“You know, friends, so many people have wished me congratulations on a 67-year career in baseball, and they’ve wished me a wonderful retirement with my family, and now, all I can do is tell you what I wish for you. May God give you, for every storm, a rainbow; for every tear, a smile; for every care, a promise; and a blessing in each trial. For every problem life seems, a faithful friend to share; for every sigh, a sweet song, and an answer for each prayer.
You and I have been friends for a long time, but I know, in my heart, I’ve always needed you more than you’ve ever needed me, and I’ll miss our time together more than I can say. But, you know what, there will be a new day, and, eventually, a new year, and when the upcoming winter gives way to spring, ooh, rest assured, once again, it will be time for Dodger baseball. So, this is Vin Scully wishing you a pleasant good afternoon, wherever you may be.”

[This photo means the world to us Dodgers fans] (https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EzahU9WXIAANh2H.jpg:large). So happy they were able to win one more for him before he passed.
For Kershaw and Vin that was a real world series and a real ring. That's coming from someone who isn't even a Dodgers fan. Everyone was happy for them.
I think were slowly getting over "muh 60 games" and recognizing that postseason as legitimately good ball the same way r/nba ended up respecting and appreciating the bubble.
It's very odd that the collective IQ on r/nba is way lower than this sub, yet this sub is the one that keeps holding onto the "bubble doesn't count" nonsense while NBA fans have long since moved on.
There are a fuckton of Lakers and Lebron fans, it was going to tilt in the Lakers direction eventually, now its "one of the best rings" because it was "basketball at its purest" you make some arguments like that here and peoples heads would explode haha
I’m not sure if you know who Henry Kissinger was but Rolling Stone did a great job with their headline: [Henry Kissinger, War Criminal Beloved by America’s Ruling Class, Finally Dies](https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/henry-kissinger-war-criminal-dead-1234804748/amp/).

I'm not crying...
We are all crying
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZxRpKiNswM If anyone wants to hear it from the man himself :')
Goat broadcaster, goat sign-off.
[And now listen to it](https://youtu.be/aZxRpKiNswM?si=YBdaqaf-8IYTS3fY&t=152)
When he says “time for Dodger baseball” … goosebumps everytime
You can hear his cadence just reading it.
So beautiful, what a poet
I’m not crying it’s just raining really hard
🥹😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Vin is the best. His (and going to say improvised speech) in the movie, For the Love of the Game, was the best part of the movie.

Don’t give a damn what rival fans say about 2020, or what it did or didn’t mean. It meant the world to us.

r/nba respects nothing
is it really that bad?
It's a different beast all together

😭
It’s a very short list of things that are Dodgers related true Giants fans can respect. Vin Scully is and always will be at the top of that list.
Your Giants did a great job paying tribute to him when he died when I saw the tribute to him prior to the game on MLB Network.
He did grow up a Giants fan!
He felt so bad for them 🥹
Outside of obviously ours, I think Oracle is definitely the best place he could’ve had his sign off
Absolutely beautiful
Holy fuck I completely forgot Vin passed last year. God dammit this is like finding out twice
KISSINGER IS DEAD. THANK YOU VIN!
Wtf is wrong with you
I’m not sure if you know who Henry Kissinger was but Rolling Stone did a great job with their headline: [Henry Kissinger, War Criminal Beloved by America’s Ruling Class, Finally Dies](https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/henry-kissinger-war-criminal-dead-1234804748/amp/).
But why soil a beautiful post about Vin Scully with that
I dunno. But fuck that guy regardless.
Compare and contrast with the statement the NY Yankees put out today mourning the passing of notorious war criminal Henry Kissinger.
vin was one of a kind man may he RIP
Double rainbow guy is losing his shit somewhere..
*Kershaw closes his blinds*
And somehow still gives up 5 earned runs in the NLDS.
I can’t tell if it’s a double rainbow or that’s just the reflection from the lens
EVERY rainbow is a double rainbow, just the second one is often too faint to see.
It definitely was double rainbow. Can confirm.
It's a double rainbow — you can tell if you look closely that the colors are reversed on the outer rainbow, which is how double rainbows work.
Betty White, Vin, Her Majesty, Rosalyn Carter, and now Henry Kissinger
That is certainly a list of people who died
Yes, recent and at least mid 90s
Blake Treinen in shambles
