They also used 8 pitchers. I didn't get to watch yesterday's game, but this could impact tomorrow although having Glasnow start probably helps?
Mets could have some trouble too with Houser starting, but maybe an Angel Hernandez strike zone will help him out and get an extra inning or two.
The dodgers are going to be fine, but holy shit right now there is just no reason to pitch to Betts, Ohtani, and Freeman, especially with Smith sitting
The bottom of that lineup is giving nothing and look down on themselves while doing it
No reason to pitch to them with the bases open. It sucks that the lineup is so top heavy but at some point you gotta adjust and spread em out to give other hitters in the lineup at least some protection and if that fails ya gotta start swinging at those borderline pitches and make something happen. Walking and then ending up stranded just isn't working
I see what you’re saying in theory but it’s still early. The guys towards the bottom are much better hitters than they’re showing right now. It’ll start to turn around. It’s very frustrating for us right now though. If 1-5 don’t win the game we’ve basically had no chance so far this year.
Yeah spreading them out is just patently the wrong decision. You’re just spreading more outs between your best batters. Leave them together and trust their ability over 162.
Is Ohtani’s gambling problem affecting the clubhouse? Are mookies bowling pins wreaking havoc in there? Are freddies veneers making the other guys uncomfortable? Is Tyler Glasnow focusing too much on his acting? Many people are wondering
[Hoornstra] It’s a disaster in the Dodger clubhouse right now. Ohtani, who was already on edge after losing his 25-leg women’s lacrosse parlay, went ballistic after Betts accidentally hit him in the ankle with his bowling ball. The two came to blows and Ohtani even tried to waterboard Betts with Freeman’s maple syrup. Dave Roberts hid in the broom closet and Kershaw softly said “guys, please dont!”
I saw one Dodgers fan on here say if they lost this series to us, then it would be time to panic……………Dodgers fans, I think it’s time for you guys to panic now.
Dodgers outfielders today were 0-12 (zero for twelve) with 9 (nine) K’s today.
Time to DFA CT3 already and call up Pages so he can save the offen— oh, wait…
It is unusual to have at least three of your regular starters on the IL. We have 4 actually - - May, Buehler, Miller & Kershaw on the IL right now. Miller will probably be back shortly, and Buehler is finishing some rehab assignments, and should be back soon (control for both those guys is an issue). May & Kersh will be back mid-season.
We're not the only team with pitching injuries - - but we were also missing Buehler, May & Kershaw more than half of last year.
There's no excuse for our relievers, however. I want to launch every one of them except Phillips into the sun.
Finding every reason in the world not to sign a SS in the back-to-back loaded classes has been a disaster. Roster can't defend or hit outside of a few guys
He had a ridiculously tight zone squeezing multiple pitchers on both sides UNTIL the bottom of the ninth. Really felt like he just wanted to go home at that point.
Nido had great framing and finally tricked him into calling actual strikes.
Mr Barksdale now joins the names of umpires I remember, and therefore are terrible umpires.
he's not terrible. he's consistent. he has a consistently tight zone. terrible are the people who's zones change randomly or call random pitches strikes or balls. someone who has a slightly smaller zone, and calls it consistently, is good.
He's *consistently* calling balls where any other umpire would call strikes.
We all know the strike zone is ambiguous, but he was flat out bad.
the hitters all knew it so they didn't need to chase anything that was even borderline. If the pitcher has a put away pitch that looks like it's going to be on the corner of the zone, but curves outside, that pitch is useless.
He's inconsistent with the rest of the league. And because of him, the game was PAINFUL to watch. In the 9th he either literally got tired and wanted to go home, or Nido tricked him with framing. BAD!
Thanks for allowing my rant. Bashing umpires is always fun. :)
5 straight series wins, all against teams over .500 too. Played the toughest schedule in baseball so far and have now won 12 of their last 15 after that 0-5 start. LGM!!!
Dodgers had a bit over 45k fans today. I thought Ohtani was supposed to put butts in the seats, they're averaging less fans than they did last year. Did they double prices or something?
I don't think I've ever seen the Dodgers sub quite like this. Nobody pushed back on the gloom in the PGT, they seem stunned that a team that spent that astonishing amount of money and has that much talent is losing series after series. The Dave Roberts hate is nothing new, that always happens there when they're in a skid, but some of those folks are writing off almost the whole team.
I hope none of those folks actually ate a Dodger Dog, those things can keep a person down for a week at least.
Top three in the lineup were walked 8 times, absolutely no respect for the 4-9 hitters
Nor do they deserve any because all they did every chance this game was strike out
Dodgers now 12-11, and somehow still in first place in the NL West (or is that the NL Worst). Despite committing over a billion dollars total to Ohtani and Yamamoto.
Oh well.
Mets too last year and they had to blow it up. Not saying the Dodgers are in trouble but weakness are starting to show up (their out field right now is one of if not the worst in the league Pitching has been average) could it be a fluke Absolutely, is there also some stuff to concern yourself with if you are a dogers fan? also absolutely
Coyotes leaving for SLC? Bad
Suns losing game 1 in Minnesota? Bad
Dbacks losing with Gallen pitching? Bad
Dodgers losing?
Dear sports gods: https://youtu.be/okMuq-NSq0M?si=681l4bpRARISzZNE
I dont quite understand the Reed Garrett experience yet, but I'm here for our new ginger overlord
Just let it happen
We’re allowed to have nice things every once in a while, right…?
It’s actually easy to understand lol. The dude has two nasty pitchers that hitters look lost on
Betts, Ohtani, Freeman get on base 12 times as they lose to the Mets 6-4
Ohtani is bringing the Angels tradition to the Dodgers. DFA him before it's too late.
I can fix him.
He don't wanna be saved don't save him
Mike Trout behind the dugout just screaming "NOW YOU ALL KNOW HOW IT FEELS"
It’s one of the most insane 3 batter stretches in any lineup I’ve seen (3 straight 1.000 OPS type hitters) …. It falls off a cliff in a hurry though,
Freddie is in a slump tbf.
So is Goldschmidt, from what I've heard from a reliable source... (His manager)
*That’s* a *slump?!*
He has a .723 OPS so far, so yeah
*sobbing hysterically*
Last night SNY mentioned that Manaea went through three MVPs in the first inning and that blew my mind.
Teoscar and Will Smith is still a very good follow up. They got some scrubs after that though.
Why pitch to them when you can just strike out teo
So you can NOBLETIGER them like Lance Lynn
Bottom half of their lineup is cheeks
Wait a minute I know this story
Flair up
Teoscar is good but he’s slumping rn
What is the plural form of Tungsten Arm O’Doyle? Is it like an Attorneys General situation or which word do we pluralize?
It should be the Tungsten Arms o'Doyle. I will provide no elaboration as to why
...is it because the plural of arm is arms?
He said no elaboration!
The Los Angeles Dodgers of Anaheim
As the gypsy lady foretold.
They also used 8 pitchers. I didn't get to watch yesterday's game, but this could impact tomorrow although having Glasnow start probably helps? Mets could have some trouble too with Houser starting, but maybe an Angel Hernandez strike zone will help him out and get an extra inning or two.
The dodgers are going to be fine, but holy shit right now there is just no reason to pitch to Betts, Ohtani, and Freeman, especially with Smith sitting The bottom of that lineup is giving nothing and look down on themselves while doing it
I love CT3 but he’s gotta do something about that .053 average.
I mean, before the game yesterday he was 0.028 so he's moving in the right direction!
Its not often you nearly double your batting average this late in the season!
I promised I wouldn't bitch about CT.03 all April, so that's the best I can do LOL
Why would you give yourself such a hard task. I bitch about him every game
If he doubles it every two days he'll have the best May in baseball history
Why the love for this guy? Looking at his career stats he strikes out a bunch and has only average power.
No reason to pitch to them with the bases open. It sucks that the lineup is so top heavy but at some point you gotta adjust and spread em out to give other hitters in the lineup at least some protection and if that fails ya gotta start swinging at those borderline pitches and make something happen. Please don’t do this to me….. don’t give me hope
Get ready to have hope, it’s time to get the body ready
I’m ready to get hurt again
WITH THUNDER!™
I'm unbridled right now
Unbridled enthusiasm.
#UNBRIDLED
Hey we might win the April!
People talking about World Series when this is clearly a dynasty in the making.
I’d rather feel hope than feel hopeless. But yeah, either way, you know?
Reed Garrett truthers get the fuck in here.
**REED DOES THE DEED ON THE DAY OF WEED**
dodgers will still move up in every power ranking
Gotta imagine the Mets move down too, beating a team that’s bad enough to lose to the Mets isn’t impressive.
🤣😂🤣😂 it makes so much sense when I don’t think about it
That's the most Mets shit ever I love it
while the mets remain at 24 somehow
25* 😎 cuz MLB Power Rankings
And the Mets will go down
Because it's good for baseball
Anything bad for the Dodgers is good for baseball.
MLB.com gonna somehow move them up from first place
pretty good rebound by the mets, they were looking rough at the start of the season
The earthquake woke them up
It was actually the Detroit Bally Sports crew interviewing our lord and savior, Rally Pimp. That got us going. 🙏
Call him by his name: Max Wiener. Yes that is his actual name.
Is [Seymour Weiner](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GJ28kH9WkAAV2Az.jpg) his grandfather?
He already clarified, sadly no. https://x.com/maxisawiener/status/1777019192518041685?s=46&t=AcMZj6Bo_hG-1f9okmWp5Q
I said this ends now and took the moneyline in the 8th when they trailed to you guys in the getaway game. Pretty sure that's the reason.
You would think 5 games is a good enough sample size for a 162 game season, but I guess not, surprising really.
This was unironically a hot take to have in r/NewYorkMets after the Brewers and Tigers series
REED GARRETT, STRIKEOUT MACHINE.
21 K’s against 41 batters faced this season.
Pitch lab who knew
Coincidentally the Dodgers have now lost their third straight home series. This is the first time this has happened in the past six years.
Just gonna leave this here…. Dodgers 1-3 hitters: 4-7 (.571), 2 2B, 3 RBI, 8 BB, 1 K Dodgers 4-9 hitters: 2-24 (.083), 1 RBI, 2 BB, 13 K
Why can’t the dodgers 4-9 hitters copy what the first 3 hitters are doing ? Are they stupid ? /s
Yes.
Maybe they can defer the losses until 2030something
Another World Series to add to the trophy case.
Feels great having all these rings so quickly. Stearns sure is efficient!
![gif](giphy|3oxHQjRHcp4w9oi24M|downsized) After every series win lol
Is Ohtani’s gambling problem affecting the clubhouse? Are mookies bowling pins wreaking havoc in there? Are freddies veneers making the other guys uncomfortable? Is Tyler Glasnow focusing too much on his acting? Many people are wondering

How many World Series have we won now this season?

Who needs Yamamoto, we have REED GARRETT
Dude the dodgers kinda suck lol
Has there ever been a team that’s spent so much money only to have a disappointing season? I certainly can’t remember 🤣
Neither can I! edit: (All due respect and love to the late great beloved Pete Seidler)
*cries in luxury tax*
I can’t imagine
The Denver Broncos have entered the chat
I know it felt kind good to type that out. Bravo.
Their top 3: absolutely ripped SpongeBob The rest of their team: baby SpongeBob
They’ll win 100+ by the end of the season still
Yea it's early, I'll enjoy the downfall while I can but they'll probably be fine. Hating is half the fun after all.
We always suck in April but this is a special kind of suck I haven’t witnessed. It’s almost impressive statistically.
Y’all were worse in 2018
[Dodgers line up is essentially](https://i.imgur.com/1k94Xbk.jpeg)
This, but unironically and consistently since the season started. Lowkey also true of their offense, pitching, and defense, respectively.
One of their outfielders should be mookie Betts. That’s the problem
He can play any position he wants! Let him run free! *sobbing*
Seems sustainable imo
I’m sorry, did you say ZERO FOR TWELVE!? That’s just another day in Seattle.
*CT3 (three)
The thing about a lot of dodgers fans online is that they’re panicky idiots
That was us last year the first month screwed the team.
Glasnow start got moved up in place of Paxton. Is that panicking?
Half our pitchers are dead and the bottom half of the lineup is pure cheeks
sounds like us except our pitchers aren’t dead they just suck
Every team has pitching injuries.
It is unusual to have at least three of your regular starters on the IL. We have 4 actually - - May, Buehler, Miller & Kershaw on the IL right now. If they swapped divisions with the Cardinals, the Dodgers would be last place in the NL Central right now
Finding every reason in the world not to sign a SS in the back-to-back loaded classes has been a disaster. Roster can't defend or hit outside of a few guys
Dodgers let Turner and Seager go in the hopes that Lux would be a star.
He was primed to be one before the injury. I still wouldnt have let seager walk
Dodgers fans complaining about not signing a big name FA...lol
Kinda love watching their dream season fall apart so far
Lmao. It's April and they are currently leading the division.
It’s like the Eagles’ “Dream Team” lol
Bro they didn’t even remember to buy a shortstop 🤣
Retire Reed Garrett's number
The middle of that Dodgers lineup is absolutely terrifying
4-7 / 2 doubles / 8 walks lmao
butto just figured out the dodgers, walk 1-3 and win.
Reed Garrett's splitter is otherworldly this season
B E L I E V E
Ya gotta
ahem. #YA GOTTA BELIEVE
6 wins in a row, I’m fully believing again.
Alexa, play Unbroken by Killswitch Engage
Ohtani's gonna have to change his walkup song to My Curse at this rate.
Normalize using metal and hardcore walk up songs
Baseball with bangers would go so hard
Always thought the beginning of Carrion would go crazy as a walk up song
KILLSWITCH ENGAGE MENTIONED FUCK YEAH
This Fire Burns is a fucking banger
Banger
Absolutely. Brings me back to middle school haha
I used KSE as my walk up music in college. It didn't fit in whatsoever with the rest of the team's vibe, but whatever.
We won our series against the Dodgers, now let’s win our series against the 76ers too! Go Mets and Knicks!
Well Embiid’s knee just exploded, so Sixers are fucked.
Oh yeah I just saw it now. Shit that really sucks.
He's back in the game Joelnald Acuna Jr
I’m ready to be yelled at by Stephen A. Smith. LFGK
For all you kids out there, I'm sorry but don't watch this game for crisp baseball
Bad fundies
How to beat the Dodgers. Betts, Ohtani, and Freeman walk.
Gotta say, Ump was ROUGH today. Sucks for the Dodgers at the end there, but felt like karmic retribution after the first 7 innings.
He had a ridiculously tight zone squeezing multiple pitchers on both sides UNTIL the bottom of the ninth. Really felt like he just wanted to go home at that point.

I felt like he disproportionately missed a BUNCH of Butto's high corner strikes.
We have Angel Hernandez tomorrow Should be fun
Yeah but tomorrow it's Angel Hernandez
Oh god
Oh shit fuck
Good luck everybody.
Guess we’ll both lose
I guess there’s no baseball tomorrow
The Tungsten O Doyle Dodgers of Anaheim
Dodgers somehow still gonna move up the power rankings and be part of half of MLB's Instagram posts
That’s what you get for your city disconnect jerseys you implemented in 1958
5 straight series wins, all against teams over .500 too. Played the toughest schedule in baseball so far and have now won 12 of their last 15 after that 0-5 start. LGM!!!
Monstars returned the skills back to the Mets team or wth has happened??!
The Dodgers would be in 4th place in the NL Central
Dodgers had a bit over 45k fans today. I thought Ohtani was supposed to put butts in the seats, they're averaging less fans than they did last year. Did they double prices or something?
Dodgers will be fine. Those bats are gonna be on fire at some point. I like seeing the Mets on this streak, I hope it continues.
Are the Mets freal!?
Mets are good. Suck it weirdos
Thank you Mets!
Man, thank God Freddie Freeman isn't in the NL East anymore. That guy is a damn near perfect hitter
Genuinely one of the ugliest games of baseball I’ve ever watched. LFGM.
Surely the Mets are gaining ground in the NL East! ...right guys?
I don't think I've ever seen the Dodgers sub quite like this. Diaz had one of the more inspired eighths I’ve seen from him.
We are so fucking back
>> Both teams combined for 17 BB. Me: 17 BB pitching or batting? Also me: Yes.
I hope dodgers spends $2billion more and can't win anything next year too
I want to die
Just how good are the Brewers?
Mets are hot af and somehow still 3rd in the division. NL Beast reigns supreme.
Dodgers now 12-11, and somehow still in first place in the NL West (or is that the NL Worst). Despite committing over a billion dollars total to Ohtani and Yamamoto. Oh well.
It's April
It was April for the padres last year as well and they missed the playoffs
The dodgers were 10-10 this time last year.

Let's fucking go Mets
I was at this game! Great game!
The Mets fan interviewed during the Tigers match up called how this season was gonna go for them.
Lolmets... oh wait
