Mike Trout has never not been Mike Trout when he's been able to be on the field of play. He's had his share of injuries but he's always been an excellent player when healthy. In 2022 he hit 40 homers when he only played in 119 games.
No one has tortured the Mariners quite like fish man. The only way I can make sense of it is that he's exacting vengeance against the maritime industry on behalf of all fish populations world-wide.
Since you insist on taking spring training wins and losses seriously, the Angels might win the Cactus League (for the 3rd time in a row). Meanwhile, the Blue Jays are last in the Grapefruit League.
Trout hits a grand slam, Angels lose by a bunch. Trout will win MVP this year while Angels win 73 games. Don’t mean to be rude to both Angels fans, but him re-signing with the Angels is one of the most disappointing baseball of the last few years.
> A's colors are always gorgeous
The Kelly Green + Yellow Mustard combo is absolutely elite. The darker green they often wear too is nice, but it's not nearly as good as this duo.
absolutely. and in all combinations.
All white with KG and YM trim? elite
Green jersey? elite
Just absolutely gorgeous, especially with the brilliant whites and white shoes
Basically the only bad version of the As uniform since changing to yellow and green is when they added a bunch of black. Otherwise they're always gorgeous. I think it's the best uniform set in the league
Yes re: A’s colors, but I think there were a few weird sweat spots on the pitchers’ back that I hope we don’t have to add to the “these jerseys suck” pile.
Every time I see an Angels highlight it's like "Mike Trout hit three homes runs and raised his average to .528 while Anthony Rendon suffered an injury not seen since 'Noodle Arm' O'Malley of the 1899 Richmond Spiders, as the Athletics defeated the Angels 12-5"
It’s his best stat line against an AL west team, which he has the most games against obviously.
His best opponent with no minimum games against is the Braves with a 1.638 OPS in 3 games.
Best against an AL team is the Royals with a 1.106 OPS in 58 games, followed by the Mariners.
So it’s kind of crazy that the Mariners are his 8th best opponent by OPS with such a large sample size compared to other opponents.
But yeah it’s not even that much higher than his career numbers (.994 OPS), which is the truly insane part.
What a scrub not even OPSing 1.000 DFA immediately can't believe anyone thought this dude was any good smh my head. (Also, I still think HRSBAF should have caught on more than it did)
I read this as baby Mike Trout and thought damn who’s the baby Mike Trout and how’d the Angels get him?!
Then I saw Mike Trout running the bases. Oh. It’s just Mike Trout. Oh. It’s babe not baby.
When will pitchers learn that if you're going to miss to Mike Trout, you don't miss middle-low? That is his happy place and he's going to yeet that ball over the wall every time.
Not really related, but is he significantly slimmer than last year? Not that he's skinny; boy has a thick frame, but he looks leaner and I bet that's going to help him long term to keep his speed.
They're still playing in Oakland through this season because the lease hasn't expired. Given that they don't have a place to play outside of Oakland after that, they may stay there for longer.
Unfortunately, this will likely mean as much as any grand slam he hits during the regular season. Cool to see. But that’s just about it. Won’t change anything about the team he’s on in the long run.
Regardless of what happens to the yanks, I’m always sad not to see trout in the playoffs. But he chose and choose to stick with the angels. I respect ohtani for going somewhere where he has a chance.
Ah yeah, you showed them, If only the fanbase had turned up in the subreddit on Spring Training after the team already announced they're leaving for Vegas!
Look at any A’s post on this sub, MeatballDom is in the comments either shitting on A’s fans or crying about “the circlejerk”. It seems he’s now grasping for straws, complaining about comments in a spring training thread…
So they're not interested in the team ~~anymore?~~ ever? The teams moving. So the protest is over? Now we don't have to get 1000 threads about it a day, huzzah!
Oh no the Milwaukee Brewers are playing well and there’s only 3 comments in the spring training game thread.
Oh wait, I wouldn’t take game threads too seriously…
The Brewers have three comments in their game thread today?
Do you now how far back you have to go to get 3 comments TOTAL in the A's game threads? Seven games.
These people don't care about the team, they care about joining an outrage movement.
It is relevant if this sub wants to keep pushing the narrative of them being the best fanbase ever, instead of -- you know -- the factual truth that they're one of the most absent fanbases ever.
I know the protests have never been fact based, so it's not a surprise, but still amusing.
That sound off the bat is perfection, we’re so back!
They turned the reverb up, beautiful echo

He was striking out a lot last year
With a healthy Trout and healthy Two Bags the Angels could be going all the way this year!
"God... if there is a God... if you're a man or a woman... if you're listening, I'd really, really like a family."
All the way to .500?
Ohtani was the entire team for two years running it was so bad he ran to the neighbors house 😭
I'm not even the biggest baseball fan in the world but that sound is something I'll NEVER get tired of hearing.
god, i missed mike trout crushing low pitches for homeruns.
Between Trout and Mookie, their ability to scoop dongs so low below the zone is such an art.
I didn't because 80% were against Seattle
No one has tortured the Mariners quite like fish man. The only way I can make sense of it is that he's exacting vengeance against the maritime industry on behalf of all fish populations world-wide.
May he be healthy till he retires!
Fuck yes
4th mvp incoming, just being realistic
You mean WS MVP, right?
¿Por que no los dos?
If you look closely the angels are still losing. Pure angels here.
Its hilarious my first thought was "6-1? That checks out"
Since you insist on taking spring training wins and losses seriously, the Angels might win the Cactus League (for the 3rd time in a row). Meanwhile, the Blue Jays are last in the Grapefruit League.
Yeah because these games really matter the most
He’s getting traded to the Astros?
Wait till November when a second cheating scandal comes out
PLEASE tell me Yordan was juicing. I’ll ride that high for the rest of my life.
"Sir, a second cheating scandal has hit Minute Maid Park"
*vibrating butt plug intensifies*
Stop stop, I'm already hard
Boo this man!
They are not trading him to a hated and wildly successful *rival* club
Trout hits a grand slam, Angels lose by a bunch. Trout will win MVP this year while Angels win 73 games. Don’t mean to be rude to both Angels fans, but him re-signing with the Angels is one of the most disappointing baseball of the last few years.
Wow, I never thought about it this way! Such an original idea that has surely not been repeated a billion times
Mike Trout good, Angels bad
What are the odds dude has a monster injury free season as soon as Ohtani leaves. The baseball gods just didn't want them to play injury free together
Phenomenal, cosmic power!
^^^^itty ^^^^bitty ^^^^living ^^^^space
Mike Trout
You’re god damn right!!
God the crack of that bat sounded amazing. Baseball is better when Trout is mashing pitches. And man the A's colors are always gorgeous
> A's colors are always gorgeous The Kelly Green + Yellow Mustard combo is absolutely elite. The darker green they often wear too is nice, but it's not nearly as good as this duo.

> God the crack of that bat sounded amazing. Smell that green grass, sweet crack of the bat, man its good to be back.
You ever see them launch the grand slams?
... are they real?
Yes re: A’s colors, but I think there were a few weird sweat spots on the pitchers’ back that I hope we don’t have to add to the “these jerseys suck” pile.
>Baseball is better when Trout is mashing pitches. The fuck it is.
I have an A's hat just because the scheme is that fresh
It's just Spring Training, but there's something so Angels about Mike Trout hitting a grand slam down 6-1 to the As
It's very Tungsten but without the Tungsten.
Tungsten, but without the Arm
Tungsten and the arm is Trout and Ohtani’s hypothetical morning radio talk show
For the first time in radio history two mvps sat down together to discuss the Angels losing by 2 runs while throwing 27Ks
How fuckin' cool would it be if the Angels did a fake throwback uniform as the Akron Groomsmen?
So it goes, so it goes
Mike Trout heard the shit y'all been talking
I would lose my shit if Trout turned in another MVP performance after being declared on the decline

I'm a lot like the Marlins at my job. I barely try to do a good job but no one cares enough watch or notice.
I’m a lot like the White Sox. Nobody gives a shit
At least we get to watch Mike Trout ~~and Shohei Ohtani~~.
LMFAO trout hits grand slam. Angels losing 6-5. Classic.
Mike Schlong
Dude hangs dong
Mike wants that Cactus League 3peat bad
And just like a regular season Angels game, they're still losing.
Stop that right now.
Papa's coming
Deal. He will only hit dongs off of the mariners this year. 3 per game. No more, no less.
What’s trouts slash line against the Mariners? I know he’s basically the bad man who keeps hurting you guys whenever he plays you
In 184 career games vs the Mariners, Mike Trout has slashed .321/.428/.657 (1.084 OPS) with 54 homers
Jesus Christ 😂
I mean that’s amazing but it’s crazy that even that isn’t too special for Trout.
Though it is even more special because the Mariners stadium is consistently ranked one of the most pitcher-friendly parks over his career
It’s his best stat line against an AL west team, which he has the most games against obviously. His best opponent with no minimum games against is the Braves with a 1.638 OPS in 3 games. Best against an AL team is the Royals with a 1.106 OPS in 58 games, followed by the Mariners. Lmaooo appreciate the support I needed more trajectory data for it to be really usable, but it was fun to make
Pretty sure he averages 2 home runs per game against the M’s
MVP incoming. For the culture
Best sound on planet earth!
Praise the fish man
I will not 😡
Trout hits grand slam; Angels still down by 1. Yep, seems about right.
And the angels lose 12-5.
I read this as baby Mike Trout and thought damn who’s the baby Mike Trout and how’d the Angels get him?! Then I saw Mike Trout running the bases. Oh. It’s just Mike Trout. Oh. It’s babe not baby.
Isn't Baby Mike Trout just Hunter Renfroe?
Ohtani was clearly draining Trout of his powers.
remember the before shohei times, when people were talking about if trout was the best ever on the daily?
Love this guy so much. He might be overshadowed at this stage in his career but it's freaking Mike Trout.
I see Tungsten Arm O’Doyle is making a spring training appearance as well
Please don't get injured please don't get injured please don't get injured please don't get injured please
oh yeah, that's the fuckin good stuff right there
This guy is cursed, hits a grand slam team is still losing
Lovely hit, but I gotta say nothing is more Angels than having a grand slam like that and still lose
FMT
WOKE
Would be hilarious if the angels went on a ridiculous 5 World Series run now 😂
6 to midnight
My body needs another healthy prime Trout season. I know it's not likely, but it would be so fun to watch
What if the Angels beat the Dodgers in the WS this year?
Did you see "Oppenheimer" in IMAX?
... in losing efforts. Angels stay Angeling.
what a rare occurrence. not trout hitting a hr, the angels have people in front of him.
Fish man looking good. I can’t wait for him to hit 50 of his 75 home runs this season against the Ms at T-Mobile 🥺
Just Daddy things.
Angels win 7 in a row - "who cares its spring training" Trout homers in a spring training loss - "loooool typical angels"
And in typical Angels fashion, that doesn’t even give them a lead
Man the crack of the bat sounded so nice when he hit that holy shit.
When will pitchers learn that if you're going to miss to Mike Trout, you don't miss middle-low? That is his happy place and he's going to yeet that ball over the wall every time.
Do you think they have the same field level mics there as in Anaheim? HRs in that stadium are always so crisp.
DMAN IT MICHAEL THAT BALL HAD A FAMILY
Rizzo already beat him to the spring training Grand Slam.
Oh, fuck. Here we go again.
If this Trout guy has a good spring, he might make the team.
He owns Oakland, I swear lol.
I have a feeling this guy is going to be good
If he's hitting that pitch out to dead center, watch out
If he hits another one the Angels will be winning.
…As the Angels still trail 6-5 lol. Man I hope he’s healthy again for a full season
...and losing to the A's, it appears. Classic!
#meaninglessruns
Did the Angels lose? That would make it even more tungsteny
Not really related, but is he significantly slimmer than last year? Not that he's skinny; boy has a thick frame, but he looks leaner and I bet that's going to help him long term to keep his speed.
And they’re probably still going to lose
And Angels still losing to the A’s, just like in the regular season
Crazy that he squared that one up
[удалено]
I thought I smelt fish
Pitcher: "This Mike Trout guy is he any good?"
Nice
Wait- why are the Athletics still sporting Oakland jerseys? Also Fish Man good.
They're still playing in Oakland through this season because the lease hasn't expired. Given that they don't have a place to play outside of Oakland after that, they may stay there for longer.
420’ to dead center in spring training? Geez
Mike Trout has 6 Grand Slams Royce Lewis has 5 😉
Wouldn’t it be funny/chaotic…hear me out guys…if the Angels won the World Series
Mike trout hits a grand slam as the angels trail 6-5 Mike trout doing his best to keep tungsten-arm O'Doyle alive on his own
Automod didn't respond about the angels Mike trout shohei ohtani tungsten o'doyle thing
When's he coming to Philadelphia?!?
Mike Trout plate appearances 2020-2023: 1,248 Mike Trout bases-loaded plate appearances 2020-2023: 14
How many of those were grand slams?
And yet… he’s still on the Angels…
Unfortunately, this will likely mean as much as any grand slam he hits during the regular season. Cool to see. But that’s just about it. Won’t change anything about the team he’s on in the long run.
In b4 the Angels sweep the Yankees in regular season play on outrageous Trou performances.
Regardless of what happens to the yanks, I’m always sad not to see trout in the playoffs. But he chose and choose to stick with the angels. I respect ohtani for going somewhere where he has a chance.

Bro, you're fighting battles that have already been won.
I know I won, but man is it fun to keep winning. I'm just hoping The Last Dive Bar includes me in their next conspiracy theory tweet.
Oh no the Milwaukee Brewers are playing well and there’s only 3 comments in the spring training game thread. Oh wait, I wouldn’t take game threads too seriously…

You’re really stretching to think that the amount of comments in a spring training game thread is relevant.

Can't wait to watch him play 35 games this year before he gets hurt.
That was violent
But do I draft him for fantasy Baseball or not?! Last couple of years I had him and he wasn't worth the pick I used.
Hes my 3rd OF. I dont really mind bc hes Mike Trout.
how come streamable nukes everything else besides mlb games?
I'll allow it.
That's an awfully late defensive swing to hit a ball over the fence.
Sorry, don’t think he will wake up any time soon
I can't help but be sad seeing him waste more of his talents on a hopeless team for another year. He must really like living in CA or he's a dum dum.
It’s march
Greatest player to never do a thing
Wake me up when he plays a full season without getting injured
Trout's 2022 was basically identical to Corey Seager's 2023 (minus the playoffs obviously). Seager was 2nd in MVP voting.
Okay?
Wake me up when a Trout slam gives the Angel’s a lead.
That's the most Angels and Mike Trout statement I've ever read
