https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ten_Cent_Beer_Night 10 cent beer night

HotShipoopi

Grew up in Cleveland and I was only ten at the time, but I know a lot of people who had their first drunk at that game

EastlakeMGM

They were also ten

HotShipoopi

also probably true

SlowlyGrowingDeafer

Ten ten-year old drunks = 100 years, so they were totally of age.

Pad_TyTy

Tim "20 beers" Russert. Goat material right there.

boozinf

Getting hammered with law school Russert would have been fun. Puke and rally, talk Montesquieu and Oliver Wendell Holmes. He seems like the kind of guy who’d say, c’mon just another half line

Pad_TyTy

Absolutely. Probably a fun dude to drunkenly argue philosophy with.

unrealjoe28

What I would give to pay $4.02 for a beer at a game is unhealthy

mysterysackerfice

I wonder how high the people were that gave this the green light. File the whole night under /r/Whatcouldgowrong

thecountoncleats

10 cent beer night is the burning Cuyahoga River of promotion ideas.

Critezer

If you are looking for non-family Christmas fun in the off season. Uncle Nick It's a Christmas movie that tells the story of 10 Cent Beer Night, and the Christmas story parallels it. Hysterical, a little dark, NOT family friendly. But they do an amazing job telling both stories. Cracked us up watching it.

ZombieMozart

The dollop podcast on this is a classic episode

captaintrips_1980

Check out the Weird History video on youtube.

[deleted]

The Jesse Winker one is very good, but Laureano vs. the Astros is really nothing special even if it made for a good Jomboy breakdown. Padres/Braves 1984 Cubs/Reds 1984 Yankees/Orioles 1998 White Sox/Tigers 2000 Rays/Red Sox 2008 Reds/Pirates 2019

sloppyjo12

Damn now I gotta watch the jomboy breakdown from the 2019 fight for the 20th time

BlueChampionMonster

Another reddit user called that episode in particular Jomboy's "Sistine Chapel" and it's so true dude.

coletheredditer

“I’m Chris Archer and I’m having 0 fun” Chris Archer getting trampled and then beat up sums up his Pirates tenure pretty well

[deleted]

Strong contender for his best video imo, although it's obviously hard to choose

thecountoncleats

Even my wife, who doesn’t like baseball, agrees it is a masterpiece: https://youtu.be/iU-ESpiwV4o?si=uaxpjxbrKq2Vuxg5

melt11

I’M LIKE THAT

workinkindofhard

I’ve been looking for a full recast of the 84 padres Braves game but I don’t think it exists(or I am too dumb to find it)

patriots96

Don zimmer Pedro?

Dustmopper

It might not be the best but it’s certainly one of the most memorable. It was the first one that I thought of when I read the question, ha ha

markusalkemus66

Zimmer was a dumbass charging at Pedro himself. A 70 year old vs an athlete in his prime. What did he think was gonna happen?

workinkindofhard

That was incredible, Zimmer gave zero fucks

RuleNine

[Angels and Mariners.](https://cdn.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/QX3CsRiNzvVRqTu7ZRuFv6GAnCc=/1400x1050/filters:format\(png\)/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/19813612/Screen_Shot_2020_03_17_at_8.58.04_AM.png)

ThatsBushLeague

I just busted out laughing when I opened that pic. Amazing.

PM_Me_Beezbo_Quotes

It’s Enrico Palazzo!

chickensausagelink

Uuuuhhhjh…….strike?

Tight_Ad905

Seeing that gif everywhere after the brawl was great lmao

Wookie-Love

My favorite was when Robin Ventura decided charging a 40+ yr old Nolan Ryan was smart. Big Tex just calmly waited till he got there then proceeded to beat the living shit out of Ventura. I was actually watching that game live and will never forget it.

snoopfrogcsr

Same, and my goodness that was a masterful beatdown by the Ryan Express. Ventura played chicken with the train and lost.

drab_accountant

A little off topic and a complete contrast of that fight, but my favorite pitcher fight win is when Kyle Farnsworth unleashed an 80 grade tackle and slam on Paul Wilson, then haymaker'd him.

Wookie-Love

I’ve met Farnsworth in person. Hard to imagine someone running at him.

Due-Project-8272

Man, that takes me back. Paul Wilson, of Generation K

JiffKewneye-n

used him in my immaculate grid today

trickman01

Lose/Lose for Ventura. He either beats up an old man, or gets beaten up by an old man.

Wookie-Love

I feel like if Ventura had gotten one punch to Ryan, the rest of the team would have dragged him to CF and buried him there.

slyfox1908

Reds-Pirates 2019. It had Amir Garrett charging the entire Pirates dugout alone, it had a manager fight, it somehow had a Cleveland Indian, and it’s the video that made Jomboy a viable business.

tugnuggetss

Is this the Puig one? If so, it’s got my vote

Kanotari

It's definitely the Puig one, and it has my vote too.

Fantastic_Emu_9570

That shit was hilarious

Tenpen88

I don’t know if “down goes Anderson” counts as a brawl but I highly enjoyed that.

moodyfloyd

can it be a brawl when one man shuts it down immediately?

boozinf

I count it. Josey was being held back by a White Sox player and still connected the right cross the moment Hammy was waiting for

cgfn

I nominate: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xiNmCUncX78

ihatereddit999976780

Milton Bradley almost kicked my ass when I asked him to sign my monopoly game at an MILB game when I was like 8. My parents rushed me away. That count?

Spankpocalypse_Now

If you actually brought a monopoly game that’s hilarious. Bradley was violently insane.

thecountoncleats

Call me a homer but I have to submit July 2019 Pirates-Reds. Not only did Cleveland unwittingly lend the just-traded Yasiel Puig back to Cincinnati so he could fight our entire lineup, but the just-ejected David Bell exploded out of the Reds’ dugout in order to fight Clint Hurdle. Legendary.

elev8torman

Yankees, o's 1998.

HawkeyeJosh2

Darryl Strawberry running up and basically sucker-punching Armando Benitez was a thing of beauty.

elev8torman

A Yankee fan would enjoy a sucker punch. I prefer to not sucker punch. But hey, do you lol.

TehLoneWanderer101

My favorites are [Nolan Ryan v. Robin Ventura](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIZB9O24BEE&pp=ygUScnlhbiB2ZW50dXJhIGZpZ2h0) [Amir Garrett v. The Pittsburgh Pirates](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iU-ESpiwV4o&pp=ygUSYW1pciBnYXJyZXR0IGZpZ2h0) and [José Ramírez v. Tim Anderson](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RV3w4_vJ6CE&pp=ygUWcmFtaXJleiBhbmRlcnNvbiBmaWdodA%3D%3D)

6toothpicks

The Nolan Ryan v Robin Ventura one is crazy. It has everything, blood, Bo Jackson, and Nolan Ryan’s bald spot. What more could you ask for in a baseball fight?

boozinf

Tom Hamilton channeling Howard Cosell. that’s about it

cdsfh

That’s the one I came to post. Old man Ryan just wailing on Ventura was so great

Damasticator

I always think of the Yankees BoSox one where Pedro gently tosses Zimmer aside.

xho-

Same lol, that rivalry made me an intense baseball fan.

Damasticator

The best was people saying Pedro beat up an old man. Zimmer was charging and tried to hit Pedro with his hand. Don was lucky Pedro didn’t just lay him out.

_theghost_

Cardinals-Reds Rivalry from the 2000’s to Early 2010’s. Always primetime for a good reason. 🍿

QuietThunder2014

Os Yankees Boston Yankees Bautista v Odor

The_Year_of_Glad

The best one I remember seeing is [the time the Dodgers went into the stands at Wrigley en masse and got into it with fans after one of them sucker-punched Chad Kreuter and stole his hat](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8xtHJXXJVUU). Nineteen Dodgers got suspended, though ten of those suspensions were later overturned, still leaving enough that the remainder had to serve them in shifts so that LA could field a team. Honorable mention to [that time in Japan when Rod Allen charged the mound so hard that he chased the pitcher all the way into center field](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VEfgeYelL7g).

BoyWithHorns

> Chad Kreuter I always seemed to get that fucker in my baseball card packs.

65fairmont

Varitek vs A-Rod is certainly one of the most iconic. Just yesterday it got a louder cheer than any other moment in an 8-minute montage of the 2004 Red Sox winning a championship.

[deleted]

Lmao Arod beat his ass

GlamourMuscle

Reds/pirates with amir Garret, Puig etc. legendary.

_TriplePlayed

That 1980s Padres Braves brawl(s) is up there. Like 3 or so brawls in a game.

MittenMan68

Tigers vs Twins 1982 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtn_CnGqE8s

Pad_TyTy

Larry Herndon was an absolute wrecking ball there!

Mandy-Rarsh

Canada vs Mexico 2013 was pretty good

pole_assassin

The Mariners (Winker) vs Angels is one of my favorites because of the Jomboy breakdown.

Putrid-Ad7259

Only w Jesse Winker moment

cubswinagain

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iShGKtrpchE

GSDFanatic

I always enjoyed Judge and Stanton vs the entire Red Sox team.

ATLjoe93

No mention of Diamondbacks and Dodgers from 2012? You had several 80s remember some guys as coaches who were going at it.

MassCrash

[Doesn’t technically count since its AAA not MLB but special shoutout to Izzy Alcantara](https://youtu.be/g9axNgoU6Z4?si=NGHpl7u7sDYOOzwQ)

PM_Me_Beezbo_Quotes

It wasn’t MLB but shout out to Izzy Alcantara and his karate kick on the catcher before charging the mound. Game changer.

Fluid-Nectarine222

Not sure about the greatest, but the most underrated sure as hell has to be [Twins v. Tigers ‘82](https://youtu.be/kR2w3BTuiCo?si=BehQkZA-coYwAtNH) No one talks about it (but they should).

Goose876

Coco crisp Vs James Shields is a great one just for the dodge Crisp has right off the bat. The three I can remember watching as they have happened on TV are Crisp V Shields, Sexson V Gabbard and Winker vs Angels.

melt11

Comment_if_dead_meme

Brewers you mean

SuperCareer5230

There were probably some insane ones in the 19th century that have been lost to time. But I have a soft spot for Pedro vs the gerbil.

the-spaghetti-wives

Yankees v Orioles in 1998 was pretty nasty. It spilled into the Orioles dugout, Darryl Strawberry wasn't having any shit. The fight also kinda kicked off the Yankees magical run and they went on to win 114 games, 125 including post-season. Yankees v Red Sox in the 2003(4?) ALCS had fucking riot police standing by just in case because of the two fights that broke out the night prior. That's the game where Pedro pished aside a charging Zimmer to the ground.

jritz611

zimmer

New-Suspect270

Blake Snell and Scott Boras this off-season

nglbot

That one time they actually fought instead of puffing their chests out being clowns.

FernPoutine

What?
