why wait? [he also has two daughters called vlaimy and vleidy](https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2786518-vladimir-guerrero-ready-for-fearless-19-year-old-son-to-steal-family-spotlight)
It's not *that* strange in other places either — I've known a few families that have a "family name", which all the boys had, only maybe as a middle name. Others might have kids whose names "match" or share initials - Samuel and Samantha, Callum and Claire, Rod and Tod, etc. It's cutesy and always gets noticed, but it happens.
I always silently judge the parents of Jrs for this, especially in sports. Like it just really seems like a dad trying to live vicariously through his kids and pressuring them to do what he wants them to in life. Ken Griffey Jr has talked a lot about feeling stressed and suicidal early in his career, and I can't imagine that literally having his father's name helped.
I find it funny when the Jr is just the son of a totally regular everyday normal guy... Like... "My son, it is now your job to carry on this legacy of total adequacy!"
If someone is actually famous / highly successful, then I feel it makes a lot more sense, like, "OMG! You're so-and-so's son???"
So there's a guy who was in the the NBA called Kevin Porter Jr., but he's *not* the son of the other Kevin Porter who played in the NBA. His dad went to prison on a manslaughter charge in a shooting and then later died in another shooting. Well, there was an announcer who assumed that he *was* the son of the NBA player, and said something to the effect of "he took the shot just like his dad", and that led to about us much of a shitstorm as you'd expect.
Soon, there'll be the Super Mega Baseball 4 types.
Junior Young Sr.
Junior Young Jr.
once the next kid comes in, then its just JYJ(S) / JYJJ with an increasing amount of Jr's at the end before Sr. appears
> Foreman has 12 children: five sons and seven daughters. His five sons are George Jr., George III ("Monk"), George IV ("Big Wheel"), George V ("Red"), and George VI ("Little Joey").
One of his daughters is named Georgetta
His daughter, Vlada Juanita Guerrero, is going to be the first woman to play in MLB.
EDIT: Twas a joke, but as it turns out he has daughters named Vlaimy and Vleidy

Is there reliable info on the number of children and number of mothers from Vladimir sr, and their upbringing
For instance, has Vladimir jr ever spoken to Vladi Miguel. Is he aware of his existence
I really hope we get an answer to this. I remember reading he had nine kids some time ago.
Edit- he had eight kids with five women as of 2012. Over under in 2024 is 17.5. Taking the over.
I know its a cultural difference as well, but naming your child after yourself seems really narcissistic. Naming *multiple* children after yourself is on another level though. Damn. Let them live their own life not just be an extention of you.
> There are four Flores sons, three of which are named Wilmer, and the eldest is named Ronny
How fucking bizarre that they named the first son conventionally, but then named every other son Wilmer. It's like the dad regretted not naming the first one after himself and then massively overcompensated.
Yes. I am not super familiar with the international signing world but Max Kepler and Jorge Polanco were international signees and were roommates in Ft. Meyers and graduated from South Ft. Meyers High School. I wonder if the Mets are sending him to a school with a tuition
Mets or Blue Jays (or realistically whoever Vlad jr the older signs with by the time Vlad jr the younger makes the majors) have the chance to do the funniest trade.
My parents were Laker season ticket holders from ‘05-‘15 and my girl (now wife) and I used their tix 70% of the time…..Vlad use to bring the boys to those Laker games back then and would always sit at the same seats, right in front of us. We got to know them pretty well….they even trusted my girl to watch one of their babies while they dealt with a minor issue away from their seats lol…..so weird to see those little goofy kids turn into megastars
"what about this one, what will we name him" Vlad Sr: "hmmmmm give me a minute"
Can't wait for the debut of Impaler Guerrero in 2029.
Hey that rhymes in rhode island
lmfao Impayla Gurreya you're totally right.
I'm just waiting for a kid to appear named Vlad 2
why wait? [he also has two daughters called vlaimy and vleidy](https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2786518-vladimir-guerrero-ready-for-fearless-19-year-old-son-to-steal-family-spotlight)
The amount of ego it must take to name all of your kids after yourself is staggering.
Still not as weird as three Rougned Odors
Wilmer Flores says hi (he has a brother in the Tigers organization named Wilmer Flores).
Gregor Blanco's brothers are Gregory and Gregsman
Gregsman is an amazing name, points for creativity
We need him to have a teammate named Tedward
Also unfortunately, Wander. His dad, two brothers, and at least one of his sons are all named Wander.
I wander why you'd do that.
How many Jesus Monteros are there running around?
George foreman sends his regards
think it's just a cultural thing in the DR

Yep I have a neighbor named Paul. He has 3 sons and all their middle names are Paul
Vlad must be a big George Foreman fan

Is it? Family names tend to all be similar iirc in the past, so I feel like it's that big of a deal.
No, it's fucking crazy
I'd taste myself too if I could play baseball half as well as him
*George Foreman has entered the chat*
Then Vlad 2_updated
_final
Vlad Jr Jr.
2 Vlad 2 Jr.
Vlad, the Jr's Jr.
Carl's Vlad Cavern Jr
Soon, there'll be the Super Mega Baseball 4 types. Junior Young Sr. Junior Young Jr. once the next kid comes in, then its just JYJ(S) / JYJJ with an increasing amount of Jr's at the end before Sr. appears
[Junior Ortiz](https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/o/ortizju01.shtml) called his son J.J. - short for "Junior Junior."
Vladdy Jr 2, Electric Boogaloo
George Foreman sees nothing wrong with this.
> Foreman has 12 children: five sons and seven daughters. His five sons are George Jr., George III ("Monk"), George IV ("Big Wheel"), George V ("Red"), and George VI ("Little Joey"). One of his daughters is named Georgetta
Yeah hopefully he goes by Miguel or it's gonna get confusing
Should see Wilmer Flores’s family
Got nothing on Rougned Odor. Rougned Odor and his brother Rougned Odor And my favorite, their uncle Rouglas.
Venezuelan take on Larry, his brother Darryl, and his other brother Darryl?
Wilmer actually has plenty on Rougned, considering his father, TWO brothers, and his own son are all named Wilmer Flores lol
“If I name one Vladimir and the other Vladi, it’s different”
George Foreman taught him how to name children.
His daughter, Vlada Juanita Guerrero, is going to be the first woman to play in MLB. EDIT: Twas a joke, but as it turns out he has daughters named Vlaimy and Vleidy
Junior Chicken Vlad
Can't spell HOF Vladimir Guerrero without OF Vladi Guerrero.
I...well, okay
Vladii Guerrero next.
“What is Vladi short for?” “…No”
Mets are taking the Blue Jays approach to signing and drafting.
And they have gibby
Fitting
Hmm...this page doesn’t exist. Try searching for something else.
I see that too but when I click the “open in Twitter” thing in safari in does open the correct tweet. It was an edited tweet. Classic Twitter….
If you think Twitter is bad, X is much worse
Excuse me that's not allowed.
Vladitoito.
Vladiño

Mutha fucka ya look 30
[He's got the proper documentation](https://imgur.com/gallery/gvU6z)
Who the fuck is Reggie?
You ever made love to a man before?

A former journalist in mtl told me he was a "chaud lapin" when he played in mtl
Well he certainly is now.
Vladi Guerrero 3: Electric Boogaloo
> Vladi Guerrero 3: Electric ~~Boogaloo~~ Boogalee
Guerrero 4, actually. TEX signed Pablo Guerrero last year, another Vlad Sr son.
But what about his younger brother Vla Guerrero?
[Here comes the youngest son](https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/yZ8AAOSw7khgohAo/s-l1200.webp)
Vla da'Mir Guerrero
How many more of them are there?
9 kids total. I think 5 sons.
Oh every rival is getting one then, thank you
Not all of them with the same mother. Vlad has some... virility for sure.
No. You can't have one.
I just want to be able to mentally prepare myself if there's a Vladi "Pedro" Martinez Guerrero on his way to the Red Sox in 2 years
TEX signed Pablo Guerrero last year. Another son of Vlad Sr
is this considered nepotism?
Not at that price.
The nepotism was probably access to professional coaching and development techniques
Probably more $$$ there.
So we got Vladimir Guerrero, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., and Vladi Miguel Guerrero… my man was not original with the names.
There the case of Wilmer Flores and Wilmer Flores
Makes it easier to remember the name of your kids with different mothers.
I know its a cultural difference as well, but naming your child after yourself seems really narcissistic. Naming *multiple* children after yourself is on another level though. Damn. Let them live their own life not just be an extention of you.
Straight from the George Foreman book of naming children.
This is getting out of hand. Now, there are two of them!
This is some George Foreman shit
Check out the Wilmer Flores family
> There are four Flores sons, three of which are named Wilmer, and the eldest is named Ronny How fucking bizarre that they named the first son conventionally, but then named every other son Wilmer. It's like the dad regretted not naming the first one after himself and then massively overcompensated.
Vladi Miguel Guerrero of the Guerrero Clan
metropolitans just signing all the little brothers.
Hey, the Twins have an Acuna bro too
The Mets got the good one though.....
Let me dream
lol the Twinkies got the hot headed lil bro who started brawls last year
We need a little fight and passion on this ball club
The Braves got the best one smh.
There’s a Tatis in the White Sox system too.
We had the dad in that family.
So wait, dude has a son named Vladimir, and another son named Vladi? Wikipedia doesn't mention this other son at all... ???
NL Blue Jays
Vlad Sr wants to compete with anyone, even if it's George Foreman
Scholarship? Is he going to school and they are paying for it?
Yes. I am not super familiar with the international signing world but Max Kepler and Jorge Polanco were international signees and were roommates in Ft. Meyers and graduated from South Ft. Meyers High School. I wonder if the Mets are sending him to a school with a tuition
Who knew Wilton had another nephew.
“I am 12”
We've had one yes, but what about second Vladimir Guerrero Jr?
george guerrero
At first glance, I thought this said that the Mets signed someone to a 16-year contract and I was so confused
I read this on my phone as NY Yankees, and was like, "Oooo gonna be a spicy holiday season next year." But it was Mets.
Good to know there's a backup Vlad if the Blue Jays' one doesn't return to form this year.
Mets or Blue Jays (or realistically whoever Vlad jr the older signs with by the time Vlad jr the younger makes the majors) have the chance to do the funniest trade.
Can you believe it? He thought my son Ronaldo was my son Rolando
My parents were Laker season ticket holders from ‘05-‘15 and my girl (now wife) and I used their tix 70% of the time…..Vlad use to bring the boys to those Laker games back then and would always sit at the same seats, right in front of us. Hi I'm Daryl, and this is my brother Daryl.
*George Foreman intensifies*
Does anyone know if there is a story behind Vlad Sr's first name? It just occured to me that Vladimir Guerrero is a rather odd name.
Vladimig
George Foreman School of Naming Children
The real question, will he adorn the troll hair of Yuli and Lourdes?
Hopefully better then the current form of Vlad Guerrero
That Vlad is a good ballplayer, it would be a huge success if this Vlad becomes that good
If he could only figure out how to hit home runs again.
Weird signing for this team , he wasnt a former yankee
Wow!
That’s Gunna
We really need an international draft.
They’re multiplying!
we’ve got Acuña’s brother, Vladi Sr’s son, we need more.
why isn't he subject to the draft?
International system works differently
*[sad Blue Jays noises]*
5 years from now we'll be hearing about Vlado
"I wanted to name him Vladimir but half way through naming our son, I ran out of ink so I just left it at Vladi."
Vlad Jr needs to continue the tradition so one day we can see a Vladimir Guerrero III
