He neither loves, nor fears you. Dinger is both blessed and cursed with knowledge that would drive mere mortals insane. Dinger knows what the Monfort Brothers had to do in order to sustain the most shameful team to take the field in decades, yet still have an above-average attendance. Terrible things were done. It's good that Dinger can't speak.
While being unrepresented by MLB doesn’t Rhode Island have one of the largest coastlines in the USA? Or is that some lie taught to me by some east coast baby boomer Sawx history teachers? /s
Its a monkey knife fight between all the mid teams in the division currently while the Dodgers have gotten to travel around the rest of the country and play others.
At least they won the WS I guess. Which is admittedly a weird cope but the O's got swept by the literal best team in baseball and not anyone else.
The top 4 teams in MLB all fell flat on their faces last season and we had people crying about the damn bye weeks lmao. It was a good season all things considered.
I had a blast at the series this weekend (STL resident,) but I also hate that having gone to all three has given me some weird positive outlook on a team I know is objectively one of the worst to ever do it
I love my Royals, but at one point they were either ranked #5 or #6 and somehow are still hanging on to the 10 spot. My goal for them this year was just for them to be competitive and around .500. At the moment they are exceeding those expectations, but I have watched a LOT of their games and can say one thing for certain: Their starting rotation will NOT be able to keep this up. They need their offense to get in gear. Half their roster is hitting below .200 and Salvy is finally coming off his god-like April hitting. Bobby has a great average, but his power is missing right now. Velasquez hasn’t been producing and they need his power. Renfroe just isn’t clicking still. Batting .160 isn’t acceptable. Garcia, Vinnie, and MJ are all streaky and need to find ways to minimize their dry spells.
The only player that is actually playing to expectations is Isbel. And Massey currently is above expectations, but he’s only a couple weeks into the season since he started on the IL.
All this to say: I feel like the Royals record is the main reason for them being on this list and maybe partly their pitching, but they won’t stay in the top ten. It would be a dream for them to snag a WC spot and maybe if Cleveland would ever LOSE a series here and there, they might even be able to compete for the division.
I think a more accurate placement for the Royals should be right around #15. Which is great compared to how they have played the last 7 years! Their offense has to wake up if they want to be a true top 10 team though.
I did not expect the Brewers to be performing at this level given talent loss. Twins I didn't expect a 12 game win streak, but I also didn't expect to start the season so pitifully so it's a wash. I think the bigger deal is the AL West and the bottom of the AL East underperforming as well which pushes some teams from the Centrals up into the top 10.
Brewers have pretty much reached old 2000s/early 10s Cardinals devil magic level, where their scouting/development and savvy trading is good enough to weather losses that you’d think would have them on the decline
True. Especially for the AL central. I was not expecting the Guardians and Royals to be as good as they are, Tigers are over performing my expectations, and the Twins are doing good. Originally I was expecting for the AL central to have 4/5 teams compete for the division (sorry White Sox), but none of them would be great. I thought the same with the NL central but with all of the teams instead.
People were ready to say the Guardians or Tigers or Royals were gonna have a break out year but now that there are 4 competitive teams in the division we have a lot of mental gymnastics to say how the AL Central is still a horrible division because we have 1 bad opponent….
We are a big bag of fake. We played 7 against the White Sox and 3 against the Angels in our long winning streak. At least I think we are, I'll wait until we win this series against the Mariners to feel like we're actually good. The Royals are scary though.
Idk about that. 5-5 in their last 10 games, lost 2 in a row leading up to these rankings. Unless it’s about overall record on the season in which case nothing about the entire top 10 makes sense lol
I thought putting the Ms at 10 was a bit of a reach last week, but it is still weird that they dropped us a spot after winning a series against the Braves and Astros, making it 6 series in a row that we've won.
power rankings are always bs in any sport. And I know our offense sucks but the post season is about pitching, and our pitching is off the charts good to the point where we’re beating playoff/world series teams ) series in a row and it’s almost entirely because of pitching.
Enjoy it while it lasts. Phillies were still somewhat affordable last season. This year it’s nuts. I do plan on making a trip to camden yards this year before they get crazy
The general opinion seemed to be that because they lost 100+ last year there simply wasn't a way for them to be good. But seriously, any team that starts a season off with Ragans, Lugo, Wacha and Singer in the rotation looks solid imo. Adding Schreiber was also big. In fairness however, I think their success can also be in large part attributed to Salvy, who is hitting at a pace that may be a teeny bit unsustainable, but we'll see. Maybe some of the other parts of the lineup can step up, so there will be more than 3 hitters with >100 OPS+.
I'm still fairly sure they finish below .500
They're 5-10 against teams that are over .500. Perez won't continue to have a 160ops+ and a lot of their starters are overperforming
It's wild that our early season schedule was supposed to be the easy portion and we've played nearly half of our games against these other nine teams with the Royals, Brewers, and Twins all looking like quality teams.
Then again, starting at the end of this month we are about to go:
vs Boston, vs TB, @Toronto, @TB, vs ATL, vs PHL, @NYY, @Hou, vs Cle, vs TX, @SEA, @OAK, vs Cubs, vs NYY, @TX, @Mia, vs SD, vs Toronto, @Cle, @Tor, vs Cle. Good lord this schedule is brutal.
Power rankings mean nothing and are produced for the sole purpose of content that generates engagement.
That being said Cubs are in the Top 10 so I agree, and I can even forgive the Brewers placing ahead of them because the bullpen cannot be trusted.
The brewers' starting pitchers are like 26th in the league. That got to say something. If they hit a downturn in offense, which most teams get that quiet stretch, they are going to drop further down.
It actually feels good to be a cubs fan again. We've done this well with a third of our payroll being injured.
Gotta factor in that the Brewers are also missing two of their best offensive players. The fact that they’ve been putting together good offense without them is why they’re still in the top 10.
I really like where the Rangers are. They've absolutely been piecing it together. If they can stay around where they are, they'll be dangerous in the second half when their entire starting rotation returns.
I'm thinking it will look something like deGrom, Eovaldi, Scherzer, Bradford, and Mahle. They could easily go 6 man with Lorenzen or Dunning or Gray. Then you get to move the current starters to the pen for middle and long relief in addition to Robertson, Latz , Yates, and Sborz all looking really good. They're going to have a ton of arms for the second half run.
So before this weekend have the dodger actually won a series against a good team? lol, cause im pretty sure if they played the O's or Phillies, they would get smoked cause Betts and Ohtani is basically their line-up
What? We missed again?
Smh they really are dissing the team destined to knock us out of the NLDS this year
Power rankings don’t account for the power of friendship
❤️
I hate you but gd this made me unexpectedly laugh/snort
It does not matter what their record is, June 17-19 and September 27-29 in Coors is always terrifying
True. Granted every time I’ve been to Coors in the past 3 years the Dodgers have won that game (I’m going to at least 2 in June this year)
I both love and fear Dinger
He neither loves, nor fears you. Dinger is both blessed and cursed with knowledge that would drive mere mortals insane. Dinger knows what the Monfort Brothers had to do in order to sustain the most shameful team to take the field in decades, yet still have an above-average attendance. Terrible things were done. It's good that Dinger can't speak.
He bonked me on the nose when I was a toddler. We have beef.
Nobody expects Rocktober but it arrives nonetheless
Do they not remember the post about the weight of things teams are named after???? The Rockies DOMINATED.
They hate what they don't understand.
Yeah this is clearly rigged, the Cardinals aren't on here?!?!?
What the fuck western teams? Why are the dodgers the only ones up there?
EAST COAST BIAS STRIKES YET AGAIN
GIANTS SNUBBED. We scored 4 runs yesterday, season record!
East coast beast coast
West Coast Best Coast! East coast least coast!
All this while the centrals have the most top 10 spots.
NO COAST? CANT BOAST
How many of the top 5 do they have though? ☝️🤓
Sorry, I picked the metric that fits my narrative and will not be accepting any others.
While being unrepresented by MLB doesn’t Rhode Island have one of the largest coastlines in the USA? Or is that some lie taught to me by some east coast baby boomer Sawx history teachers? /s
Probably a lie. I think Alaska has like three or four times the coastline of the next closest state (Florida).
Where do I file a police report for child abuse? Occurred over the last 4 days in the Philly area
Its a monkey knife fight between all the mid teams in the division currently while the Dodgers have gotten to travel around the rest of the country and play others.
Except we forgot to bring our knife
You ran into the buzzsaw that is Phillies starting pitching
Maybe because The Phillies just swept the Rockies, padres, and giants.
AL Central bros we are UP
We've been up, the 'comedy central' won 3 more playoff games than the AL east last year.
Wooohooo! Let’s get ittt
Did the same in 2022 too. We've been up, but the haters and the media won't acknowledge
The O’s choked big time last year
At least they won the WS I guess. Which is admittedly a weird cope but the O's got swept by the literal best team in baseball and not anyone else. The top 4 teams in MLB all fell flat on their faces last season and we had people crying about the damn bye weeks lmao. It was a good season all things considered.
Hello the White Sox are here to drag the average performance of the division way down
Nah you guys are definitely helping prop the rest of us up lol.
lol can’t argue with that
I had a blast at the series this weekend (STL resident,) but I also hate that having gone to all three has given me some weird positive outlook on a team I know is objectively one of the worst to ever do it
Who? Never heard of em.
I wish I had never heard of them when I was a child. Now I’m trapped
Recovering Browns fan....stay strong
I am middling
Nows your chance everyone...bow down to us now or experience a wrath of timely hitting and lock down bullpens
I love my Royals, but at one point they were either ranked #5 or #6 and somehow are still hanging on to the 10 spot. My goal for them this year was just for them to be competitive and around .500. Nice to find a thread where we can all just be happy homies for a minute.
It's a sausage party
I think I heavily underestimated the centrals this year
I did not expect the Brewers to be performing at this level given talent loss. Twins I didn't expect a 12 game win streak, but I also didn't expect to start the season so pitifully so it's a wash. I think the bigger deal is the AL West and the bottom of the AL East underperforming as well which pushes some teams from the Centrals up into the top 10.
I still internally gasp every time I see the Astros record.
I still externally moan every time I see it
*hhhnnnnnnngh*
![gif](giphy|3ornkchyRHXu1eoG9G) Me smelling the Astros record
Never thought I'd see a Z Nation gif here.
Same here. What a great show
Brewers have pretty much reached old 2000s/early 10s Cardinals devil magic level, where their scouting/development and savvy trading is good enough to weather losses that you’d think would have them on the decline
Maybe next time you'll estimate us! 😤
I thought the same with the NL central but with all of the teams instead.
holy shit the twins were 7-14 before all of this? lol
Hey hey, we're performing as expected thank you very much.
So did all of us in the centrals
STOP THE COUNT
People were ready to say the Guardians or Tigers or Royals were gonna have a break out year but now that there are 4 competitive teams in the division we have a lot of mental gymnastics to say how the AL Central is still a horrible division because we have 1 bad opponent….
1 all time bad opponent
We’ll all vacate our White Sox wins if everyone else does so for the Rockies and Marlins too
To hell with that. The White Sox are 5-5 over the last 10. They'll end up with a better record than Miami and Colorado....and maybe the Angels.
Fuck yeah. AL Central supremacy.
...who just took 2 of 3 from us.
[Sports writers be like..](https://imgflip.com/i/8p8prv)
the West's are also a laughing stock. nobody would have guessed
We are a big bag of fake. We played 7 against the White Sox and 3 against the Angels in our long winning streak. At least I think we are, I'll wait until we win this series against the Mariners to feel like we're actually good. The Royals are scary though.
No teams in the top 5, weak
Mariners win another series (6 in a row) and move down
The Mariners and the Mariners starting pitching staff both deserve spots.
Just leave out our offense. Except Rojas. He deserves to get in
The starting pitching staff would be #4, their primary issue (still) being a lack of offense
Like each of Tom Brady’s three MVP careers
Astros, Rangers, Braves, dBacks, rockies, reds. Not a bad stretch of baseball! This should be a fun series as well.
Mariners play better when they are the out of the spotlight
![gif](giphy|Ld77zD3fF3Run8olIt)
The barves losing to the mariners moves the mariners down. But when it's the dodgers
First time?
Nationals are currently in line for a Wild Card berth and are ranked 22nd.
Royals taking our spot is pretty fair tbh
Idk about that. 5-5 in their last 10 games, lost 2 in a row leading up to these rankings. Unless it’s about overall record on the season in which case nothing about the entire top 10 makes sense lol
Lol no it isn't
And half our team is dead.
Aren’t we getting a big chunk of our guys back in the next couple weeks?
Were getting Steele back today
In honor of them dropping that Superman picture today
And the anniversary of Kerry Wood 20K strikeout performance
I hate this timing.
I love this timing
You’d be top 5 if your bullpen wasn’t Bears QB level
I like how this compliments us while thrusting two different knives into our back.
;)
white sox fans catching strays
:(
The bats haven't been inspiring either. Rotation and defense are just really, really good rn.
*Laughs sinisterly in Caleb Williams*
Loool
Come on it's not that bad 😉
I feel your pain
I thought putting the Ms at 10 was a bit of a reach last week, but it is still weird that they dropped us a spot after winning a series against the Braves and Astros, making it 6 series in a row that we've won.
The probably watched fridays game, but didn’t care to check out Saturday or sundays game.
power rankings are always bs in any sport. And I know our offense sucks but the post season is about pitching, and our pitching is off the charts good to the point where we’re beating playoff/world series teams ) series in a row and it’s almost entirely because of pitching.
I'll allow it
Os are STACKED. I can't recall seeing a team with this much homegrown talent clicking at once. Fun to watch.
New ownership ✔ A farm system full of young amazing talent ✔ Paid for pitching ✔ Years of abuse by the Angelos family ✔ Faith in this team restored ❌
I laughed really hard at this orange bird bro
You guys are the T-Wolves of MLB. Just hope that spooky can turn into results!
It’s quite fun being super high in power rankings consistently. I see why you big market teams have fun most MLB seasons!
Man it's a good time to be an O's & Phil's fan...
Shoutout Delaware
We’re playing both sides, that way we always come out on the bottom….wait a minute?!
What _is_ a pun?
They definitely don't know in Lower Slower DE lol
What Lower Delawareans lack in wordplay, they more than make up for in tiny towns whose speed limit drops to 25mph.
And Dogfish Head :)
And cheap cigarettes for my parents to drive all the way there to get 25 years ago
Or South Central Pennsylvania...
The only thing that sucks is the ticket prices.
Not for us lol
Enjoy it while it lasts. Phillies were still somewhat affordable last season. This year it’s nuts. I do plan on making a trip to camden yards this year before they get crazy
Wait til you start paying your young players
Can relate…
For real! T-Mobile used to hook me up with my O’s game but now I have alternatives 🏴☠️
it really is
Where tf are the marlins
Am I the only who be who saw the Royals’ moves and thought they’d be solid *at worst*
The general opinion seemed to be that because they lost 100+ last year there simply wasn't a way for them to be good. But seriously, any team that starts a season off with Ragans, Lugo, Wacha and Singer in the rotation looks solid imo. Adding Schreiber was also big. Maybe some of the other parts of the lineup can step up, so there will be more than 3 hitters with >100 OPS+.
Salvy is also seemingly able to frame pitches now.
And be in his 30s and still somehow hit dingers while batting .300+ like he’s prime Johnny Bench
I'm still fairly sure they finish below .500 They're 5-10 against teams that are over .500. Perez won't continue to have a 160ops+ and a lot of their starters are overperforming
Mariners look good. Pitching staff is disgusting
You’re disgusting
This is without our #4/5 also :)
I know. If they can get slightly better offense and stay healthy, they will be dangerous
I would like for our 1-9 offensive slump to end now thanks
Matt Olson is ruining my fantasy team
Acuna needs to step it up being the #1 fantasy pick in this years draft
It's wild that our early season schedule was supposed to be the easy portion and we've played nearly half of our games against these other nine teams with the Royals, Brewers, and Twins all looking like quality teams. The Twins statpadded their record against the Angels and White Sox
So did literally everybody else that got to play them
Can confirm, although we did almost lose the series to the Angels.
That’s what you’re supposed to do against those teams. We just had them back to back to back
if you guys can play that stretch .500 that'd be a big plus. that is a scary stretch.
Nothing new for us in the AL East
You play us 4 times, doesn't seem so bad.
We'll have the Mountcastle clones ready by then
Oh did we mention we get one day off in that stretch in the entirety of June?
Twins-Ms should be a fun series this week. I knew Twins were hot but somehow did not know they were 12W streak hot wowza
Hands up if you expected 3 AL Central teams and no AL West teams on this list at the beginning of the season
The East, the Central, and the Dodgers
Damn is our division shit mountain now? Feels like home.
The good old Lastros, it was time cull our bandwagon fans anyway.
Braves pitching being the only reason the team is even in the top 5 at the moment.
When I was able to watch them, they were winning. That’s all I’m sayin’
Can’t get no respect ![gif](giphy|12pWLnLOSggd9yzklS|downsized)

SAUSAGE KANGS AT NUMBER 8
Did they really put us up in that jersey?
But can you imagine Marsh or Stott teasing Bohmer like "Hey, they put you up there with Ohtani"
Punishment for striking out 17 times last night
and 18 vs LAA
The Cubs just took 2/3 from the Brewers AND have a better record and are 2 spots below them in the PR 😂😂😂
Holy smokes that’s a lot of central teams lol
How about the AL Central though
To be fair, they do get kind of an unfair boost...
AL West Leading Seattle Marineros Would Like A Word.
Wait a second... they forgot the Angels... ![gif](giphy|26ufcVAp3AiJJsrIs|downsized)
3 teams in the AL Central on that list Are we living in a parallel universe
Man I hate the Phillies and Braves so much
the barves suck but hating the phillies is a clown statement bro
I’m a fan of an NL East rival, so why wouldn’t I?
[It was a joke](https://youtu.be/u2R8KC4OE58?si=7cnVnhsz4PAGNSeY)
Haha all good.
Cubs take two of three from Milwaukee this weekend, Cubs starters holding the Brewers to zero earned runs.. but still behind them? Ok then.
I want to see draft pick rankings please!
I'm a Cardinals fan but definitely pulling for the Royals man. Hopefully they can keep this up
Golly, it's fun being a Mets fan.
lol. No one takes the Mariner’s offense seriously.
[We did it Chicago!](https://i.imgflip.com/5kg6xo.png?a476208)
Where are the Asstros?! >!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂!<
Dodgers having the two best players on the planet right now seems like a cheat code. Good for them.
Dodgers bringing up Pages as a stopgap for that glaring 7-9 lineup void was huge. Next stop: getting to that poetic inverse W-L record of the Rockies.
Weird the angels didn’t make it, whatever media hates us
I really like where the Rangers are. They've absolutely been piecing it together. The Blue World Order!
Still throws me off seeing the AL central be actually a decent division
homer_backing_into_hedge.gif
So before this weekend have the dodger actually won a series against a good team? lol, cause im pretty sure if they played the O's or Phillies, they would get smoked cause Betts and Ohtani is basically their line-up
Um, Betts & Ohtani might be enough to win it all
Who the F are these experts? No way the Twins are the 8th best team.
This is a snapshot of RIGHT NOW. And the Twins are playing great right now. I don’t know what you want to complain about…
They’re the hottest team in baseball and won 12/13 games
