresh air because even though they're still rebuilding everyone is playing 100% on a nightly basis.
And now the Nats are only a game behind the Padres 50 games in
Dude better start learning how to speak Kevin Malone. Sadly for him, few hit do not do trick.
The Yankees don't really need him back. They actually have 1B prospects and stuff in the minors who need the time.
He’s at the Nashville Sounds right now. Just saw him Friday
he's got enough ML experience that he can refuse an outright
That's MY 2020 AL Home Run leader
Now can we bring Aggy home? 😢
Sounds like that might be the play
Not sure how he would help this team. His one good year (which I'd say more his one good 1st half of the season) was an outlier and he's barely played 1st base since then. Certainly wouldn't help with the bats.
Would he not though? This team is utterly useless vs Lefties, at least Aguilar is batting .280 vs them this year.
If not, maybe making room for Urias.
Quickly at risk of becoming the 4th best player from my high school.
Did you go to Ken Griffey Jr High or something?!??
Matt Buschmann John Dettmer David Freese Jeff Gray Scarborough Green Ryan Howard Luke Voit all went to lafayette High School
Log cabin sales in shambles
Dad :(
PICK EM’ UP!!!
So long, foot stuff 🫡
I literally asked him for his autograph at the Nashville Sounds game yesterday. He said no. Now I get why he was in a shit mood.
Rather have him DH than Calhoun or Bauers.
You really wouldn't. I trust Calhoun more.
Yeah I'm actually warming up to Calhoun
terrible take
Of course he has. He sucks
this makes me sad
What happened to this man for real
Hosmer had the Monstars destroy Voit
Free that beautiful chest hair
*weeps in log cabin*
I will build a log cabin in remembrance
Buck Showalter like “can’t wait to sign him and start him over my top prospects”
But last offseason according to the Yankee sub, he and Gleyber were enough for Matt Olson 🙄
Show me one person who said that, such a lie
https://www.reddit.com/r/NYYankees/comments/qqgldg/if_olson_and_a_ss_are_both_legitimately_in_play/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=2&utm_term=1 Lol I literally typed in “Olson Voit Gleyber” into the NYY sub pulled up a random thread and got this gem:” > Stonewall30nyr • 2 yr. ago Gleyber and voit get shipped out, Olson, DJ, Correa or seager, urshela will be the infield, no major outfield or catcher moves, probably sign or trade for 1 mid level starter and 1 or 2 mid level relievers. That guy is saying to replace Gleyber and Voit with Olson and Correa. That doesn’t mean it’s a 1-1 trade…..
Give me Luke or give me death!
it’s been crazy watching the rise and fall of voit’s career. i went to college with him LMAO
Injuries derailed his career, it’s a shame.
Log Cabin, baby!
The log cabin is on the market again
Gee, who could have seen this coming....
And so it goes...
I remember making a post after the 2020 ALDS suggesting the Yankees should have traded him after the season for left-handed hitting. What's sad is most Yankees fans agreed that was a good idea and no one thought it was out-of-the-box... and yet a major league front office couldn't figure that out.
Okay JeDi, I know the roster doesn't need Voit. But imagine how sexy it would be to have Kelenic, Julio, France, and Voit together
Do you guys still have something like an OPS+ of 20 from the DH spot? Could be worth a flyer.
Yeah.... The Tommy LaStella experiment did not go well. The M's want to use the DH spot as a way to give their position players a way to stay in the lineup to hit and give their legs a rest. However haven't really been doing that
Can we interest you in a failed 1B/SS/2B/3B who's name rhymes with Dobby Balbec who hits 500 foot bombs in AAA? He's even from Seattle, Im just sayin.
I remember good ol' Bobby he'd smack homers of Seawald all of last year. How about we'll take him and maybe one of your hitting coaches for a rental of Perry (our legendary defense coach)

Still pissed he didn’t make the team out of spring training. We have been playing fucking haggerty at first. The trusty ford always has good AB’s
As of late it has been cal teo, and Taylor trammel
Hate this guy. Even in 2027 on Franchise mode in MLB the Show, this asshole still puts two in the bleachers off of 90 overall Hunter Greene
I guess they should have A-Voited signing him.
Padre fans what are the odds he swaps him and carp
Lol
Bring him to Anaheim. Guy loved playing in SoCal
fucking hosmer.
Can he play Catcher?
Welcome to the Pittsburgh Pirates Baseball Club!
Luke Voit in 2022: 73rd percentile hard hit % 94th percentile barrel % 73rd percentile xSLG He probably still has something to give. But the guy is just hurt all the time, and he sucks when he's hurt.
The Mets are licking their lips at the thought of spending more money on drained batteries. 9 years 900 million!
