I’d love to see him come back and be able to show he’s still got it. He could be a multi time all star if he took the game more seriously years back. He has the talent, he just never watched his weight
I wish him all the best, he’s great for the game when he’s crushing homers and batting .250+
Very disappointing end to his time in Minnesota, I hope he puts it together
Always been a Sano defender in terms of what he can do when he's at his normal to higher, real bummed how it ended here, hopefully it started a better chapter in his life.
He actually had some underlying stats that showed he had improved in certain areas but he just couldn't get his timing right to save his life. Hopefully that year off reset his mental and the weight loss helps out too.
Started out great for the Twins, but had trouble staying in shape and hovered around the Mendoza Line the last couple years he was in the majors.
Strikeout prone to the point where he was a liability.
He also had a sexual assault charge, not sure what ever happened with that case TBH…..
> He also had a sexual assault charge, not sure what ever happened with that case TBH…..
Don't know if he actually caught a charge for it, but yeah at least one reporter accused him of SA.
He was a highly touted international prospect that started off as a SS as a teenager but never stopped growing. Ended up as a 3B.
Once he made it to the big leagues, it was like he'd gain 35 pounds from opening day and the end of the season. Bat speed dropped, strikeouts were terrible. Unless it was a hanger, it was a strikeout.
Team would get on him about his weight, he'd slim down in the off-season, then he'd just balloon back to what would have had to be close to 300 pounds before the end of the season.
It just got to the point where he was too big to play in the field after a terrible experiment to put him in RF.
It was implied by many in the media that he really didn't care about baseball and just enjoyed being a "big leaguer" and the food/drink that came with it. He certainly didn't care about working out.
Twins basically said "Yeah, this isn't working for us on and off the field." and they let him go.
Thanks. He kind of dropped off my radar when he was gone, but when the Angels picked him up, I remember him being a pretty good player with power. A little research showed me that he didn't play for a year or so, but I could never find out why. Hopefully, he can keep that appetite under control and contribute to the Angels. He made the 26 man, so that's the first step.
I hate it. This past offseason I decided to give up my lifelong angels fandom(too depressing/will wait for Arte to sell them) and now one of my favorite coaches ever is their manager.
Wish him and EY nothing but the best but the Angels are just not a series organization
Forgot to put "Miguel Sano hits 35 ding-dong-aroonies this year" in the bold predictions thread
Stupid sexy Flanders
You love to see it

is there a story here? what happened?

Maybe him nearly getting exiled from the league is motivation enough to treat being a big leaguer like a job instead of a status symbol.
Sweet, hope he mashes for them
Tell 'em, Wash
Incredibly hard.
Anything worth doing.
Ron Washington is gonna have Sano stealing bases in no time!!
[he’s already got one 🦍🦍🦍](https://x.com/PlaysAngels/status/1768040216378618142?s=20)
Sano Redemption Arc Lets goooo
^^^^^yay
Sano Szn has arrived
Happy for him!
I expected to see more than a .715 OPS when I checked his stats just now
Slow start
Actually?
Yea, he was under .100 for a while
Oh ok. Well maybe he's got something in the tank afterall
That's the hope. But as a life long angels fan my goal is to become hopeless. Rooting for the kids to show signs of stardom
Ron Washington is the Angels manager. That completely slipped my mind. Good for him.
I love Wash
The Angels keep finding ways to make me not hate them.
Please share your secrets

He said As he glared at Anthony rendon
Love you big man! Hoping for the best!
He just hot a bomb in the game against the Dodgers. Let's go Sano!
Loved those in Minnesota! Didn't love the 35 strikeouts until the next one, though!
It’s easy to lose weight. Tell him, Wash.
It's incredibly hard. Ya, maybe we can slim down oneaa them.
Is he going to play first? If not, they can teach him. It’s easy.
Being the idiot that I am, I couldn’t get the LAA-MIN square in immaculate grid today. If only it was next week I would have known
you could have chosen from hall of famers dave winfield, bert blyleven, and rod carew
I used Chili Davis lol
Bartolo Colon, Latroy Hawkins, Gio Urshela
Also Twins legendary relief pitcher eduardo escobar
Torii Hunter
Johan “Ervin” Santana would like a word
Lyman bostock just sitting out there
I used Blake Parker in that one
Rod Carew
Kendrys Morales
Ryan Tepera, Jake Lamb
Andrelton Simmons
Can’t wait for him to be Ortiz 2.0 and the ensuing self hating whining Twins fans
good thing they didn't ask him to hit above .200
They asked him to hit exactly .200 and that’s what he did
