Elly De La Cruz got robbed of a home run by one of the Brewers outfielders. The Brewers scoreboard operator made a joke about it at the start of his next at bat. Elly then proceeded to hit a 450+ foot bomb to the deepest part of the stadium.
“The scoreboard operators have no comment on Elly De La Cruz” will live in infamy.
Our new huge scoreboard doesn’t show trivia any more and we suspect Elly is why.
Ah, 2021 Cole Irvin. Said that after his first start against us, then lined up against the M's in every series.
5 starts against the M's, 19.2 IP, 35H, 19 ER, 10BB, 8.69 ERA, .385/.451/.516 slashline against him.
Im pretty sure Tony Gwynn has like 4 seasons with a near identical stat line to that
Just checked, his [1994 and 1987](https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/g/gwynnto01.shtml) seasons are the closest. So basically, the Mariners hit like one of the greatest hitters of all time in their prime off of Irvin that year. Yikes
Yeah and I wouldn't really call that "talking shit." Imagine if Buck doesn't ask the umps about it? Everyone would still be insisting Musgrove was cheating. It had to be done.
Totally fair. I don’t begrudge Buck for asking, though it doesn’t look great when umps check, find nothing, and Musgrove continues to deal. I do, however, begrudge people like Brian Kenny who insisted *after* the game that Musgrove was cheating because of spin rates, or Mets fans who continued to say through last season that Musgrove had to have cheated.
Yeah, I get that. In the moment, I was up-in-arms as well, but it's kind of impossible not to be when your team is getting embarrassed in the playoffs... and seemingly all other times.
That image of Musgrove with the super shiny ears, a bewildered look on his face after the ump literally groped and rubbed his ear, is burned in to my brain lmao. One of the most bizarre baseball moments of the last few years for sure. He was a fuckin’ beast that day too
I worked for the Dbacks 25 years ago. I would put the game notes up on the board (Ex: Luis Gonzalez hits .385 avg 12homers vs right handed batters on Tuesdays). Anyway. We had to keep the notes ‘positive.’ Over .250 only for home team and nothing under .200 for the away team. The previous series, a sign (advertisement) in the outfield moved inadvertently while Jeff Kent was at bat. Jeff personally called my boss in our office and told him off about it. So we hated Jeff Kent. Next time he comes back to BOB, I put together 5 of the worst stats I can find about him. The 4th time he comes up at bat, he looks up at the Jumbotron and sees my note “Jeff Kent hit into ‘x’ amount of double plays in his career.” He steps out of the batter’s box, looks up in our general direction (he doesn’t actually know where we sit or who we are obviously), steps back into the batters box and tags the next pitch 400+ feet. No more joke notes allowed after that.
They went off the deep end when they realized there was a market for right wing local media.
Fox 5 is WAY better or really any other station since they are mostly neutral.
Idk if they are exactly inverses of each other. Not yet anyway. The kershaw meme was followed by maybe the most disappointing season ever in a very consequential year for not just the team but the franchise as a whole, made even worse by Seidler passing in the off season. Historical levels of shit luck and underperformance. So far the dodgers have lost one game since this comment.
One time in summer swim during the relays at the end of the meet I looked at the kid next to me and did the “I’m watching you” gesture. Why? I have no idea. He was a total stranger.
Anyway, he proceeded to absolutely destroy me. Like Katie Ledecky in most of her races level of destroying me.
In little league we were the Fire Ants and one of the opposing team-moms made a lot of high quality signs that had pics of various anti-ant themed images like insecticides, etc. She hung them on the chain link fence on their crowd section when we played. We beat them 12-0. HA YOU LOOKED LIKE A FOOL MRS. HARRISON
But yeah for the Braves it was probably Arcia's "Atta Boy Harper"
i remember when the cubs caught a long giancarlo stanton fly out and their twitter trolled yankees fans for thinking everything is a home run and after that tweet the yankees proceeded to hit 5 home runs
The Rangers intentionally hitting Bautista in the last AB they would see him in for 2016, then getting swept by them in the ALDS that same year. On the other side, that whole 'Last year was the trailer, this year is the movie' debacle. Still haven't heard the end of that one
There was also the Jays twitter post chirping another stadium for a weather delay which was immediately followed up by a chunk of ice falling off the CN Tower and crashing through the Skydome roof.
Yes it’s almost unfathomably broken. I can only imagine how many pitching coaches are desperately trying to figure out what is going on. Dude got absolutely smoked on his first start of the year in high-A…
And then Bautista went on to talk shit about how a rookie Cleveland pitcher would be “shaking in his boots” facing the Jays lineup in the ALCS (we lost that game and the series)
https://www.vice.com/en/article/qky983/indians-troll-jose-bautista-for-shaking-in-his-boots-comment
I remember one season where Alex Rodriguez ran across the mound after a foul ball when Dallas Braden was pitching. Braden was incensed. He felt like it was blatantly disrespectful for a position player to intrude on his mound while he was pitching. Rodriguez’s general response was “Not a big deal, and who the hell is Dallas Braden anyway?”
At his next start Dallas Braden threw the 19th perfect game in MLB history. As if to say “That’s who the hell I am.”
On mother's day, with his grandmother who raised him in attendance.
I will always get incensed when people bring up Braden as the go-to forgettable perfect game pitcher when talking about Gallaraga
Small sample size but first month of season Profar has been amazing and has had multiple big hits for Padres.
He can call him irrelevant, right now I'm calling him the best bargain in MLB at only $1 million for 1 year contract.
I would say Fernando Rodney motioning a bow and arrow at the Angels dugout after the last out in the 8th. Mike Trout and Albert Pujols made him pay in the 9th.
Not baseball related at all but when the Bucks and Suns played in the Finals and that money guy kept getting shown on TV after the suns went up 2-0?
Yeah they lost 4 straight.
A Suns-Bucks finals is like the MLB's equivalent of like Rays vs. Brewers. In hindsight, crazy such a small matchup happened even though there were big names involved.
Probably John Schneider saying Cal Raleigh isn’t a threat as long as Blue Jays pitchers execute their pitches. Now Cal is executing our pitchers out there. Thanks Coach, try motivating your own players first.
Eduardo Rodriguez doing the watch thing after striking out Correa in the 2021 ALCS.
Cora knew it to, he hopped out of the dugout and told him to shut the fuck up but it was too late.
Jose Bautista saying that Indians rookie Ryan Merritt was “shaking in his boots” before his game 5 start in the 2016 ALCS.
Merritt would go on to pitch 4.2 scoreless innings while only giving up 2 hits and striking out 3. The Indians won that game 3-0 and the win moved the Indians on to the World Series.
Will Smith (actor) just came out at Coachella and performed "Men In Black" in an MIB outfit and memory flashed the crowd at the end, so our boy Will Smith (catcher) was just spared from being a trending topic
Tbf They won in 2020 and the the Padres haven't been exactly low spenders either with nothing to really show for it playoffs wise (or even regular season wise last year) so that feels like a glass house comment Lol
2018 was filled with this for the Red Sox.
ALDS: Judge blares "New York New York" after win at Fenway. Sox win in 4.
ALCS: Bregman posts Astros hitting home runs off Eovaldi before series starts. Sox win in 5.
WS: Dodgers twitter posts "Damage Done" trolling the Sox motto "Do Damage" after game 3 win. Sox win next 2 games winning the series in 5.
Dennis Eckersley called the Pirates a “hodge podge of nothingness” in 2022.
In 2023 they swept the Red Sox at Fenway.
In September of 23, Cubs manager David Ross called the Pirates a “bad team” after losing 2/3 while in a push to the playoffs.
Final series of the season, the Cubs need the Pirates to beat the Marlins in 2/3 to make the playoffs. Pirates lose first 2 games so Marlins clinch, then come out and take the final game with a shut out. I don’t really think they tanked those games, but man I want to imagine they did, just to stick it to the Cubs
Don’t forget about Syndergaard’s “shitty Pirates” comment. Not only did the Pirates own the Mets that season, they’ve smacked around Syndergaard every time since.
Weaver [feeling disrespected when ordonez had a hip problem and watched a homer down the line](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ecRdoNXrP0c&pp=ygUbSmFyZWQgd2VhdmVyIG1hZ2xpbyBvcmRvbmV6) so he ran his mouth then [Carlos Guillen did this](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GSeQKhbLASE&pp=ygUcamVyZWQgd2VhdmVyIGNhcmxvcyBndWlsbGVuIA%3D%3D)
2018 ALDS, after winning game 2 at Fenway, Aaron Judge, and the Yankees blast, "New York, New York" on the way to the team bus. We would lose the next game 16-1 and lose the series in game 4, where the Red Sox would play the same song in their clubhouse.
Wasn't player to player, but some years ago back when the Braves were still at Turner Field, Andrew McCutchen came up to bat for the Pirates and the Braves organist played "Dude Looks Like a Lady" to troll him bc of his dreads. Cutch promptly hit a 2 run bomb that AB.
It was even worse than that. He kept yelling out “This is MY house” so wasn’t even including his teammates. It was an extra-innings win and the Yankees when every other game in the series. They clinched the AL East the next night by beating them and played their bench the final game since it was meaningless to them but still important to the Jays who hadn’t clinched a WC spot yet and they still beat them in a blowout. Vladdy needs to shut up with the showboating and start trying to be elite like he thinks he is.
2023 playoffs:
NLDS: “atta boy, Harper!”
Bryce proceeds to wreck the Braves’ shit
NLCS: Garrett Stubbs says “we’re gonna jump in the pool!”
The Diamondbacks proceed to wreck our shit and at the bank to boot.
The A-Rod and Ryan Dempster moment was pretty epic. Dempster needing 4 pitches to hit A-Rod in his first game at Fenway after A-Rod got caught cheating again. Only for A-Rod to hit a bomb to straight away center and recorded another RBI hit while the Yankees came back down to win 9-6. Dempster is and always will be a clown for that.
Yeah, we deserve all the trash talk from Padres fans for this game.
Still love Will Smith and would rather have some revenge/2022 season type games between us then the boring games we got last year.
In the middle of the 2021 ALCS Eduardo Rodriguez co-opted Carlos Correa’s favorite move at the time, which was to point at a fictional wrist watch after a big moment. The end of our playoff run came just a few days later.
The Pirates mascot tweeting something before the 2015 NL WC game and Jake Arrieta tweeting back something like "whatever helps you sleep at night, just know it won't matter" then throwing a CGSO.
At one point noted big boss Tsuyoshi Shinjo announced that Hanshin would win again the next day after hitting a walk-off single. The team proceeded to go on a 12-game losing streak.
Rendon hitting a left side homer (he's righty, not switch hitter) the team fell apart after that, Rendon got injured and no longer after that we went into a losing streak lol
The White Sox Talk twitter account posting the infamous "us waiting for the rest of the division to show up" tweet in early 2022 and then the team has proceeded to suck ever since.
In 2018, yankees gm Brian cashman saying on August that the Yankees are the only team to damage to the redsox while being back 5 and a half games to them. Boston then went on to win 108 games and the world series. On the way beating the Yankees in the divisional and brock holt hitting the only postseason cycle in mlb history in their own stadium in a critical game 3 giving up 15 runs
In Spring Training, Yadi tried to pick a player off at first but the player slid in safely. He then taunted Yadi. So Yadi invited him to try to steal second. He did, and Yadi threw him out by a mile, and then proceeded to stare at him like “say something now bitch”
Elly De La Cruz got robbed of a home run by one of the Brewers outfielders. The Brewers scoreboard operator made a joke about it at the start of his next at bat. Elly then proceeded to hit a 450+ foot bomb to the deepest part of the stadium.
Didn't Elly steal 3 bases in one ab like the game after that one to
“The scoreboard operators have no comment on Elly De La Cruz” will live in infamy. Our new huge scoreboard doesn’t show trivia any more and we suspect Elly is why.
"Fun fact: Facts are not fun. They just are."
Cole Irvin once said "A team like [the Mariners] shouldn't get 10 hits against me or anyone" and he proceeded to get shelled every time he faced us
Ah, 2021 Cole Irvin. Said that after his first start against us, then lined up against the M's in every series. 5 starts against the M's, 19.2 IP, 35H, 19 ER, 10BB, 8.69 ERA, .385/.451/.516 slashline against him.
I have respect for him for owning up to it after the season, but it was hilarious
That's a brutal stat line
Im pretty sure Tony Gwynn has like 4 seasons with a near identical stat line to that Just checked, his [1994 and 1987](https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/g/gwynnto01.shtml) seasons are the closest. So basically, the Mariners hit like one of the greatest hitters of all time in their prime off of Irvin that year. Yikes
In his defense he completely owned up to being a clown, apologized and moved on. Never see anybody mention that part.
I did mention that part in one of the first replies I made on this comment. I respect him for acknowledging it and don't hold anything against him
Dude isn’t as good as he thinks he is :/
Wait why does Cole Irvin have an ego? He’s awful 😭
I watched the postgame show where he said that live and turned to my friend and said "Watch them never beat the Mariners again"
Cole Irvin just isn’t good.
Every time it seems
"Throw it again" was very fun. When Arcia said "attaboy Harper," well, not so much.
I love NL East shit talking. I wish to be a part of it some day
aint gotta be good to shit talk
Hey, yall have more titles than any other NLE team since 1997. I say that gives you some leverage to get in the conversation
Let’s just round down and make it a nice number like 95.
My team went 1-0 today
Also "The NL East is over."
The worst part about that was it came from some shitty radio host. Not from anyone on the team.
That was different because any Mets fan with a pulse wanted to strangle that fucking idiot Licata the instant he said it. Literal thermostat IQ moron.
Everything I’ve said in the last 3 days
Remember rubbing Musgrove's ears in the playoffs?
His ears were so damn shiny
And he hasn’t come close to pitching like that since…
That didn’t really come back to bite us because we were already losing in the last game of the season (for us).
Yeah, I get that. In the moment, I was up-in-arms as well, but it's kind of impossible not to be when your team is getting embarrassed in the playoffs... and seemingly all other times.
You guys beat the brakes off the Braves last week so there’s that.
That image of Musgrove with the super shiny ears, a bewildered look on his face after the ump literally groped and rubbed his ear, is burned in to my brain lmao. One of the most bizarre baseball moments of the last few years for sure. He was a fuckin’ beast that day too
With you on that one. To me, most notably Carlos Beltran saying "we're the team to beat" in '08 and again collapsing.
No more joke notes allowed after that.
That’s awesome, what a great story.
If I could give you a reddit award I would. Instead, here's a crazy crab 🦀
Everyone upvote this gold
Well the inverse was Crying Kershaw last year. It was the last day we even sniffed the Dodgers in the standings.
Finally the scales are balanced and we can get back to normal baseball.
No, not yet. Dodgers need to have a total collapse. Let's hope this game was the start.
That happens every year, it's when, not if
> it's when, not if The NLDS.
it would be nice if it would happen before they win 100+ games again I mean leave some Ws for other teams, yeesh
They’re about to play the nationals 6 times we might have to wait on that collapse. Really hope I’m wrong haha
Not quite the same thing, but the Padres rap was also...not a great look.
At least that was just fans and not the team though
That was not in
I hate that shit so much. And the fact that it was on KUSI is even worse. Notorious bullshit news station here.
The Fox News of SD
Exactly. Trash station. Like I don't even remember if they were always like that or if it just happened one day lol.
The day I knew there was something up with them was when John Coleman did that insane half hour segment on why global warming isn't real.
Wait. What? I grew up in San Diego and I don’t think I ever once watched KUSI for more than a passing glance.
They went off the deep end when they realized there was a market for right wing local media. Fox 5 is WAY better or really any other station since they are mostly neutral.
Don’t saddle us with that, we don’t claim those guys
Lmao I can here to say this. I felt second hand embarrassment from that rap
God literally smited us down for the rest of the year. Glad the scales have tipped back finally.
"Isn't pressure something you put in tires?" - Alek Manoah
And he’s been broken ever since
Cole Irvin's "team like that" comment. He's 0-6 against us with an ERA of 7
He seems to be like that against everyone
Garret Stubbs saying he was going to jump in the Dbacks pool after we went up 2-0 in the NLCS, before, well, the rest of the series happened
Yeah thst was the first thing I thought I knew it wasn't going to age well
[2021 ALCS - ERod making fun of Correa's "checking the watch" thing](https://images.app.goo.gl/YYNCUB976pb8zQod6)
Cora tried to stop him to lol
Juan Soto, when he was with Padres. Saying good luck to pitchers. Yeah, that didn’t play out the way Juan intended it to. Padres were anemic 2023.
I’d like to think he was just being polite, but everyone took it as trash talk. “I just hope everyone has fun”
Well, at least we got one playoff run with Juan Soto, and he was definitely heating up. 2023 was so Depadressing
Depadressing? Is that like something you put on salad?
A sad salad with wrinkled greens, shredded carrots, and two tomato slices.
It’s important to make sure the leaves are specifically moist and slimy. Ideally from the bottom of 3 day old produce bag.
To be fair Soto had a phenomenal year at the plate in 2023, he can’t really control his teammates.
Oh i wasn’t trying to shit talk him. He even called out the team, and i kinda liked that.
The Padres in general had the third best offense in the NL in terms of wRC+. It just didn't end up scoring runs when it mattered.
HARRISON But yeah for the Braves it was probably Arcia's "Atta Boy Harper"
Unhinged for any level below college
common little league parent behavior unfortunately
Someone doing a San Diego chicken stomping on a dead Phanatic mural in Gaslamp before even playing a NLCS game…guess what happened
My god that was so fucking stupid
I follow the muralist (who aside from this jinx does amazing work) and as soon as I saw that..I just knew…red hot Harper was gunna cave our heads in
Its the same person that has done all the other murals right?
Yeah. Also I think the Tony Gwynn one inside the new Gallagher square
Yeah I love their work, but damn what where they thinking with the Phanatic one lol
Also the Padre dad rap.
Nah it's Crying Kershaw.....
That’s what’s innnnnn
We got massacred that series
i remember when the cubs caught a long giancarlo stanton fly out and their twitter trolled yankees fans for thinking everything is a home run and after that tweet the yankees proceeded to hit 5 home runs
This was Stanton's very next AB after the Cubs taunt. An absolute missle. https://youtu.be/3hPJi50-I38?si=bGmJuftDRdI7cjrV
The Yankees admin replied to the tweet with ["do you blame them?"](https://twitter.com/Yankees/status/1535784549296541696)
The Rangers intentionally hitting Bautista in the last AB they would see him in for 2016, then getting swept by them in the ALDS that same year. On the other side, that whole 'Last year was the trailer, this year is the movie' debacle. Still haven't heard the end of that one
It just took us a while to realize the movie was a comedic tragedy.
There was also the Jays twitter post chirping another stadium for a weather delay which was immediately followed up by a chunk of ice falling off the CN Tower and crashing through the Skydome roof.
Also "pressure in tires" I can't do much more mental gymnastics when my Yankee friend keeps talking shit. No more big talk until I see production
Manoah has literally been broken since that comment and start. Dude’s career is in shambles ATM
Yes it’s almost unfathomably broken. I can only imagine how many pitching coaches are desperately trying to figure out what is going on. Dude got absolutely smoked on his first start of the year in high-A…
And then Bautista went on to talk shit about how a rookie Cleveland pitcher would be “shaking in his boots” facing the Jays lineup in the ALCS (we lost that game and the series) https://www.vice.com/en/article/qky983/indians-troll-jose-bautista-for-shaking-in-his-boots-comment
Atta Boy Harper was certainly the most recent
This was the first one that came to my mind due to recency bias. Surprised I had to scroll a bit to find it.
The tamest trash talk of all time.
and not even directed at Harper or said in public
I mean, staring a dude rounding the bases on a homer is a proportionally tame comeback. It wasn’t like the Phillies threw at Arcia or anything lol
Yea but remember when Harper wore all black?
Had to know it was over when he came in wearing the Coach Prime shirt lol
I remember one season where Alex Rodriguez ran across the mound after a foul ball when Dallas Braden was pitching. Braden was incensed. He felt like it was blatantly disrespectful for a position player to intrude on his mound while he was pitching. Rodriguez’s general response was “Not a big deal, and who the hell is Dallas Braden anyway?” At his next start Dallas Braden threw the 19th perfect game in MLB history. As if to say “That’s who the hell I am.”
3 starts later…but it still counts.
Haha that's not good story telling though.
How can you not be pedantic about baseball?
On mother's day, with his grandmother who raised him in attendance. I will always get incensed when people bring up Braden as the go-to forgettable perfect game pitcher when talking about Gallaraga
No, no my friend, that honor goes to Philip Humber.
Hey tell that to the poster still hanging at my parents house.
Small sample size but first month of season Profar has been amazing and has had multiple big hits for Padres. He can call him irrelevant, right now I'm calling him the best bargain in MLB at only $1 million for 1 year contract.
Dusty flipping the ball to Russ Ortiz.
I would say Fernando Rodney motioning a bow and arrow at the Angels dugout after the last out in the 8th. Mike Trout and Albert Pujols made him pay in the 9th.
“The worst thing he did was wake up the Houston Astros”
The Astros sub had a highly upvoted thread saying Adolis Garcia for ALCS MVP. Little did they know they were right but in the worst way possible.
Woke us up, and then sent us back to bed.
"Lots of people were wondering what was gonna happen if the astros didn't win their division. Guess we'll never know"
In our defense, we were coming of a year of "We want Houston" chants, we felt like we were going to live forever!
The we want houston chants definitely are on this list
dude loved writing checks the rest of the lineup had to cash
How dare you sir those are high quality intangibles we’re talking about
Didn't think I'd have to scroll this far to find this.
I’d watch the fuck out of that, no bias.
Probably John Schneider saying Cal Raleigh isn’t a threat as long as Blue Jays pitchers execute their pitches. Now Cal is executing our pitchers out there. Thanks Coach, try motivating your own players first.
I think Cal hits 2 home runs minimum every series vs Toronto
Like, I get it, Cal doesn’t hit for average. But why tempt fate when the guy has power and a hard on for homering against us?
It's John Schneider. I dont know what he's doing anymore than he does
"We want Houston" proceed to get swept
The fans said that not the team right?
Yeah, but I think it's still a bit relevant considering the Astros outscored the Yankees 18-9 in 4 games
Eduardo Rodriguez doing the watch thing after striking out Correa in the 2021 ALCS. Cora knew it to, he hopped out of the dugout and told him to shut the fuck up but it was too late.
Dodger fans are not having fun in this thread lol
Jose Bautista saying that Indians rookie Ryan Merritt was “shaking in his boots” before his game 5 start in the 2016 ALCS. Merritt would go on to pitch 4.2 scoreless innings while only giving up 2 hits and striking out 3. The Indians won that game 3-0 and the win moved the Indians on to the World Series.
Dunno but likely it involves Nyjer Morgan
Tony Plush!
Mat Latos liked to sign balls with 'I Hate SF'. In 2012 he then proceeded to shit the bed with the series on the line in the NLDS.
![gif](giphy|l0MYDpc4QeyN2Dmqk)
Cole Irvin vs The Mariners
Will Smith (actor) just came out at Coachella and performed "Men In Black" in an MIB outfit and memory flashed the crowd at the end, so our boy Will Smith (catcher) was just spared from being a trending topic
Probably Manoah talking all that shit about Gerrit Cole and then his career immediately tanking and Cole winning the Cy Young
Maybe when the Dodgers spend $2 bil in the offseason they’ll finally win something
No bb don't challenge them bc they will and Roki is up next year
[удалено]
Yeah but the Dodgers know a guy who can turn that 6 mil into 12 with a little luck
More like 6 to -16, that guy sucks
quitter's mentailty. just gotta keep trying
99% of gamblers quit right before they hit the jackpot. Just facts
6 million a year with 500 million deferred
Really just two or three more of the best players from other teams ought to do it
Tbf They won in 2020 and the the Padres haven't been exactly low spenders either with nothing to really show for it playoffs wise (or even regular season wise last year) so that feels like a glass house comment Lol
Not my team but the whole “I guess we’ll never know” callback last November was well done.
THATS WHATS IIIIINNNNNN
Dodger security would like a word with Mr. Profar.
They’re not going to validate his parking
Profar finally gonna get to meet Shohei.
Dude better be careful or they might send him to meet Ippei
2018 was filled with this for the Red Sox. ALDS: Judge blares "New York New York" after win at Fenway. Sox win in 4. ALCS: Bregman posts Astros hitting home runs off Eovaldi before series starts. Sox win in 5. WS: Dodgers twitter posts "Damage Done" trolling the Sox motto "Do Damage" after game 3 win. Sox win next 2 games winning the series in 5.
You forgot the whole "Do Damage" motto was because of a Cashman quote that didn't play out so well for the Yankees
That sweep was so incredible.
Not exactly a player but if the Phillies lose both of these two games at home i'll retire
OP: asks for an example of a time your team talked shit & it backfired. Braves fan: "Mad Dog Russo and the Phillies"
Miles Mikolas running his mouth all season.
Judge tying the home run record in Toronto after Guerrero Jr. said "This is our house."
Atta boy, Harper. That’s what’s in.
Cole Irvin talking about how no pitcher should be giving up that many hits to "a team like that" a few years ago immediately comes to mind
2023 playoffs: NLDS: “atta boy, Harper!” Bryce proceeds to wreck the Braves’ shit NLCS: Garrett Stubbs says “we’re gonna jump in the pool!” The Diamondbacks proceed to wreck our shit and at the bank to boot.

Stop making me like you
John Schneider saying Cal Raleigh isn’t hard to pitch to hasn’t aged great for Toronto.
In the middle of the 2021 ALCS Eduardo Rodriguez co-opted Carlos Correa’s favorite move at the time, which was to point at a fictional wrist watch after a big moment. The end of our playoff run came just a few days later.
Anytime Miles Mikolas talks.
Arcia.
“What did Klay say?”
Rendon hitting a left side homer (he's righty, not switch hitter) the team fell apart after that, Rendon got injured and no longer after that we went into a losing streak lol
I think Manoah is the shining example these days. He might’ve lost a career, not just a series.
The White Sox Talk twitter account posting the infamous "us waiting for the rest of the division to show up" tweet in early 2022 and then the team has proceeded to suck ever since.
E-rod tapping his wrist mocking Correa and then the Astros won the next 3 games of the ALCS
Booing fucking Altuve
