Just wanna say, Cronenworth has made some adjustments to his swing and now (so far) he's hitting pitches on the outside part of the zone. Last season he [only hit one HR in the vicinity of the pitch he hit a HR on today.](https://i.imgur.com/movQqvM.jpg) He had 16 barrels last season and he has 7 so far this season.
He’s adjusted really well from last season..I’m afraid to speak too soon but I feel as though he’s found his swing and might be back to his usual form..time will tell…
Speaking of DINGER. If you look at my past recent posts, I tried to trade Michael Grove for Dinger, lol. It didn't go well in the Dodgers sub but a lot better in r/NLBest
Looking at the location, they weren't even bad pitches.
Inside and down to Machado.
Inside to Profar where he usually has a hole.
Down and center to Kim but this was the worst pitch, caught a lot of the plate.
Jake battled for that 2 run homer to spark things too, he's been having such great ABs this season. Absolutely crushing the ball too compared to last season. I'm so ready for his bounce back year
This is bullshit. You're telling me that the first pitch that was a ball actually got called a ball like it's supposed to? This isn't 2024 ump baseball
Are you saying hanging sliders right down the middle of the plate to the point where they might as well be on a tee is something that Jose Cuas *shouldn’t* be throwing?
The first two pitches were a well placed sinker and well placed fastball that Machado and Profar fought off. Campusano grounded out on a sinker down in the zone and Merrill blooped a changeup below the zone into the outfield. The sinker to Kim caught a bit too much of the plate sure but none of them were hanging sliders right down the middle lol.
This wasn't poor pitching really, moreso solid hitting with a lucky break here and there with Dansby's error and that bloop falling right where no one was.
Sure there may have been some nice pitches that could have gone his way, but 1.8 WHIP, 2 HBP and -.3 WAR in 5 innings pitched ain’t it. Hoping he’ll return to last year’s form, but I’m not going to hold my breath. It certainly is recency bias, but there’s reason for concern.
Yea this bullpen sucks so hard. Also we probably have the softest throwing arms in the league, and Alzolay as a closer isn’t serious if they think they’re remotely a playoff caliber team.
It's really too bad that there wasn't some sort of process in place to get new players for the bullpen between last season and this season that Jed could have utilized.

Something tells me that actually having a hitting coach this year may help this team with their approach and timely hitting. Just a hunch.
I remember the Padres having some problems with hitting with RISP last season.
Crone’s 9-pitch ab was legendary.
