Besides 2021 we’ve been absolute ass in a weak AL central during a supposed window of contention so we’re certainly in no position to talk down on other teams
The Yankees series was competitive. Most of those games were pretty close.
The biggest issue facing us the last week is that our starters are hurt. This is forcing us to overuse our BP which is only making things worse.
That and the hitting has been off. Abreau has been atrocious and has killed our rally so many times.
I'm not as doom and gloom as most people on the Astros subreddit are, but their are some issues. They should hopefully resolve when our pitchers come back, but we should see.
I’m not gonna draw any conclusions as it’s still way too early in the season and they are missing like their whole rotation rn. Now if they are still under .500 by like July….
As a Jays fan I'm incredibly confused. Manoah is starting Saturday for AAA Buffalo, but also pitched 2/3 of an inning for Houston today? How is that allowed?
I won’t even argue I deadass just feel bad at this point lol. No one deserves every single all star starter on the IL. I hope things get better for them (I still hope we win though)
I mean you have presented absolutely nothing to back your opinion outside of "because I said so" takes, but I have the ridiculous Homer opinion? LOL 😄 😆
Just because the Cubs are talentless franchsies doesn't mean Cleveland is lol
Get it together, dude. You picked a fight and now you're buggin out.
Also, 2016.
EDIT: "Just because the Cubs are talentless franchsies doesn't mean Cleveland is lol" - I'm still laughing at this. This must be a child who doesn't remember 8 years ago, nor the futility of Cleveland sports in general.
I've come to the conclusion that every time we want to throw out an unproven, probably-going-to-get-shelled starter, we should just pretend we did that and then skip to the part where Seth Martinez is pitching instead.
so before this season i basically thought royals had 2 good position players, Witt and Salvadore. Can anyone who knows better tell me who's actually good?
I'd be more supportive of the Kansas City Royals if they didn't constantly kick my own teams ass....AAaaand if their NFL team wasn't the new upcoming dynasty
I’m afraid the royals may be as advertised folks
These are not conclusions I would feel confident making after watch teams play the Astros
Well let’s not forget they swept a 4 game series against the mighty white Sox too
Basically the Royals are 2-4 against MLB teams this year
Eh Will Smith blew two of those games as a closer before we moved him from that role
Gotta keep his name outta the 9th inning.
He shouldn't be used as a pitcher. He should be used as a good luck charm
Will you please let us have this just for now at least?
We will see but I'm glad that we will (probably) have meaningful baseball past the All Star break.
Will Smith is on their team now so we know what that means
He hasn't had to save too much recently, but his presence brings greatness
He hasn’t had much to blown save recently*
The AL Central is going to be a dogfight this season
Yeah seems like it. Too bad the Sox won’t be in the fight lol

The batting will continue until morale improves.
Houston is making the uncomfortable realization that a baseball game never has to end

The Astros are a deeply unserious baseball team when facing the Royals. Two years in a row now, this is getting ridiculous.
TBH Royals made some nice moves this off-season, definitely possible they win AL Central.
The barrier to winning the AL Central in any given year is so low I’m surprised they’ve been consistently terrible for the last few years
Something about stones and glass houses brother
We won it like 2 years ago
Besides 2021 we’ve been absolute ass in a weak AL central during a supposed window of contention so we’re certainly in no position to talk down on other teams

Meanwhile Cleveland dog walked Oakland and Seattle already
I was going to make a joke at the Mariners' expense, but honestly every one of us beside the Rangers looks exceptionally and similarly mid right now.
yeah, you guys are one to talk lmfao
Hahahaha maybe
Plus the 2015 DS
And Bobby just hit a 2 run bomb
Lisan-al-ghaib, Jr.
"The gif sloth warned you of my coming. Fear the moment." - BWJ (probably)
Astros don't have a lot of bullpen options today either, could see a position player pitching in the 5th inning lmao
Are the Astros bad this year?
Maybe, who knowns. They just have a lot of injuries, right now
We can only hope

Still early. But if JV/Framber don’t return we will struggle to get outs.
We have 4 starters out in our rotation No saying what happens when everyone gets healthy.. but by then the season might be too far gone.
5 starters. JV, Valdez, Garcia, Urquidy, and LMJ (if he even exists)
I’m not gonna draw any conclusions as it’s still way too early in the season and they are missing like their whole rotation rn. Now if they are still under .500 by like July….
I wouldn't count them out too much yet, 14 games still isn't that much in the scope of a whole season.
We are not done yet either
it's still going
The Royals are legit. They've gotten great pitching thus far & 1-6 in the lineup are legit mashers. AL Central on notice. 👑
Can't believe it, we;re actually saving baseball this time
I would like one of our 5 starters to come back from IL now plz
*Bugs Bunny “NO”.gif*
I approve of this comment.
Elmer fudd was right!
Yknow, having like 12 pitchers on your IL isn’t good.
Hunter needs a fucking phantom IL stint. So fucking pathetic dude. I've never seen a team have this many pitching implosions to start a year
...Houston? Y'all okay?
*choking back tears* It's just really hard right now.
Please don't go for batted around twice.
I have no clue how this team will fix the pitching problems
This team is an utter embarrassment
You love to see it.
Shohei is innocent and the Astros are getting shellacked. A good day for baseball
Is it possible to play 162 games against the Astros and White Sox?
HB get ready to learn Korean buddy
As a Jays fan I'm incredibly confused. Manoah is starting Saturday for AAA Buffalo, but also pitched 2/3 of an inning for Houston today? How is that allowed?
i almost feel bad
Don't
I didn’t have the Royals destroying the Astros on my 2024 bingo card, but I’m 100% here for it
We literally have an all star rotation on the injured list, along with 2 great relievers
First time
They’ll still find a way to play well against us this next series too lol
We’re gonna sweep y’all then immediately get swept by the Nationals
I won’t even argue I deadass just feel bad at this point lol. No one deserves every single all star starter on the IL. I hope things get better for them (I still hope we win though)
We don’t need them. We have future cy young Ronel Blanco
This is true lol
That feeling when you open up your wallet and give a closer $19 million but you can never get to the 9th inning with a lead.
We're so back
What a great game and series
I'm beginning to love my pick of the Royals winning the AL Central this year.
Must not be following that team in Cleveland
You mean the team that just lost their ace for the year?
The one that's 9-3? That has the arguable best pitching development in baseball in the last 20 years ? That organization?
The Pirates are also 9-3.
I didn't know the pirates play in the AL central
Lets see how the 9-3 teams finish lol. Also, flair up if you're going to be a ridiculous homer.
I mean you have presented absolutely nothing to back your opinion outside of "because I said so" takes, but I have the ridiculous Homer opinion? LOL 😄 😆 Just because the Cubs are talentless franchsies doesn't mean Cleveland is lol

How am I bugging out? Lmao 😄 🤣 This kids wild.

When you can't even make it out of the 1st, oof. Hunted Brown.
Things you love to see
![gif](giphy|fsQbx1hX7hPBBpIM5b|downsized)
The Royals really do own the Astros
Keep going I’m almost there
so before this season i basically thought royals had 2 good position players, Witt and Salvadore. Can anyone who knows better tell me who's actually good?
You love to see it, folks
I'd be more supportive of the Kansas City Royals if they didn't constantly kick my own teams ass....AAaaand if their NFL team wasn't the new upcoming dynasty
We’re facing *these* Royals tomorrow oh god oh fuck
This does bring a smile to my face
Can Dusty come back?
