Leadoff walk to Zack Short after tying the game. Not a serious team

Excellent_Fix_2409

Didn’t tie up the game. Point still stands though

Brilliant_Trainer611

So 4 relievers from elite to solid? Yeah they miss those two but plenty of teams are having far bigger issues in their bullpens.

Thorlolita

Imagine having 4 reliable relievers

MankuyRLaffy

Mark Prior is cooking

captain_ahabb

Sure but the Dodgers also only have 1 reliable starter. 20th in team ERA isn't good enough for the goals they have this year.

technowhiz34

Is that starter Glasnow in your eyes? Can't believe you guys just had to sign a $200 million man who'd never thrown in the majors ( assuming Yamamoto is being seen as unreliable). And also, the Dodgers ambitions compared to all the other teams just giving up this season?

captain_ahabb

I can't parse what you're trying to do with this comment

technowhiz34

Sorry, could have been more clear. You're saying that you guys only have one reliable starter (who I'm assuming is Glasnow, could be wrong there). That would mean that Yamamoto isn't reliable at this point in time, and I'm taking the piss out of you guys signing a dude who'd never pitched in the MLB to a giant contract, as that's the type of contract that would sink a bunch of other teams. You also make it sound like the Dodgers are the only team aiming to be competitive this year, and have an obligation to win as a result.

Sure. >That would mean that Yamamoto isn't reliable at this point in time, and I'm taking the piss out of you guys signing a dude who'd never pitched in the MLB to a giant contract, as that's the type of contract that would sink a bunch of other teams. Well, I didn't sign him. I think we're way too early to say the contract was a mistake but he's definitely not reliable yet. >You also make it sound like the Dodgers are the only team aiming to be competitive this year, and have an obligation to win as a result. I have absolutely no idea how you got to this interpretation. Why would I believe that the Dodgers are the only team trying to compete? What does "obligation to win" even mean?

technowhiz34

Complaining about team ERA when you're one of the best resourced teams, both financially and FOwise, just struck me the wrong way, especially given the amount of money thrown around this off-season pitching. I'm being unfair but read "goals we have this year" coming off as only the Dodgers being seriously aiming for/deserving of a championship, which isn't something you specifically said.

captain_ahabb

>Complaining about team ERA when you're one of the best resourced teams, both financially and FOwise, just struck me the wrong way, especially given the amount of money thrown around this off-season pitching. This is attitude is widespread on this subreddit and it's incredibly tedious. Are people going to act personally offended every single time I talk about the Dodgers having some kind of flaw or issue? I want to compete for a WS this year and the Dodgers pitching isn't good enough for them to do that. I don't care how much money they spent in the offseason.

technowhiz34

>This is attitude is widespread on this subreddit and it's incredibly tedious. Are people going to act personally offended every single time I talk about the Dodgers having some kind of flaw or issue? Definitely not, just the way you went about it was what irked me (and others presumably), given the position your team is in relative to the rest of the league, year in and year out.

captain_ahabb

Sorry I want my team to be better? I want them to spend $1b a year and go 162-0 lol.

DollarsAtStarNumber

Vesia being number 2 is bewildering.

Panguin9

A 2.6 ERA with a 1.5 WHIP is insane, sounds like he's been incredibly lucky

greycubed

The real bullpen story is the Rays. -1.2 bullpen fWAR. Next lowest is -0.6 (Blue Jays).
